hi again

I had this message typed out, or whatever you call it when you are using a cell phone to send e-mails & deleted the message by mistake. I was a little peeved that now I have to redo it.

I am getting annoyed because people are asking, ok only one person so far, ‘Are you going home for a visit?’ NO, I am going to visit my parents, why should where my parents made me grow up be home over where I have chosen to live? The saying is, ‘Home is where the heart is.‘ If I was unhappy where I grew up and living with my parents, how could that be where my heart is?

I finished this book on the way home today. It deals with childhood sexual abuse (extreme), domestic abuse, police brutality and jumping to conclusions. One of the criminals is caught at the beginning and the abuse is also in the past, this novels deals mainly with the different ways abuse affects different people, the Aftermath of events. How some become abusers themselves and some don’t. I peeked at the ending. It is the first time I have in this series. I really like this author, he is very interesting, his books aren’t carbon copies of each other. I didn’t peek because I was bored, I don’t really know why I guess I just wanted to know the end before I finished the book.

The Other Stall
This could happen to you! I was barely sitting down when I heard a voice from the other stall saying:
‘Hi, how are you?’
I’m not the type to start a conversation in the restroom. I don’t know what got into me, but I answered, somewhat embarrassed,
‘Doin’ just fine!’
And the other person says:
‘So what are you up to?’
What kind of question is that? At that point, I’m thinking this is too bizarre so I say:
‘Uhhh, I’m like you, just sitting here.’
At this point I am just trying to get out as fast as I can when I hear another question:
‘Can I come over?’
Ok,this question is just too weird for me.I figured I could politely end the conversation.I say:
‘No……I’m a little busy right now!!!’
Then I hear the person say, nervously:
‘Listen, I’ll have to call you back. There’s an idiot in the other stall who keeps answering all my questions!’

Weather today

I really don’t know why I don’t blog on the weekend, but I don’t, I just jot everything down Monday then in the evening I reorganize and add stuff when I get online.

Friday night was the DCC concert, I didn’t go, I got a text from Tigger saying 9D was backed up so I went to Allsport instead. While M. Stitch, Tigger and Gwen were at the concert, D signed up for Netflix.

Saturday after bookstudy Gwen had a driving lesson, around the block in the development then I drove to riverside park and Gwen drove from the park to the train station, back to the park and to the train station again, she only almost hit a curb once. After that I went to Allsport. Then Sunday I took Tigger to get a bluetooth. He really likes it. I walked to Ron’s, halfway there I realized I had left my money at home, so I walked on to Main Street to get some from the bank. Netflix is great.

After a semi-gorgeous weekend it is cold, damp, gray & windy this a.m. I took a beating on the way in from the subway to my office. And it must have rained a lot somewhere because the hudson was overflowing its banks into the train parking lot. The same parking lot Gwen was practicing her driving in Saturday.

M’s life

Yesterday when M picked me up she said, ‘my life could not get any weirder. When Dr. D got the report of my chest x-ray, my lungs are clear but I have a compression fracture in one of my thoracic vertebre. Huh? How did that happen? What is a compression fracture anyway?’ She says, ‘I am not going for anymore routine tests, they keep finding problems.’ She had a mammogram and they found a cyst, so now they have to drain it to see if any nasty things are hiding behind it. We are a little stressed right now. And Gwen and I are leaving for Washington in 3 weeks and 3 days! Bye bye.

I had a message all typed out and my phone crapped out on me. I can’t remember everything I said. Gwen has started texting me when she gets bored. I sent a text to Tigger but he hasn’t responded. Either he left school late or is tired of texting me. Which do you think it is? Me too.

OK when I finished that, I got a text from Tigger, but I said read later to the text and tried to send the e-mail, but it wouldn’t go. The mystery is solved and it wasn’t either of those things. It was raining and he didn’t want to get his phone wet.

Now who’s stupid

I went to this training. I took the subway, I walked the wrong way and got lost so I purchased a days worth of navigator, then it couldn’t find the address. I finally thought to put ‘Environ’ in and then it found the address, coming back was much easier. Now I am on the 7 train and hopefully it will get to GCT in time for the 5:50 train. I can’t decide if the hunger is better or worse then the pain from having to pee so bad. Tigger was sending me texts a little bit ago and now he has stopped. I have to go answer a text from Gwen.

Gwen told me to text M or Tigger what time I was getting home. At the time I had no idea because I was still on the 7 train. The reason I was able to be online when I was on the train is because the 7 is an elevated train. Anyway, I didn’t get home until 7:30 and M was too tired to go to the mall. Tomorrow night is the Mid-Hudson Orchestra Concert. I haven’t decided if I want to go to it or to Allsport.

