>Manhattan

>This is getting to be a recurring post.

Since I spent 3 days in Albany Em decided I needed a trip to Manhattan, I suspect she was just using that as an excuse and just really wanted to go herself. I am her friend however so I went along with it. That sounds like I didn’t really want to go, of course I do. I wrote the above on the train, then I started to get motion sick, so I stopped. I just took some Tylenol® PM so I have to stop now. I will finish this tomorrow.

We didn’t go down real early this time. Em went to BJ’s so I decided I would go to Target to get a purse that I could carry my stuff and my camera in. Tigger wanted to come with me. So first I put gas in the car, then we drove to Target. I didn’t like how the car sounded so I checked the oil when we go to Target. Plenty of oil but dirty, so it needs to be changed. I will schedule that for next weekend. Em called while we were at Target so we met her at Panera for breakfast, we took a little too long so we had to drive straight to the train station, that meant I didn’t have my camera, I only had foundation on and I was wearing my Crocs™! My fuzzy ones. I was not very happy about that.

After making a stop at the bathroom, we started walking up 5th Avenue toward Central Park. I was looking for a perfume store I saw on 5th Avenue once. We didn’t find it, Tigger found it on his I-touch, but we didn’t go to it. I stopped at Sephora to see about getting a makeover, didn’t get one there, got one at Saks and bought some lip gloss. Em bought a bunch of makeup, enough to get a free gift from Lancôme. Tigger got a shirt and another jacket, navy blue this time. We went to Cafe Frida for lunch again. I had the same thing I had last time and Em had fajitas and Tigger had Salmon. This is some of the decor there. Kind of cool huh? Em said the waiter was kind of cute, I said yeah, in a South American Rebel kind of way!

It was a fun day after all. I bought lip gloss and two new pairs of Crocs™, we finished our day at Annie Moore’s as usual. I didn’t have Scotch this time, need to see if that is what makes me drag the next day.

>Tag You’re It!

>I was tagged by Marta at Marta’s Meanderings for a little photo meme. Here are the rules:
Find your 5th photo file folder, then the 5th photo in that file folder.
Post that picture on your blog.
Tag 5 others to do the same.

OK, I had to cheat a little, there was only one picture in my 5th photo file folder. So I believe this is from my 6th file folder but I still used the 5th photo. Here it is.

This was sent to me by e-mail. An amazing series of photos of the dog and bear, and the bear did not try to kill the dog. I don’t remember who sent this to me.

I’m going to cheat again and not tag anyone, just if you have 5 folders of pictures you should do this, it is fun. So the next five readers are tagged! LOL

>I am so happy to be home. I was thinking how great it was to be home. I didn’t even mind that it took 45 minutes to drive 2 miles in Queens this morning.

I took my shower so my legs are itching now from the dry skin. I was going to take a bath after my shower, but since Em had taken her bath before that there wasn’t enough hot water for me to have a hot bath. So I turned off the water and dried off and here I am. Freezing again after two nights in a hot hotel room. That had no tub in the bathroom.

As soon as I finish this post I have to take my contacts out, braid my hair and wash my face. I want to write my review of Dearly Devoted Dexter, but I think I will end up just going to bed. Kind of tired. So tired I can’t even remember what I was going to say.

I am going to post this picture that I took in Albany. I sent it to Tigger and he had a pithy response, something along the lines of how ridiculous it was to have an cigarette disposal next to a non-smoking sign. I don’t remember exactly what he said and I deleted the text, but it was appropriate.

>Write on! Respect the Blog

>Don Mills Diva wrote a post recently, check it out and if you like it/agree with her copy the link and write a post about why your blog should be respected.

My blog started as a way to keep track of my Weight Watchers progress. I was hoping that putting my numbers ‘out there’ would help me stay on track. Well, Weight Watchers is not going so good, but I now have three blogs and am having a great time. I have this blog, a blog for books and a blog for crafts. Blogging is like a door to another world.

