No more internet

So the boss cracked down. He is mainly worried about how things look for the Division of Water and himself, if Albany cracks down on improper internet use. Bah! He doesn’t know that I can blog without going on my blog, I just have to send an e-mail, like I’m doing now!

However, I have not been able to check the WW thread since this morning. Or my e-mail, I did check Verizon to see how much the enV will be for Gwen. It is $80. I suppose I will have to pay for part of it. Well, not have to, I think I will offer half if she still wants it. She wants it so she can send text messages. Just a couple months ago, she told me she didn’t like text messaging. Well, I guess Tigger changed that for her.

I told M about the phone and how much and she is paying for it. So I ordered it. It will be here Friday, then I need to activate it and register it so the coverage is in effect. I am not ordering that nice of a phone and not insuring it.

Well, haven’t had dinner yet so I will go do that now. I am wearing the French Terry Skirt and it is as long as I thought it would be and comfortable.

I just finished “The Seduction of the Crimson Rose”. It is the 4th book in the “Pink Carnation” series. A take on the Scarlet Pimpernel, except the Pink Carnation is female. I have read the first three books so I took a break from Alan Banks to read it.

I just found out that the husband of one of the Booktalk ladies had to be rushed to the hospital. She was babysitting and when she got home she found him. I sent her an e-mail. I included some of the hummingbird pictures that I will post next. I hope she doesn’t think I am being frivolous, I thought looking at the pretty birds would help her mood.

M’s sisters, mother and nephew are leaving tomorrow. My chest is hurting now and I don’t know why. I used my inhaler and it hasn’t helped. I really want some of that ice cream cake upstairs.

Well, gotta go now.

Staying Alive

Yesterday and today, I have been having a devil of a time staying awake. I wonder if I can blame it on having a bagel for breakfast instead of oatmeal. You know, the wheat allergy problem? Anyway, I was sitting here and nodding off and I heard a voice calling my name, it was Prestina and she was asking, “Is that you?” I was looking at my blog, which has my picture on it and that was what she was asking about.

Speaking of my blog, I forgot to mention what happened at Allsport last night, after I was done with my workout, I suddenly ran out of Women’s Fitness, I thought I had wet my pants, turned out, the wetness I felt was not urine, it was sweat! Time to switch from workout pants to workout shorts, or maybe I’ll pick up a pair of those workout skirts at Target.

I went to Target and got a workout skort, it wasn’t on the clearance rack yet, but I was tired of waiting. I got a pair of shorts that were on the clearance rack for $5. I also got a new sports bra, I have 4 or 5, but they are old and some of then the elastic is coming out. Then I went to the boys department to get a boys extra-large tank top to wear over my sports bras. It is longer than the shorts. I am wearing the skort and it is very comfortable.

Longevity Awards

They had the Longevity Awards ceremony today, complete with cake and coffee. The coffee was really bad. I didn’t finish it. I told someone that I was still drinking it because I didn’t want to throw it in the garbage and make a mess, he said, “So just leave it somewhere, then it’s somebody else’s problem.” So that is what I did.

Bob got one of the awards, for 30 years. I don’t know the other people who got the 30 years but they were both in Division of Air. And someone wasn’t going to come because neither of the cakes were Kosher. So we had three cakes, chocolate, carrot and Kosher.

Not much else going on. M and I went to Allsport, I was a little upset because Stitch had my car when I got home and wasn’t going to be home until 8, but it worked out good because M wouldn’t have gone to Allsport if she hadn’t had to take me. Well, she didn’t have to, I didn’t make her, but she felt obligated. So we had a nice workout. I was going to dye my hair but didn’t feel like it after I got home so maybe tomorrow.

On another topic, I read an Inspector Banks novel. I like it so much, I am reading all of them, in order, you know how compulsive I am. There are only 18 to read. I am not going to reread the ones I read out of order. It is the type of series that you don’t really need to read in order, but it helps. Anyway, I am going to leave here so I can read some and maybe finish the next one. That way I will have 11 books read in March.

#69

This is my 69th post on this blog. I don’t know how many were on my other.

Today started like any other Saturday, I went to Lily’s this morning. Then came home, then I sent a text message to M asking about going to Allsport. She wasn’t sure, but then Tigger asked about taking him to Outback to meet M. I called her and she said Outback or Chili’s, so we ended up at Chili’s, Fred wanted to come. Anyway, I ate one of their new bacon cheeseburgers, sooo good, but way to much! Then we each had a sweet shot for dessert. Fred and Tigger each had a chocolate one. I had the cheesecake and M had the apple.

M took Fred home and I took Tigger to Staples so he could play with “his” new PDA. I bought some Sharpie retractable marker and hi-lighters. I missed the bank so I couldn’t cash that huge check from the insurance company. M & D were gone when we got home, I did this and that, checked my e-mail and saw that the schedule on the flight to Washington was changed and so I had to call. They had allowed us 15 minutes to change planes in Atlanta. So I called them to change it. The new time makes it easier for my parents.

