>Good night.

>I am just making a quick post before I hit the sack. I spent a lot of time online today. Mostly on my book sites updating my libraries. Of course they are virtual libraries. List of books I want to read I have 395 on Shelfari and 385 on LibraryThing. Only 212 are to be read.

I requested a couple of books from the library one is for a Shelfari discussion group and I don’t remember the other.

Other than that, Gwen and I had a good time at the meeting. We got to talk to friends we rarely see and after we went to Panera for lunch. We each got one of the two things, right now I can’t remember what they are called, soup and half sandwich, different soup and different sandwich. We were thinking we could continue our fun at home, but D was home. So we just went to our rooms. I have only been back upstairs to have dinner, I was going to watch L&O:CI but D wanted the news on. So I have been watching TV in the basement and working on my computer.

>I am up

>and showered. Of course, Gwen was already up and dressed by the time I got up. I think she really wants to go to the meeting! Tee, Hee. We both know why, and she would positively kill me if she knew I was making this public! In a minute I have to get dressed but in that minute . . .

You see I have changed my template for this blog. I had to for the background. I decided since I like black, I am using it on my blogs. Black and purple. I had to change the color of the font so you could see it. And I widened the sidebar ’cause Sassy’s picture was cut off. What else? Oh I added a line break to the Subscribe to …. widget because it was cut off. Now I don’t want to go with the 3 column format. I like it the way it is now.

>Once Again

>I have stayed up too late. After not sleeping well last night and missing the book study this morning.

Em, Gwen and I went out today. She wanted her hair done. So Gwen and I dropped her off and went to Macy’s to make an appointment to get a makeover for Gwen. Yes, she has decided to start wearing makeup. Em put some on her last Wednesday and she liked how she looked. So she had her makeup done. Then she decided she needed a new top to go with her new look, and she picked out a red top. We are so happy, she looks so good in it. Then we went for lunch, she was so happy she paid for lunch. Unfortunately, I got another migraine, or sinus headache, anyway, I started feeling bad and nauseous and my sinuses were hurting and discharging dark brown mucus.

After we got home I didn’t do much else besides sit in my room and play with my blog. Well, I did lie down and sleep for a while.

Cookie sent me an e-mail with some sad news, very sad, but not unexpected. Now I have to go to bed. Gwen wants to go to Fishkill’s meeting tomorrow, to show off her new look to someone there.

>Reality

>Reality is just like a dream, you try to control it and you have no control, you try to guide it and it ends up taking you out,
The only break we get from reality is our dreams. They keep us sane, they keep us loving, they keep us living.
The breaks from dreaming are never as pleasant,
You can’t break away from it, no matter how hard you try, you can’t make it better, without giving up dignity, and the lovers of today rarely last til’ tomorrow.
But we will outlast them, we will break away from reality, and make a world full of peace, and care for it always,
What’s sad to realize is that it will never be real, no matter how hard we try, it can never come out of our head, filled with hopes and love, but still, no power to change this horrible world.

Thanks to Rob at Inukshuk Adventure for the link.

So for a bit of fun why not head over to the Medieval Name Generator and find out what you might have been named had you lived in, well, Medieval times!

If you are female go here and for the guys here.
If you are unsure or adventurous, try both.

>Blogging

>I have been tweaking my other blogs. The reading one I converted to 3 columns. I found a website with the instructions on how to change the html code so it doesn’t change your widgets. So that is good. Since I succeeded with that one, I might change this one to 3 columns also. The craft one, I also changed, then put it back, I don’t need 3 columns on that one.

When I got up to Panera, I couldn’t find Gwen, so I sent a text to Em. She called me, Stitch brought her home early. She was a little miffed at him, since he picked me up from the train and didn’t tell me. So I drove all the way to Panera, after getting an MRI and having a pounding headache from it, and didn’t have to! When I said something to Stitch, he said something like, ‘I thought she was going to tell you, after all she was the one that decided to come home early.’ ARG!

They gave me a CD with the images on it. So I can look at slices of my brain on my computer, I was going to post one here, but they look kind of funny. I have no idea if they look like they are supposed to, hopefully the doctor knows what to look for.

Now I should really go to bed. If I decide to make any changes to this blog, it will have to wait until tomorrow. But in the meantime, check out my Bella is reading blog and see how nice it looks now.

>Forgot again

>What I was going to say. Very cold today, had to scrape the windows off this morning. Fortunately I had started her a few minutes before we went out so some of it was already melting. And where was Stitch while I was doing this? Huddled in the car cause it was cold.

Then when I was on the train I realized I had forgotten my scarf. Don’t know why I didn’t realize it before, then when I got off the 7 train I couldn’t find my hat.

Tigger wants me to take him to the Verizon store to see the new Blackberry Storm. Besides the fact that there will be about a million people there, I am getting an MRI. I totally forgot about Ann’s jewelry party when I made the appointment. Oh well maybe Em will buy me something.

Me again (2nd e-mail) in my favorite hiding place. I just drank 1.5L of water straight from the fridge and now I am freezing. The main problem with my hiding place is the poor or no connection. Which means this may never get where it is going. I have gotten a lot done today. So now I am going to say good-bye and do some more.

I am now home and will be leaving for my exam in a minute or two. I have to brush my teeth, put on lipstick etc etc. I don’t know why I am so nervous. Well, now I am nervous I won’t be done in time to get a latte before I have to get Gwen I have to pick her up at Panera at 9:00. My test is scheduled for 7:50, so if it goes longer than 30 minutes I will be late.

D took Tigger to see the storm, he said they didn’t stay long because D didn’t really like it. But Tigger likes it.

>$21K for a rug

>This is insane! The governor of NY is trying to cut spending, including cutting state worker’s salery, saying we are in economic trouble, OK, so maybe you shouldn’t have spent 21,000 dollars for a new rug!

He is also taking trips and going to Canada to make speeches. It leaves me speechless!

>So tired today

>You may have noticed that my list of books read in 2008 is not on the side or anywhere else on this blog. I put it on my ‘book’ blog. That is why I am so tired, I was up to 1:00 a.m. doing it. You see, I wanted to link the books to the reviews I had written, that meant I had to search for them, since I combined reviews on posts with other stuff, I couldn’t just look at the title of the post. Fortunately, I was using labels so I got most that way.

This morning Stitch drove me to the train. It was pretty cold but I started the car a few minutes before we left for the train so it was pretty warm in the car. Also this morning I learned that if your earbuds get yanked out of your ears, it doesn’t feel good.

>The Cost of Bottled Water

>Tap water is a tremendous value for families and communities, typically costing less than half a penny per gallon. Bottled water is often an important and convenient choice for consumers and the traveling public but it certainly has its costs.

Consumers should know about the carbon footprint and environmental impacts of bottled water. It takes a lot of energy to manufacture, transport, and store bottled water. Experts estimate the plastic bottle manufacturing process alone consumes 17 million barrels of oil a year.

Street litter and marine debris are costly concerns, as well. Marine debris is a major pollution problem affecting the world’s oceans, coasts, and watersheds. Although impacts may be more visible at the local beach; marine debris is a national and international problem. Anything can become marine debris. Extremely light-weight items, like plastic bottles, are more likely to become marine debris than heavier items because they can easily be carried by wind from one location to another.

Think globally and drink locally. Tap into the savings and recycle for the streams’ sake.