After I got home and went downstairs and took my jeans off and sat in the bed under my blanket, M asks me if I will go get Gwen if D won’t. He didn’t, so I did. Now I just want to lie down and sleep. So I think I will.

So I went for the rehearsal, I forgot to take my knitting and Stitch wouldn’t let me take my computer in. Anyway, rehearsal is not like the concert, I was so bored! M was at Tigger’s concert, which he didn’t play at because his reed was broken, she sent me a text, ‘I am bored, so I’m texting you.’ We sent messages to each other until she left the high school, then she told me to text Tigger. We sent a lot of texts to each other. Than when we got home, Stitch realized he’d left his backpack at the college.

More of my life

I have decided that the main difference between this and a diary is that I didn’t have to create titles in my diary, each page just had the date, Dear Carmel, and I took off! Having to come up with titles is not my strong suit. That is what drags me down when I write poems. I write poems fine, then when I have to give it a title, I get all bogged down. However, what is nice, is if I want to change something here, I can just go back and change it, no cross outs!

Anyway, I am staying home, I got a sore throat yesterday and it was still there this morning. It is better now after a cough drop and a cup of coffee and sugar-free black cherry soda. It is still hurting so it is not just dry throat like I was hoping it was.

After I dropped Stitch and Gwen off, I brought them up to Dutchess this morning (I can’t not have my car if I am home, I have a sore throat, I am not an invalid), Stitch calls me, he forgot his trumpet, his suggestion to me (to save gasoline he says), is to bring it up at 7:30 pm, then I can stay for practice, so should I bring my computer, or my knitting? I think it would be more polite to bring my knitting, I will see what M. thinks. Its not like I won’t get computer time today.

Well, I can’t think of much else to say right now. I am going to Weight Watchers. I will be back if anything else happens today.

I went to the library to get my books, they had that cart with free books on the sidewalk. I got two, a Mary Higgins Clark and the 2nd book in the Women’s Murder Club series.

Ok, so I am not good at titles. Is anybody reading this? I am taking a break from work and reading about the cyclone that hit Myanmar. The suspected death toll is up to 22,000, the rice was wiped out, there is no clean water, there are about 100,000 homeless and the military government won’t let the aid people in, this after requesting aid. By the way this is just my take on the situation after reading a news article. The reality may vary. Tonight I need to come online and clean these last few posts up. I think by now I have 100 posts.

I am at Panera and wouldn’t you know as soon as I get settled and go online Gwen sends me a text “im done” so I have to fly.

M had a mammo and now is stressed about an abnormality they found. She is making her jokes to cover, like she does. She is channeling Hawkeye from M.A.S.H.

Tigger is driving me crazy wanting to find the outback song. He tried doing a capture but I made him stop because we were watching NCIS and the show came back on. Now I have to go check my e-mail and download some free songs from Amazon.

1) What’s in Your Bottle?
During this week of May 4-10 we are celebrating National Drinking Water Week. It’s easy to take for granted the fact that we have easy access to safe water in our homes – something that more than 1 billion people in the world can’t rely on. Every day, committed professionals who work for more than 52,000 community water systems provide water to 286 million consumers throughout the country. And during this time of escalating prices of everything from milk to gasoline, we should remember that tap water is a great value. The U.S. Conference of Mayors just released a study showing that, on a cost per ounce basis, municipal water is 1,000 to 4,000 times more affordable than bottled water. So, this week, fill your own bottle with safe, affordable water from your tap. Also, learn more about your water system, including how you can help to protect your drinking water source from contamination. Visit EPA’s web site at http://www.epa.gov/safewater for more information about the national drinking water program.

Idiots

I had a post all thought out then someone came by offering me candy & I completely forgot what I was going to say. My tummy is still minorly upset from the weekend, I also have a headache, it is gone now, I had some tea & 2 Aleve. My neck is tight, I think that is what caused the headache. Tonight I am planning on going to Allsport and doing a couple loads of laundry. I asked Tigger to make sure other laundry was done. He said ok, but didn’t sound very happy about it. Then again it is hard to know how someone is feeling when you are reading their text messages and not talking with them face to face.

I remember what I was going to say, that is was a gray day, but the sun was shining. Like when the doctor says you are healthy, but you still feel sick. Is it because it is the city and all I can see are buildings and cars and streets? Or is it because the window is dirty, and so I can see the sun, but it doesn’t make things bright. When I went outside, it was sunny and bright. Maybe I felt it was bright because I was leaving work early. Not much but enough to catch an earlier train.

The only laundry that was there when I got home had to come upstairs, so technically, it was done. I brought it upstairs, then after the gym I did my two loads. Now I have clean clothes to wear to Allsport and exercise and get all sweaty again.
