Em and I decided to go to the city today. Trying to make up for last week. She also had a nail appointment. After stopping at Starbucks for yogurt and a cup of tea, we started out. We were extremely early, but Em wanted to see the shops at Bryant Park. First though we stopped at Sephora because we both had coupons.

>yesterday I was thinking about what I was going to post, I was ‘writing’ it in my head. Then when I came to post, I completely forgot about it. Then I remembered.
Those of you who have been following my life story (besides deserving a medal for perseverance) know that I have had my ears pierced 4 times. As in four separate holes. You also know that the fourth hole has been giving me trouble. Yesterday it was cold so I wore my headband, at the end of the day, when Em and I were leaving the grocery store, my ears were really bothering me. I mentioned to Em that I was seriously considering taking out the fourth earring and letting the holes heal over and just forgetting about it. She said, yes you could do that, but you paid all that money to get them pierced. I added, and my ears look so cute with the little diamonds in them! Then when I went to take my shower, I took the diamonds in the fourth hole out so my hair wouldn’t catch on them and pull, and the hole in my left ear started bleeding again! Sigh.
Today was not as cold, but it was windy! I thought this jacket might be too warm to wear today since the temperature was in the 60’s, but with the wind, it was perfect.
2 days until my blogoversary. I was going to have a contest and giveaway, but I lost track of time, November has never been a good month for me so I didn’t do anything. I might be able to have cake though, …
On another subject, I was thinking how I still had the same picture on Facebook, so I changed it to this picture. I kind of got this by accident, I just held up my cell phone and snapped it. The angle and composition turned out really nice, I like it. After putting it in my Facebook profile and Twitter, I decided it was time to change the picture on my blog too. So here it is, don’t know how long it will stay.
You can see my new lipstick that I tried to get a picture of before.
>Friday was the first game of the ALCS and I missed part of it because I had to go up to get new shoes. I needed to wear shoes Saturday to the city and all my shoes hurt my feet. Em said I probably needed bigger shoes, which doesn’t make sense to me. Target didn’t have any that I liked so I went to DSW and found pair of Skechers. I bought them in a size larger, mainly because I couldn’t remember the size I already had. They are called D’lites and are black and pick and are lightweight.
Em had a nail appointment, but she was worried about the rain. We went anyway, the weather report said the rain would come later, so we went down after having breakfast at Panera. I had remembered to charge everything so I had my book and my music. The little dog Angela at the nail salon was a wee bit upset I was sitting on her couch. She kept coming up to me and looking at me.
Then we had lunch at the diner and did some shopping. We bought some stuff at Express. In all a good day, and we got home before the rain and in time to watch the Yankee game. And my shoes did not hurt my feet.
Now if you want to know about the Yankee game, check out my new blog The Foxx Loves the Yankees.
>Em and I went down to the city yesterday, she said for the parade. We know it was really because she just wanted to go. We both had off work. Love civil service jobs sometimes.
After getting my nails done Friday, I was very upset to see one of them had broken on Saturday, I noticed it when I got in the car at Ron’s after getting ice cream. So that was the first stop. Then we walked up Fifth Avenue to watch the parade. There were some nice High School marching bands, some important people (that I didn’t recognize) and some floats. Em took some pictures then we continued our walking around.
We found another place to eat, I forgot to write it down, Maxie’s I think it was. Amazing food and this vodka and something and chambord liquor with melted white chocolate around the rim, deadly!
>Ron’s wedding was today. Or perhaps I should say yesterday, since I haven’t gone to bed yet I am still thinking it was today. I love Ron, really I do, I did not particularly like this wedding. First it was outside, not a bad day for it, but kind of chilly and since we didn’t know it was going to be outside, some of us (me) didn’t dress for it. I was wearing a short dress with no hose and just a sweater. The sound system was not good, couldn’t hear much and it didn’t help that a plane kept flying overhead!
Just the wedding was outside, then we went inside and it took forever to get the food! Tigger ended up with a massive headache, I ended up with a stomach ache. My asthma is bothering me now. It is a good thing Em and I are going to the city tomorrow because one of my nails broke yesterday and I need to get it fixed. Right now I need to sleep.
last night when I was getting ready to come upstairs for Em’s party, I caught my nail on my earring and pulled it out of my ear. I didn’t realize it at first, just knew I had caught the earring and my ear HURT! When I touched my ear, I realized the earring was gone and then I heard it hit the plastic in my trash can (which was in the middle in my room because of my cold{I found the earring later}). So I got my wee tiny gold hoops to put in instead, and I almost couldn’t get the earring in my left ear. After much trying and blotting up the blood I finally got it in and, well, it wasn’t good since my ears were bleeding and hurting. In fact I didn’t really sleep too good.
