Poll Shows Obama’s Clout on Health Care Is Eroding

President Obama’s ability to shape the debate on health care appears to be eroding as opponents aggressively portray the effort as a government-takeover that could limit Americans’ ability to choose their doctor and course of treatment, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.

Americans are concerned that overhauling the healthcare system would reduce the quality of their care, increase their out-of-pocket health costs and tax bills and limit their options in choosing doctors, treatment and tests, the poll found.

I wonder why it didn’t work on the other one. HMM.

At first I thought I had gone up, but when I looked at my sheet, I saw I was the same. Considering yesterday I didn’t drink all my water, had a beer and cookie for dinner and ice cream cake for a snack, I consider staying the same a victory.

Mel threw down the gauntlet, Grace has declined to pick it up. Cookie thinks it is because Mel posted it last night and no one has read it. I think it is because Grace is chicken. Anyway, Mel has not answered my e-mail. I hope she is not mad at me for dropping the ball yesterday. I can be a real idiot sometimes. I hate to grovel but I feel like doing.

On a happier note, I got M’s tickets for Manhattan, one more week and a day before we go! I am so happy, but I need to wash clothes so my capris that I plan on wearing are clean. I asked M if she thought it would be warm enough to wear our short sleeved tops, she said, it might be cool in the evening and we might have to buy a sweater! I love the way she thinks.

Sunday headache

This morning I got up to go out in service, but started feeling bad so I laid back down, then M called and I told her I wasn’t feeling well she was “I wish you had told me”, so I started to feel like a bad friend, so I got dressed and went out, but she had already left and so I didn’t get to work with her. I didn’t get to talk to anybody. But had an ok time, but by the time I got home, I had a headache and was feeling like I wanted to throw up. I went to the meeting anyway, Gwen drove me, then she drove me home early cause I wasn’t feeling any better. I am now, I had some caffeine.

Tigger just asked if he could download an album from the Frey with Pepsi points. I shouldn’t have told him we had 80 Pepsi points.

Gwen and I went to Ron’s. We got ice cream for ourselves and Stitch and Tigger, Fred wasn’t around, now Tigger wants to go driving. I really don’t, my head is STILL killing me.

Took Tigger driving, he just wanted to drive around the block since he hadn’t driven in ‘like two months’, so I was cool with that. Then I laid down and fell asleep, with my contacts in again! Now they are out so everything is blurry. Sometimes that is a good thing.

Like I told someone, tea with Splenda will cure almost anything. It took care of my tummy. Didn’t take care of my smelly pits, neither did the powder so when I finish here I will have to go wash before bed. I have decided I am going to read my Jack London, just because I have nothing else to read tomorrow and they are short.

No better today

My stomach bug and headache seem to come and go. I thought I was over it because I had an almost normal bowel movement. Any more detail would be TMI! Anyway, I have to get going, I just wanted to make sure I got this done since I am trying not miss any more days posting.

Period is due this weekend or sooner. Last month it came sooner. Today I started “Whistling in the Dark” by Lesley Kagen. It has gripped my attention. I am going to read some more in it as soon as I am done here.

Today

Yesterday, I did not turn on my computer at all. After the meeting, Em and I went to Danbury, she is looking for navy blue capris to wear to Manhattan. She didn’t find any. We did find these cool bags at Eddie Bauer though. Em’s is blue and mine is burgundy. It has bunches of pockets and stuff to carry things. Saturday we went to Macy’s cause Em saw that they were having an online Lancôme sale. Well, they were also having it at the store, so she got makeup and I got eyeliner and we got 2 free gifts. I am not wearing the eye shadow today, because I overslept and didn’t have time. Tomorrow I will have to try harder.

8-)

I am so disgusted, I am wearing a top that I used to look cute in, and now I look fat in it. I suppose I should have waited to wear it, but for some reason I just put it on cause I was wearing my black pants. I looked in the mirror at work and went yuk! More incentive to stay on track until I lose the weight.

Well, I was eating well today, then I started to eat my popcorn and I had a really bad tummy ache. Then I had to go to the bathroom. I managed to get all the way home before the really bad stuff came out, then I took my imodium and got in bed. Then Gwen called me for dinner, so I put my nightgown and robe on, went upstairs and had a hamburger, comfort food. And got grease on my nightgown and robe. So when I came back downstairs I put them both in the hamper. Now I am just sitting on my bed wrapped up in my soft fleece blankets. I wish there was a way I could lie down and type.

