>Why I’m Grumpy today.

>1) overslept so I didn't have time to do my face and am convinced I now look like sh**.

2) have a pain in my shoulder that is bothering my neck or vice versa.

3) some idiot locked the filing cabinet and I don’t have the key so I had to ask operations to open it for me (not really a problem since they like me but still a pain)

4) my dark purple hooded sweatshirt with ‘New York City’ in white letters on the front (which makes it my favorite) has whitish lint on it that I can’t scotch tape off, this contibutes to the ‘I look like sh** syndrome.’.

Now I have to go out and get some lunch, and it is cold and I have no idea what to get.

U.S. Sets 3-Hour Limit on Tarmac Waits for Plane Passengers

The Transportation Department is ordering airlines to let passengers stuck in stranded airplanes exit after three hours.

Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood on Monday announced the three-hour limit and other new passenger protections long sought by consumer advocates. From January to June this year, 613 planes were delayed on tarmacs for more than three hours.

>The concert was great. So why did it take me two days to get back here to blog about it? Umm …. I was recovering? No, we had our Circuit Assembly and I had to go. It was a promise I made to go to the concert.

Ever been to Mohegan Sun? Since I don’t gamble I have never been. I didn’t know that casinos also put on concerts. Anyway, the bathrooms have plastic on the toilets, and there are these green things, a round disc on the wall with a motion sensor or a green button on the back of the toilet to push, and the plastic goes around so you have fresh plastic to sit on. Of course I didn’t do it, I mean, I use the public restroom in GCT, I’m going to worry about the restroom in the middle of nowhere, Connecticut? I did wave my hand in front of the green disc after just to see if it worked, and it did. Yeah I know, some of you are shaking your heads at me. :p
Em and I had dinner at The Dubliner

An authentic and lively 3,000 square-foot Irish Pub, The Dubliner features traditional pub fare, including Guinness Stew, Bangers and Champ, Corned Beef and Cabbage and much more. Choose from an assortment of beers on tap, enjoy a cocktail with friends at the bar or relax by the fireplace. At The Dubliner, you’ll feel like you’ve been whisked away to the heart of Ireland.

Going to the restroom I encountered this sign:

And then this sign:
So glad they had the English up there, could have been embarrassing. And inside the ladies room was this sign:

No idea what this means, maybe somebody could help me? Anybody?

Dinner for me was ‘Bangers and Mash’ (sausage and mashed potatoes). Em had a Caesar salad with chicken. I had this specialty Vodka and caramel drink for dessert, kind of yummy, I think, I don’t really remember. Then we walked around and looked at the shops until we could go in the arena.

I was going to get a Rob Thomas hat like Em got in NY when she went to see Rob at the Beacon, but they didn’t have any. I got a wristband that has the concert in a USB thingy and in a day or two I can download the encore. The opening act at Mohegan Sun was Ryan Star. Em bought his CD, which he was going to be signing during the intermission so Em sent me down to do that. The picture is kind of blurry I know. Also, before he was done with his act, I dropped the CD, it fell down into the row below, so I just climbed down and got it. Someone should tell me I am not a teenager anymore, I now have a huge bruise on my left knee.

Getting the CD signed I didn’t get back until Rob had already started Fire on the Mountain. Then there he was! Rob Thomas! Ok, this is really what I saw:

We were glad we went to Mohegan Sun, his concert at the Borgata was cancelled and rescheduled for January 9, 2010.

>Postcard Friday #49

>In all the excitement of finding my ring and going to see Rob Thomas tonight, I almost forgot about Postcard Friday!

My parents live in Washington State, when I visit them I buy postcards to bring home, you know it saves all that time, driving out to see something, then not seeing anything because it rains all the time meaning there are rainclouds everywhere and you can’t see anything!

The back of the card says:
LAKE CRESCENT
OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK
WASHINGTON
This view is from Storm King Mountain.
I find that insanely funny because there is a Storm King Mountain here in New York, right across the river from me. It is a lovely 14º Fahrenheit here (-10ºC), I wonder what the temperature is at that Storm King Mountain?

>Lost & found

>On December 10 I lost a silver ring and an earring. I know the date because I posted it on Facebook. The ring is pictured at left, which probably tells you how the story ends, but bear with me it is kind of interesting.

December 11th I was in Time Square at the AT&T store to meet Joe Girardi. I didn’t bring anything to sign, I didn’t know I was supposed to and no one knew if there would be anything provided to sign. I had my Yankee backpack, I started to empty it so Joe could sign it. In the very bottom I found another silver ring I had lost. This ring is a pinky ring and has two hearts joined together. I stopped wearing it cause it is too big for my pinky even though I bought the smallest size (Bella the tiny handed princess). I thought, “December is turning out to be a good month, I meet Joe Girardi, I am going to see Rob Thomas and I find my ring.”

Yesterday the month got better. See my gloves? Don’t worry all you moms out there, the glove has a little mitt that covers my fingers. I was going to lunch and decided to wear them since it was cold and I was going to be carrying something and wouldn’t be able to put my hands in my pocket. As I put the right one on, I noticed something silver pop out of the finger, I searched around my cubicle, didn’t find anything. Then I looked in the bag I had just taken the gloves out of and ….. there in the bottom was my ring! Yes the ring pictured above. I was so happy, I love that ring. Still haven’t found the gold earring.

>Concert today

>Ugg, what a morning, woke up with a headache and stomach ache (probably from the wheat toast I had last night, dummy) my eye feels like it has something in it, there was cat puke in front of the bathroom door (just what you want to see when you have to pee) and worst of all, I had a dream that I washed my hair and all the color washed out because the stylist had used the wrong stuff. I had gray hair! As Em says, that is a nightmare.

Yesterday evening I kept thinking I needed something at Target but couldn’t remember, until after I had my bath and it was too late to go up. This morning I have no car since I am being nice and let Stitch take it so he wouldn’t have to drive Em’s van. So I am sitting here cold and needing to go to the bathroom (again!) and telling myself to get out of bed and get some breakfast!

Tonight is the concert. I have my ticket in my purse, need to put my GPS in my purse also, need to put my earrings in so I don’t forget them too. So much to do and only 4 hours to do it.

>Getting ready for Friday

>was what I did yesterday, first I went to Kingston to give them $200 for the fine privilege of speeding through their city. That done I decided to do some shopping to see if I could find a new top for Friday, I didn’t, so I bought a new pair of earrings. Shhh! Don’t tell anyone. Then I went to get my hair done, can’t go to a rock concert with gray roots. I also went to Allsport, that wasn’t for the concert, that was for my own personal health. Now I just have to decide what to wear tomorrow.

Also, I decided that I am not going to get anymore piercings, since I have 9, like the players on the baseball diamond.

For the record, I didn’t say I was cold I said it was cold, I didn’t need to warm up because I was in my nice warm bed and had no intention of getting out from under my blankets! I was also having cramps. However, I hate saying no to any of them so she came downstairs, I got up and threw my navy sweatpants on so now I have dark blue lint on my gray tights. Yes I wore my tights to bed, they kept my legs warm!

It was nasty out today. Icing conditions so our meeting was cancelled. Next Friday is supposed to be nice, which will work out good for Em and I going to see Rob Thomas. December is turning out to be a good month!