This has become my outlet for my thoughts, and that is all I ever wanted it to be, if you were to read my diary it is about the same. Nothing is too personal, that is still saved for my diary that is hidden in my . . . Well never mind I am getting off track. I don’t have a degree in journalism, or any degree for that matter, no one who tells me they like my blog goes on to ask, BTW Do you have a degree? Most comment on how beautiful my blog is, that makes me happy, probably the artist in me that wants everything I touch to be beautiful.

So merely the fact that I am a human being with feelings, this is not a computer stringing words together, I deserve respect and by extension so does my blog.

Thanks for listening.

>and I am so glad to be going home today, which you can probably tell by the fact I am blogging instead of downstairs enjoying the complementary breakfast.

This is a nice room and it is warm, perhaps a little too warm, the heat has raised dry skin patches on my legs and itching. No tub either. The only mirror is behind the sink so I have to lean across this counter to put in my contacts and put on my make-up which I definitely need cause my nose and surrounding check area look like crap. And since I forgot my bottle of Tylenol®, I had to pay $2 for 4 tablets. I am also bloated from not enough water and too much restaurant/deli food. Not to mention drinking every night!

I have also not had the time or energy to take care of my tag. I have not forgotten I am planning to do that tonight also, or maybe tomorrow. And there was a blog I read that I wanted to comment on. That will also have to wait. Until I do, I leave you with this thought.

>Rats!

>I had some clever thoughts to post today and I missed it, it is now tomorrow. And I was tagged for a picture but I can’t think to do it. I really should just forget it all and go to sleep. The problem is, the tag is from Marta’s Meanerings, and it is a picture tag, if you click the link you can see, my problem is, I don’t have 5 photo folders. I am at a lose as to what to do. So I am just going to sleep now and try to figure out something later.

>Fell asleep

>Here I am in Albany. Had some meeting today and after we went out, ate some food had some drinks. Came back to my hotel room, took off my jeans and got under the bedspread or comforter with my computer on my lap and promptly fell asleep. Woke up at 11:30.

I tried to keep reading the thread I was reading when I fell asleep but my contacts were cloudy and I couldn’t see it. So I went to take them out and almost couldn’t do it. I did get them out, drank some water, took some Tylenol® and use my inhaler. I need more Tylenol®.

There was a whole story involved with my drive into Albany this morning. Including no gas, no rear window wiper and wandering around the building until I found the room. A. Fuchs rescued me but I am too tired now to relate it. I am not even going to read the rest of the WW thread.

Have a happy Monday everyone..

What gives you hope? Seeing a rainbow reminds me of God’s mercy and justice and that gives me hope.

How often do you get your haircut? Describe your worst haircut. Not often, every three or four months I would say, when the ends get so damaged I can’t get a comb through them is my timetable. My worst would be a toss -up between a curly red perm, and the ‘Farrah Fawcett’ look.

What’s your most treasured piece of jewelry? Why? My gold love knot ring. I have had it since before my sister got married. She has been married for 28 years. I know that is how long I have had it since I stole it off her dresser (LOL). And that is why it is my most treasured.

>But I have more visitors and more followers. When I go to their blogs, I always think they are so much better and more interesting then mine!

I also have another page in my guestbook, happy days! I get so excited over this little expressions of kindness.

Tomorrow I am going to Albany for three days, I was supposed to pack tonight, but my clothes are not dry. I probably should put them in the dryer, but I hate putting my sweaters in the dryer, I am always afraid they will shrink and look horrible. I guess I will have to put them in for a little bit, if I get most of the wetness out, they will dry by morning and I can throw them in the suitcase.

The other thing of concern is the weather. It was snowing when I got home and as you know, Albany is north of here! I made sure to get a snow brush this time, and they gave me a Ford Escape 4×4, my GPS is working and I got a car power thingy so I can plug in my phone and use Verizon Navigator if I have to.

Now I am going to pack. No sense putting it off.