Then Gwen, Tigger and me went for a walk. We ended up at the creek, then walked back home along the railroad tracks. We saw some old cars, a microwave, a TV, an air conditioner, some lawn furniture, an animal skeleton. Then Tigger wanted to keep walking until we got to Glenham. We didn’t and my legs were hurting when we got home.

Right now on the BTF thread we are having a Cyber Road Trip. I have never seen the thread this busy, everybody is getting in on it! I just posted so I have to wait for the page to load to see what other craziness is going on.

Trouble posting

I sent WW an e-mail because I couldn’t post anything. I am sure others did too. In fact, I know M.L. did, she posted about it.

Herman sent me an e-mail, he said that even though I deleted my post, my name was still there. I kind of thought that might happen. I was hoping he wouldn’t look at his blog. He also sent e-mails to Selvin and Jean. He told Jean that he knows I think he’s annoying. Well, he would have to be very stupid not to have noticed that.

Tonight I was planning on going to work out. I didn’t get to Wednesday, but I don’t really want to go into the reason why. I will go tomorrow. All I want to do right now is go to sleep, but I know that is not a good idea.

My tummy is not happy, I mentioned it to Pam and she asked why, so I told her, “I mixed chocolate and beer last night.” I won’t be doing that again!

The comma key has started to stick, it sometimes takes two or three tries before it types.

My day today

Ok, I got the kids to college, turned out the reason they wanted to drive was to pick up a friend and that friend ended up not going, as DG said, we could have taken the bus! And I thought, and I could have stayed in bed!

Then I went to the post office and the auto store (needed new wipers) then to the gym (YAY), then home to take a bath and to the doctor’s (he said my exam was normal, not me, just the exam LOL!) then to the sewing machine repair place (YIKES $$$) and then I stopped at B&N on the way to pick up the kids from college! WHEW! Busy day!

CINDERROSE
Lynne – the same character who committed the brutal rape you remember also orchestrated a gang rape of a farmer’s wife when a farmer couldn’t pay his usery fees, ended up savaging a prostitute followed by one of his men at arms, beat his 14 year old wife so he could reach sexual arousal to savage her, tried to rape another farmer’s daughter when her family saved her part way through the act, and the girl who was raped at the beginning was almost raped at the end by another man. I am probably forgetting some of the sexual violence. Ok – I didn’t write my main objection – he wrote the rape from the raptist’s point of view, in great detail, making it very titilating which I found revolting. I think Ken Follet is deeply disturbed. I really do.
The graphic detail was unnecessary and detracted from the book.

chatty

I have an earworm. I believe that is the expression. There are ads for the show Tudor up in the subway, Henry the 8th. Now is it my imagination or is that guy toe curling, heart stopping, take my breath away, don’t kick him out of bed unless there is more room on the floor purdy? Anyway, now I have the song “‘Enry the 8th”, by Hermans Hermits (?) in my head (I’m En-e-ry the 8th I am, En-e-ry the 8th I am I am). You get the idea. So I have to think of Piano Man or something like that before I start singing this song out loud and driving myself and everyone in the room crazy.

On another note, I tried a different Greek Yogurt this morning ‘Chobani’. It was cheaper than Fage and it has fruit on the bottom. It was pretty good, sweeter than Fage but that might have been because of the fruit. I ate the yogurt off the top and put the fruit in my oatmeal. It was blueberry so now my oatmeal looks kind of icky. I like blueberries so I am sure I will like it.

I don’t know why I am so perky and verbose, considering I got to bed at midnight, am dead tired and have had nothing with caffeine in it yet. Maybe because I am making a conscience effort to not eat bread (I’m allergic to wheat) and have started going back to the gym, two times this week. Woo Hoo. Whatever it is I need to shut up and eat my breakfast. BBL

Lost thoughts

I had something I was going to say, I remember thinking, I have to e-mail this to my blog so I can remember it, but that is all I remember. I don’t remember if I thought of something while waiting for the traffic on the bridge or a thought about the girl on the subway with her pants tied into her shoelaces. Or that I tried Fage yogurt for the first time today.

I have been reading British and Scottish authors and I think I am starting to think like them.

I was so mad last night about the governor, and today I have regained my calm. I keep telling myself, this is why man is not meant to rule.

From a Message board post:

Right before Spitzer’s wife stood up beside him I bet she told him, “You think you paid a lot to get screwwed by that hookker? Wait until my lawyers are done with you.”

At least that’s what I would have said.

I was listing some books on Amazon to sell. Tigger brought down a whole stack of books, “We never read these, can we sell them?” Then he realized that with the shipping credit Amazon gives, you get more money than you ask for, so he tried to get me to sell a quarter for 15 cents. He is a total nut case. I am not a meanie, I speak the truth.

It is raining like crazy here. 9D is flooded so if we want to go to the mall we have to drive up Route 9. Tigger asked me if I have sold anything yet. Then he told me he was making pancakes. Very cool I told him. He agreed. Someday, I have to take a good picture of Abby.
