grr

up this am. hope its just water.

Well I ate too much today, I ran through all my points and then some and got a tummy ache. Then I was too tired to go to Allsport. Tomorrow is meeting so I won’t be working out. I will have to Thursday and Friday. I have to lose this weight. I started Murder in the Adirondacks last night. It is very interesting. I was afraid it would be like other true crime books I have tried to read, I mean not Ann Rule, but it is very readable. He does not embellish things, he reports the events as near as he can determine, if the facts are not available, he states that. It is a throughly investigated book. In the preface he describes what he went through to get the necessary information. I can’t wait to finish. I also can’t remember the next book I requested. I will have to check that out for you.

It is Whistling in the Dark. About a serial killer that preys on little girls. Should be interesting.

Just One Look by Harlan Coben

I actually read this book twice, I kind of skimmed through it, then put it aside and when I finished my library books I picked it up again and read it through, no skimming or skipping. Even knowing how it ended I still couldn’t stop reading it.

Just One Look by Harlan Coben

The Barnes & Noble Review
Photographs are a way of putting memories on paper and, like memories, they can be precious — or dangerous. For housewife Grace Lawson, the ordinary act of picking up a pack of family photos sets an extraordinary sequence of events in motion, and the danger builds momentum with every turn of the page.

Among prints of a happy family vacation is one photo that doesn’t belong — a picture taken 20 years ago of a group of strangers, including someone who looks remarkably like Grace’s husband as a young man. Before Grace can get her husband to explain, he disappears; and her search for the truth behind this glimpse of an earlier time involves digging into past secrets and tragedies that trigger a deadly series of all-too-current events. In Just One Look, award-winning suspense writer Harlan Coben has created tantalizing and terrifying interconnected mysteries. Sue Stone

And somehow, he makes it work, you think, there is no way all these different story lines and people are going to come together. The ending is “WOW” and somehow, believable.

Finally

I put a book in a bag to bring to work to read & what am i doing? Sending e-mails to my blog, why you ask?, because it is more fun! I have an idea about something to do with this i will get back to you. The book i brought is No Regrets by Ann Rule. I am going to start reading now.

I was going to stop at the park to do this but it looks like rain so i decided to stop at the coffee shop. I do have to go soon because I need to pee and get back to work. Someday I need to fill in the blanks from our nightmare flight home but can’t right now, so I will say ttfn and bbl

It just started raining as i walked across the parking lot
>^. .^<

Herman has gone too far

Cold, gray damp morning has changed to raining buckets. I was going to the deli but changed my mind and came to the diner, it wasn’t just the rain but the wind was blowing like crazy. Huh, now the sun is shining. Go figure.

Finished Playing with Fire on the way home from work. I am going to try to write a review but not right now. I am just going to insert the picture and then go do some errands. I had to restrict the viewing of this blog. I was so mad this morning I almost cursed at H. I am going now to make my previous posts visible since he won’t be able to see them anymore. I hope.

Yes so now only people I invite can view this blog, that means the ladies on BTF that have been reading it can no longer do so. Well, I got an AOL e-mail address and created a Google account with that and they can use that if they want to.

Playing with Fire starts with an arson, two people died. It turns into a murder investigation when it is discovered that one of the victims was drugged with a date-rape drug. The other victim was unintended. Then there is another fire, also murder. There is also follow up with the boyfriend of the other victim, investigation into allegations of abuse, Peter Robinson does a good job of continuing the two story lines in a logical manner. The characters are not cookie cutter and are very believable. He must do an incredible amount of research. I also like that each novel in the series feels like a stand-alone. He does not do the same plot, same ending, different guest stars with each book in the series.

Vacw

VACW stands for very annoying co-worker and it is Herman, he knows who he is. He is upset because someone has been putting plants in his pot and now he thinks I know who did it, I don’t but I know who had some cuttings from the big tree that used to be in the stairwell, the big tree that scared me, but I am not telling him, why? So he can go annoy them? If he thinks he can get me to tell he doesn’t know me at all.

I was going to say something else and it totally slipped my mind when I had to sign back in.

OK so the VACW is upset about this post and wants me to delete it, I said “No.” He says he will post a comment. Fine. He can do what he wants. He has been coming to my desk all day, now he wants an upgrade, he wants to be the EACW. Extremely Annoying Co-Worker.