Yesterday I was wearing my Gap jeans. They are tight, but I was able to get them on.

Phone not working

Well, not really, I just have problems if I go online. I thought it might be because I now have 1,000 messages in my AOL inbox, but when I signed off and tried to send a text, the phone froze up so I had to take the battery out to use the phone, I couldn’t even turn it off. So now I am just killing time because I am so tired and I just want to go home.

It was raining so heavy this morning the backyard looked like the everglades. Except no gators.

When I got home, Tigger wanted to look at my phone to see what it was doing, of course, it didn’t make the lines across the touch screen when he was playing with it. No, couldn’t misbehave for beloved Tigger could it?

I am almost done with Murder in the Adirondacks. I have finished the account of the murder and trial and execution, now he is writing about how the novel “An American Tragedy” came about.

Got the score for the football game: Steelers 21, Bills 24

And Cookie sent me an e-mail, could it be Grace is taking a supplement and that is why she is losing so much weight? I mean, 25 pounds in 5 weeks. I keep forgetting to ask M about it. I am sure she would have an opinion. I told her about the Chipotle flavored olive oil, so of course she had me get some for her, then she put it in her oil mister thing so she could spray it on her popcorn. I didn’t try any, but I am sure it is delish.

grr

up this am. hope its just water.

Well I ate too much today, I ran through all my points and then some and got a tummy ache. Then I was too tired to go to Allsport. Tomorrow is meeting so I won’t be working out. I will have to Thursday and Friday. I have to lose this weight. I started Murder in the Adirondacks last night. It is very interesting. I was afraid it would be like other true crime books I have tried to read, I mean not Ann Rule, but it is very readable. He does not embellish things, he reports the events as near as he can determine, if the facts are not available, he states that. It is a throughly investigated book. In the preface he describes what he went through to get the necessary information. I can’t wait to finish. I also can’t remember the next book I requested. I will have to check that out for you.

It is Whistling in the Dark. About a serial killer that preys on little girls. Should be interesting.

Home today

Didn’t go to work today, just not up to it. It poured here, thunder, lightning and hail. Stitch had my car and couldn’t come home because of the storm.

When M got home yesterday, the house was clean enough to satisfy her. Today I have done two loads of laundry for her.

Gwen and I played Rummikub too. I need to go to Allsport, I can’t remember the last time I went. I might be back later.

I am home now, in my room and it is cold. I feel like lying down with my book, but I am afraid I will fall asleep, I really need to log my food in the WW points tracker. Speaking of WW, my weight this morning was 137.6, 2 more pounds lost. M grilled burgers for dinner. She also sliced some tomatoes from her garden, they were very red! At this rate, I might be below 135 in another month. I am calculating the total from when I recommitted which includes a gain one week. I will be happy if I am 135 by next month. Yeah, keep saying that, I might believe it.

Em’s epilator came today, she had to charge it before she could use. I don’t know if she has yet, I will let you know when she lets me know. I told her about the one I saw at Target and didn’t get and she said she had seen one and thought it would be too big to use on your face, even though it said you could use it on your face. I had thought that also of the one I saw at Target, the one I got is prettier too. When I brought the box out, Tigger wanted to know what it was, Em said, “It’s my present, my new toy.” I hope it works well for her, maybe Gwen will use it too.

Going down,

139.2 this morning. YAY! Keep going down.

As we were waiting for the train to leave, this man, who was sitting on the other side, had his cell phone glued to his ear. The announcement came over the P.A. system, ‘This is the express train to Poughkeepsie making stops at . . .’, all of a sudden this man shouts, ‘What? This train doesn’t stop at Croton?’ He jumps up grabs his bag and leaves. It was so sudden and unexpected we laughed.

OK, trying again. My jewelry came, and I had to listen to the no personal mail speech, because I believe in, it’s easier to be forgiven then get permission. I promise to never do it again, or at least until Zales has another clearance sale.

So I had a pretty productive day, I went to work, I came home, hung my clothes out that I put in the laundry this morning, yes, this morning! Put another load in, the last load of M’s. Then I went to the meeting, was almost on time. Came home, called my mom back, she has called twice. Cleaned both cat boxes, pulled the dehumidifier out from D’s workroom and plugged it in. Oh and I fought off Abigail. I also gave Papuga a piece of pineapple, I am trying the bribery route. She is funny, she took the pineapple, then dropped it, then gave me this look like ‘oops’

My new phone has over 100 text messages in it. I am not deleting until I find out how many it will hold. Well, I have to go now. This is post #200.
