Party for Bob

And I cut out early, head was starting to hurt, actually, it was hurting most of the day, I couldn’t get it to stop, so now I am home and my head no longer hurts. Hmmm. So M is at Pam’s and Stitch and Gwen are home with me. I was thinking about going to Target to look at that purse again, but I think I will look on-line. Maybe find a bargain on E-Bay or Amazon. I took a picture of my Crocs to post on the Yahoo group site.

Yesterday before M had to get D at the airport we went shopping. Couldn’t really do a lot though. Gwen wanted some white tank tops to wear under her shirts and she needed some new bras. She didn’t know the size though, so we couldn’t just pick them up, she had to come with us and try them on. She got a couple of nice ones at Kohls. I got a long slip to replace the one I can’t find. It will turn up now I am sure. I got beige so when it does, I will have a white one and a beige one. I also got a pretty cotton nightgown and a red dress. Not exactly suitable for meetings but I wore it to the party for Bob, it is high enough neckline and long enough, but the shoulders are too bare for the meetings. It’s a baby doll style dress. I like it because it has no waistline so you can’t tell that I don’t have one. Now I have to go check the WW thread and then I think I am going to take a nap or do some online shopping.

Memorial Day

My computer was giving me fits last night, it was trying to install updates and wouldn’t shut off. So today I turned it on then unplugged it. When the battery died, I plugged it in and started it, and now I can use it. I just wanted to get this started before I went to get my car washed and get Stitch at his friend’s house. I will be back later to tell you about my pink toenails.

First thing today I vacuumed Amita, I used the car vac, it was O.K. I want to take it to the car wash and use the super duper one but I ran out of time today, it will have to be done next week. Tigger and Fred had fun beating my floor mats. Then I went to Allsport, but I watched NCIS so I didn’t have time to take it to the car wash, I forgot Allsport was closing at 1:30. Then I went for a pedicure, the special was for a manicure and pedicure so I got both. I got a bright pink polish on both, it is almost red, so I guess I should say it is dark pink, not bright. Anyway, I like it. One of the toenails was dinged already before I left the salon, but I didn’t feel like staying to get it fixed. I will dab some light red on it and nobody will notice.

The family was back from Patterson when I got home from the salon. But M. was taking Stitch up to his friend’s, he is tutoring him in math. I was in my room when she got back and so didn’t see her before she left for P.s so she didn’t get to see my nails.

When I was going up to get him, and make all my stops along the way, I drove right past the W ATM, so I drove around in a circle to get some money. Then I got the car washed, then I stopped at Borders. Stitch wanted me to “take my time”. So I took as long as I could without actually reading a book at Borders. Then when I got to his friend’s, he took forever to get out. I sent this e-mail to this blog: “I am sitting in front of his friends place and he is taking forever. I am really getting annoyed. Ok he called and said he is coming. Well he has to drive now because my stomach is hurting bad.” 7:24:00 pm

He didn’t have a problem with driving and I showed M my nails when I got home, she likes the color, M and D are going to Hawaii next year for their anniversary, Mark S told them where they could get tickets really cheap, they have to go in February, but so what? They will just have to celebrate early.

M’s life

Yesterday when M picked me up she said, ‘my life could not get any weirder. When Dr. D got the report of my chest x-ray, my lungs are clear but I have a compression fracture in one of my thoracic vertebre. Huh? How did that happen? What is a compression fracture anyway?’ She says, ‘I am not going for anymore routine tests, they keep finding problems.’ She had a mammogram and they found a cyst, so now they have to drain it to see if any nasty things are hiding behind it. We are a little stressed right now. And Gwen and I are leaving for Washington in 3 weeks and 3 days! Bye bye.

I had a message all typed out and my phone crapped out on me. I can’t remember everything I said. Gwen has started texting me when she gets bored. I sent a text to Tigger but he hasn’t responded. Either he left school late or is tired of texting me. Which do you think it is? Me too.

OK when I finished that, I got a text from Tigger, but I said read later to the text and tried to send the e-mail, but it wouldn’t go. The mystery is solved and it wasn’t either of those things. It was raining and he didn’t want to get his phone wet.

More of my life

I have decided that the main difference between this and a diary is that I didn’t have to create titles in my diary, each page just had the date, Dear Carmel, and I took off! Having to come up with titles is not my strong suit. That is what drags me down when I write poems. I write poems fine, then when I have to give it a title, I get all bogged down. However, what is nice, is if I want to change something here, I can just go back and change it, no cross outs!

Anyway, I am staying home, I got a sore throat yesterday and it was still there this morning. It is better now after a cough drop and a cup of coffee and sugar-free black cherry soda. It is still hurting so it is not just dry throat like I was hoping it was.

After I dropped Stitch and Gwen off, I brought them up to Dutchess this morning (I can’t not have my car if I am home, I have a sore throat, I am not an invalid), Stitch calls me, he forgot his trumpet, his suggestion to me (to save gasoline he says), is to bring it up at 7:30 pm, then I can stay for practice, so should I bring my computer, or my knitting? I think it would be more polite to bring my knitting, I will see what M. thinks. Its not like I won’t get computer time today.

Well, I can’t think of much else to say right now. I am going to Weight Watchers. I will be back if anything else happens today.