Talk about annoying, Fred’s friends are under the deck and screaming by my window and it is annoying me. Alot, mainly I am afraid to change my clothes with them lurking about outside. M. was telling about the seniors pulling a prank and that it got interrupted by the police, they were going to use plastic forks to make 2008. However, someone ruined the flowers by the flagpole, that is just mean.

Finished this book today, another good novel by Peter Robinson.

Nuthin’ much

I stayed up way to late last night. Got An Unfinished Life from the library and read it before I went to bed. I also got the movie, now I have two movies to watch and M got Freedom Writers from Netflix. I hope I get to watch it before they send it back. I have had a semi-productive day, I got the FOIL up to the Office of General Council and I got the rest of the websites written in my purple address book. Now I am going to write the e-mail addresses in there. That has been my day so far. I have another FOIL to do and file a bunch of DMRs.

I started Close to Home on the way home. Tonight was meeting and Tigger was texting me, Are you coming? After he and D and Gwen left. Then when I got there, he pouted when I didn’t sit next to them, sitting in the row in front. So I had to go back and sit with them. They left after the school was done. He did a good job. When he sings, his voice is deeper than when he talks.

hi again

I had this message typed out, or whatever you call it when you are using a cell phone to send e-mails & deleted the message by mistake. I was a little peeved that now I have to redo it.

I am getting annoyed because people are asking, ok only one person so far, ‘Are you going home for a visit?’ NO, I am going to visit my parents, why should where my parents made me grow up be home over where I have chosen to live? The saying is, ‘Home is where the heart is.‘ If I was unhappy where I grew up and living with my parents, how could that be where my heart is?

I finished this book on the way home today. It deals with childhood sexual abuse (extreme), domestic abuse, police brutality and jumping to conclusions. One of the criminals is caught at the beginning and the abuse is also in the past, this novels deals mainly with the different ways abuse affects different people, the Aftermath of events. How some become abusers themselves and some don’t. I peeked at the ending. It is the first time I have in this series. I really like this author, he is very interesting, his books aren’t carbon copies of each other. I didn’t peek because I was bored, I don’t really know why I guess I just wanted to know the end before I finished the book.

More of my life

I have decided that the main difference between this and a diary is that I didn’t have to create titles in my diary, each page just had the date, Dear Carmel, and I took off! Having to come up with titles is not my strong suit. That is what drags me down when I write poems. I write poems fine, then when I have to give it a title, I get all bogged down. However, what is nice, is if I want to change something here, I can just go back and change it, no cross outs!

Anyway, I am staying home, I got a sore throat yesterday and it was still there this morning. It is better now after a cough drop and a cup of coffee and sugar-free black cherry soda. It is still hurting so it is not just dry throat like I was hoping it was.

After I dropped Stitch and Gwen off, I brought them up to Dutchess this morning (I can’t not have my car if I am home, I have a sore throat, I am not an invalid), Stitch calls me, he forgot his trumpet, his suggestion to me (to save gasoline he says), is to bring it up at 7:30 pm, then I can stay for practice, so should I bring my computer, or my knitting? I think it would be more polite to bring my knitting, I will see what M. thinks. Its not like I won’t get computer time today.

Well, I can’t think of much else to say right now. I am going to Weight Watchers. I will be back if anything else happens today.

I went to the library to get my books, they had that cart with free books on the sidewalk. I got two, a Mary Higgins Clark and the 2nd book in the Women’s Murder Club series.

Back again

So here I am again blogging when I should be working. I’ll work in a minute. The weather has been crazy, I went from sweat jacket under my coat to just a sweat jacket then just long sleeve top, yesterday & today it has been leather coat again! I mean, there was frost on the windshield yesterday & today. I actually started my car early to give it some time to warm up. Add to that I left my Yankees ball cap on the train and to replace it will cost about 25 dollars. Yes that is because I won’t go cheap, I want the same style. Ok, should do some work now.

I started Elephants Can Remember. It is quite a switch from Alan Banks to Hercule Poirot. I will post a review on Booktalk tomorrow. I will have to e-mail it to myself.

I am off to watch Murder One.
