Stairs that go nowhere

These stairs are in the local park. The don’t actually go nowhere, they go to the top of the hill. But there’s nothing there. Just the top of the hill. It is a big flat expanse of grass. It could have at one time been the site of some kind of building and if I wasn’t lazy I would do some research into it.

But I am, so I won’t.

Pictures from Manhattan

I got a kick out of this. Live Bait at the top and Raw Bar in the window. So, does unsold live bait go into the raw bar? My brain is weird.

Street Fairs

These are glass pendants, they are very popular at the street fairs. You can usually find a table in every block. They are also really cheap, most are $3 with $1 for the cord to hang them on. They are sold separately so you can match whatever color in the pendant you want with a cord. I have 3 that I got from street fairs and one that I got from a street vendor.

These are two of my necklaces. For some reason I keep getting heart shaped ones.

Out of control

That is me, I am totally out of control. See this picture.

I now have six (count them! 6!) holes in my ear, and five in the other.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Water

This the fountain in the courtyard outside the side door of my office building. I like how the water looks like a bowl.

Normally I would write about and put some pictures up, but with the connection problems I am having, I am behind on my Yankee blogging.

We were there for the whole day, Em and the boys got manicures. I took some spring pictures of Bryant Park, I will post them later. We went down to see Ashley and had some lunch with a Groupon. The place was just O.K., they didn’t fix Tigger or my burgers right and I got a stomach ache because they had dressing on mine.

The boys went to the train to go home, Em was very nervous, but they got on the train like they were supposed to. When Em asked Tigger if he could find it all right, he held up his smartphone. “Mom I have GPS.”

Em and I went to the game and watched the Yankees beat the Mets, yay yay yay.

And that is all, says she.

Reunited

The other day on Facebook, I got a friend request. I didn’t recognize the name or the face, but we had friends in common. After I approved the friend request, she started commenting on my pictures. “All those familiar faces!” (picture of my family) “You look amazing!” so I started to really wonder, perhaps worry a little.

So I started to investigate, I started with her profile pics. It didn’t take long to get to a wedding picture, with a bride surrounded by 9 bridesmaids (each in a different color dress), a flower girl and maid of honor. Then I remembered her. I was the maid of honor at her wedding. If I hadn’t seen that picture, I would have never remembered her.

While some may think that it absolutely horrible of me, despite the fact that I was the maid of honor, we weren’t really that close, and after she got married we really didn’t do anything with each other anymore. I am so surprised that she recognized me. Although someone else from that time period posted on the picture of my family that everyone looks the same after 20 years. It appears they are right.

And that is all, says she.

Good day all around

This Saturday started with me fulfilling an obligation first thing in the morning. Then it was off to the city. Em and I had appointments for a massage at the Russian spa I really like. It was the first time for Em and the second time for me. We skipped the sauna because Em didn’t want her makeup all over her face. There are three things I have learned about this spa:

  1. The robes are not one size fits all,
  2. The lockers are not designed for 5 ft tall people.
  3. The twisty things that the locker keys are on do not make good ponytail holders.

Other than those three things, I loved the massage. So did Em, well she says she always loves getting a massage and here is not the best massage she has had. I have also decided that a shot of vodka at 4:00 pm after just having a handful of Cheerios and a doughnut all day is not a good idea.

Then it was time for Em to get her nails done, and I was going to go to Starbucks to have a snack and go online, but Em wanted to see if The Yankee store had and Russell Martin shirts. I knew they wouldn’t, but I went there anyway. This time I didn’t buy anything, no one seemed to mind that I was walking around taking pictures in the store.

For dinner we went back to BonChon chicken. This time we got just pot stickers and salad. But since it was dinnertime, there were a lot more pot stickers per order. So we had some to bring home for Stitch. Good times.

Oh, and the Yankees beat the Red Sox.