I went to the library to get my books, they had that cart with free books on the sidewalk. I got two, a Mary Higgins Clark and the 2nd book in the Women’s Murder Club series.

Idiots

I had a post all thought out then someone came by offering me candy & I completely forgot what I was going to say. My tummy is still minorly upset from the weekend, I also have a headache, it is gone now, I had some tea & 2 Aleve. My neck is tight, I think that is what caused the headache. Tonight I am planning on going to Allsport and doing a couple loads of laundry. I asked Tigger to make sure other laundry was done. He said ok, but didn’t sound very happy about it. Then again it is hard to know how someone is feeling when you are reading their text messages and not talking with them face to face.

I remember what I was going to say, that is was a gray day, but the sun was shining. Like when the doctor says you are healthy, but you still feel sick. Is it because it is the city and all I can see are buildings and cars and streets? Or is it because the window is dirty, and so I can see the sun, but it doesn’t make things bright. When I went outside, it was sunny and bright. Maybe I felt it was bright because I was leaving work early. Not much but enough to catch an earlier train.

The only laundry that was there when I got home had to come upstairs, so technically, it was done. I brought it upstairs, then after the gym I did my two loads. Now I have clean clothes to wear to Allsport and exercise and get all sweaty again.

Not much going on

Sick this weekend. Upset tummy. I did go to the gym Saturday and did elliptical, nautilus and the AMT. I also scratched myself on the forehead, right in the middle no less, so now I have this big red mark on my face. I hope my makeup can cover it. I also have an infected ear lobe so I can’t wear my earrings, too painful. My period started this weekend, Saturday and I had no protection with me at the gym. Now my cramps won’t quit and the headache won’t quit. So not a very good or productive weekend for me. Today I didn’t even leave the house. And I went on the WW thread and could barely think of anything to say. I really have to go now, all I want to do is lie down and sleep.

We have an ant infestation. They are after the cat’s food. I told him to eat all his food, or get rid of the ants. He hasn’t done either. So, I threw all his food (in his bowl, not in the plastic container which so far, is ant free) in the toilet and flushed. Then I put the bowl, which had cat food ‘dust’ and ants back on the floor, thinking I would take care of it in the morning. In the morning, the bowl was clean and the ants were gone. I could not imagine what had happened, had the ants eaten all the crumbs, or did the cat? Did the cat eat the food and the ants? Well, I put food in his bowl, and this afternoon when I got home the ants were back.

So I took a nap. Not a long one, just about 45 minutes. Then I went upstairs and ate, then went to Allsport, then went to Target and got ant traps! I also got some WD-40 because the door knob is sticking and the lock won’t lock all the way. I got another skort because they have finally made it to the clearance rack. And when those really nice tank tops make it to the 50% off rack, I will get one of them.

So the bowl is washed out, the floor is clean and the ant traps are in the wall. Hopefully no more ants.

One last comment, I have exercised 4 days in a row.

Nonny Nonny

Described as a feel good word, I kind of like saying it, Nonny Nonny. It’s from As You Like It. I keep saying I am going to read it but so far . . .

Today has not been the greatest of days. I stayed up late to finish Final Account. Another good book in the Alan Banks series. Then I got woken up early by my phone letting me know I got an e-mail from M.L. So I had to get up to check my e-mail to see what she said. Silly woman, spending time in the early a.m. to send me an e-card. Very sweet though.

Fell asleep on the train. Still having tummy problems that lead to a sore bottom. Have to take the Vaseline with me to the bathroom. Not bad though, nothing is bleeding right now.

This morning I had to throw out Butterscotch’s food again, covered in ants. I forgot to get ant traps at Target. I will have to remember to go tonight. I wrote a list in my phone, I need to transfer it to paper.

Chatter Chatter

So, I just got hit with a headache. OW! I gave the blanket to the new mommie to be, well, she is not actually a NEW mommie, this is her third, but it is her first GIRL! She said she loved it, likes how soft it is, had to give me a hug. She also liked the baby feet on the bag and the card.

I took a few minutes to pop over to WW to check my threads. I just pasted ♪♥♫♥ >^..^< on them so tonight I can find them and type something. Laurie Lee sent an e-mail to Pam saying she has to leave the thread. I remember when I did that, then I came back, now the thread is no longer there. I am sure that will not happen to BT and BTF. There are too many people that post to it for it to just fade to black.

There was another thread that I used to post to that is no longer there. I can't believe that at one time I posted to 7-10 threads. One thread now only has like 3 regular posters. Every once in a while someone new posts there, but they don't come back.

My weight was up this morning, but my pants seem to be fitting better. So that is an NSV.

Just finished this book, will come back to comment on it.

O.K. I put my laundry in and did stuff and now I have no time to comment on this book. But I will, but now I have to post pictures of the baby blanket I just finished.

I really enjoyed this book. What I have discovered about Peter Robinson, is even though the books are a series, they are not all the same. For instance in this book, you learn about DC Susan Gay, who up to this point has just been mentioned, and that by other characters, you don’t really see her. She is very smart but very insecure for lack of a better word. She is always questioning herself, and worried that others are looking at her critically and reporting on her to her superiors. One of those people who blames themselves when things go wrong, or if they make a mistake, feel they shouldn’t have made it, even if it was their inexperience that caused it. Considering she is a female in a male dominated profession it is very understandable and Peter Robinson makes it very believable.