This morning however, I was feeling O.K. so I went with Em to the city. It rained, we (I) got soaked. Em had her nail appointment. She was looking for a dress for Ron’s wedding and she had the address for Coldwater Creek, so went up there, making a few stops along the way, they were having a sale so she ended up getting the dress, a top and pair of pants for the original price of the dress.
So after Em got her nails done we were just walking around, it had stopped raining and was kind of nice, we wanted to get dinner. Neither of us felt like Annie Moore’s so we just walked down 42nd Street until we found a place that looked good. We found Calico Jack’s Cantina. Em got a Cajun Ceaser Salad and I got a Bourban Street Burrito. Mine was really good but much too big for me. I still ordered dessert, Key Lime Mousse. The food was good and served fast and our server was attentive. Em made a note of it as a place we will be going back to.
Ball game was starting when we got home, I wish the Yanks could figure out how to beat Tampa Bay.
>Thursday and Friday were regular work days. Friday was Em’s last day at the High school, something she is not happy about and is now looking for another job. Friday was the first game in Yankees/Red Sox series, which the Yankees won and which game I watched. Gwen even came down to watch it, until she got tired and went to bed.
Fri, 9/25 ~ Yankees vs Red Sox ~ W 9-5 98-56
Saturday Em went to volunteer at the Diabetes Expo at the Javits Center. “It’s a trade show. It’s an interactive health fair. It’s one-stop shopping for everything related to diabetes and healthy living. ADA Diabetes EXPO provides the most comprehensive array of diabetes-related products, services and information available under one roof. An ADA Diabetes EXPO is for people with diabetes, those at risk for diabetes and anyone interested in healthy living.”
I went down to meet her, her jewelry was in and she was going down to get it installed. I also wanted to check on something, after finding out what was involved and how much I decided to go for it too. I think you can tell from the picture what it is. After we went back up to grab some dinner and the game was on. So we stayed until it was over even though it meant we had to order dessert (well we didn’t really HAVE to), at one point some people clapped and I gave a little scream and now we had won two games.
Sat, 9/26 ~ Yankees vs Red Sox ~ W 3-0 ~ 99-56
Today I had to go to church so I couldn’t watch it. I had it on in the car and when I got to church, the Red Sox were ahead 2 to 1. After church I checked my phone and the score at the end of the 6th inning was Red Sox 2, Yankees 3. I listened on the way home and got to hear, “THE-E-E-E YANKEES WIN” right before we got home, so I was able to come inside and watch the post game. The final score was:
Sun, 9/27 ~ Yankees vs. Red Sox ~ W 4-2 ~ 100-56
Don’t think I need to add anymore.
>Em had an appointment to get HER nails done. So we were up early to catch the train. I took her to Modell’s to see a shirt I had seen the night before when I stopped there with Gwen. It is for Jeter breaking Lou Gehrig’s record and had his picture on it. I didn’t get it, cause as much as I like Jeter, I don’t really want to walk around with his face on my chest. Em agreed that was kind of over the top and creepy. Em did get a backpack with the Yankee logo on it. We went to the music store, where they STILL do not have Rob Thomas’ latest songbook. Then to the Yankee store, where Em bought me two (yes, not one but 2) postcards of Derek Jeter. I would post them, but I am starting to get the feeling that people are getting tired of my obsession with Jeter. Then Em went to get her nails done and I walked around.
The other thing she had planned to do yesterday we couldn’t because a piece of jewelry wasn’t in. So we went to Central Park, neither of us was feeling very well so we made a short day of it.
>I drove Stitch and Gwen up to DCC. Early, but I got to go home and lie back down, NICE! Gwen sent me a text saying I could pick them up at noon. There had been discussion on the way up, she had to borrow some equipment and didn’t know when it would be ready. Stitch’s late class had been cancelled.
The next message was that I could pick them up at any time because all of Stitch’s classes were cancelled! So I had to get up and go up to get them. Since it was early and Stitch was eating I got hungry so we stopped at Pizza Hut for lunch. I mentioned that I wanted to go work out before I went to get my nails done. The only disadvantage of not going to work was I now had to make an extra trip to Manhattan, the girl who does my nails is not in on Saturday. Gwen got this look on her face, she asked me if she could come with me. So then I had a companion for the long trip down and back. Also nice.
After getting my nails done we stopped at Starbucks, then when we got to GCT I was still hungry so I got a sandwich and Gwen got watermelon at Dishes. I dropped half my sandwich on the floor. Pfft! Clumsy me.
