>Down to Manhattan

>The train is not just for going to work. I like to take the train to spend the day in the city. Like last Saturday, Em and I spent all day in the city. Got back in time to watch the Yankees lose …. but I’m not going to think about that right now.

The day started with my trip to Weight Watchers (something else I’m not talking about) and we went to breakfast then the train, I missed the memo about that and didn’t have my face on. So our first stop in the city was at Sephora’s so I could get moisturizer with sunscreen. Then we headed up to the crocs store. Em was hoping they would be having clearance sales. They weren’t. But I’m getting ahead of myself. On the way to the Crocs store, Em stopped at this vendor with a sign, $5 glass jewelry. She motioned me to come, “These are kind of pretty.” Even though the Crocs store wasn’t having a clearance sale, she still found some nice sandals, funny shaped I thought but she said they were very comfortable, and in light blue. Next we went to Cafe Frida, our favorite Mayan restaurant for a light lunch, that ended up leaving us full for the rest of the day.

We were walking through Central Park and suddenly Em stopped. “All these times and I never noticed that.” I looked where she was pointing at a water fountain. We watched as a boy pushed a button at the bottom of the fountain and his poodle took a drink. After they left left I walked over and took a closer look. The bottom of the fountain is a bowl, and the spout put water into the bowl, for your dog. New Yorkers love their pets. I thought that was pretty cool. I mean, obviously, cause I took a picture of it.

We then went down to see Ashley so Em could get prices on jewelry and Ashley could look at my ear. My sore pierced ear, except it is no so sore anymore, and very, very pretty.

And I can’t remember what else? We ended up at the Irish pub eating nachos with cheesecake for dessert and I had Kahlua and club soda. Long tiring but fun day.

>You are all probably bored with my posts about Saturday in Manhattan, this post is about a FRIDAY in Manhattan. Which actually started on Thursday and cost me an extra night cause D made the reservation for the wrong night. I was seriously pissed, not just at him but at me for not checking the date when I got the confirmation e-mail.

Friday morning we got up early and went to the Today show. We had fan passes so we were able to get up close. Doesn’t help much when everyone is taller then you, blah! I did manage to get close enough to get my pass signed by Ryan for Em. She is so happy now. Afterward we walked around trying to figure out where to go for lunch. Fred needed new earbuds so we went to the Apple store, and by the time I thought of coming on here to blog, Em was saying, we’re leaving. So I typed the title and saved it, then ended up deleting it when I didn’t get here until today.

Unfortunately I couldn’t get my nail appointment moved so I had to kill some time. I thought about going to a movie, but the theater I found wasn’t playing anything I wanted to see. So I went to The Strand and bought a couple books. Then after my nail appointment I came home. And now I have blisters all over my toes.

>Manhattan

>Em had her nail appointment and I made a appointment for a pedicure, the color is off, it is more lavender then that. Getting a pedicure meant I wore my sandals which means my feet were hurting. I wanted to get some different ones from Crocs. I knew they would rub my feet but I had bandaids with me and I figured it would be easier to put them on the top of my feet then on the bottom, which is where they have to go with my red sandals, not only they, they clashed with the nail polish I picked out.

We had lunch, I don’t remember the name, which is unfortunate, since I don’t want to eat there again and not knowing the name, it could happen. Then Em started feeling ill and wanted to come home. We walked through the park a couple times. Then came home, on the way back to GCT we stopped at a store (again I can’t remember the name) where she found clothes she has been looking for at a good price.

We got home in time to watch the game, but my feet really hurt now.

Anniversary present and new earring

Em’s anniversary is coming up soon. A while back she was talking about her next piercing. Then the washer died, motor burned out. So she was bummed, cause she wanted an iPad and a new piercing. So told her I would pay for her next piercing. D was planning on surprising her with an iPad, but that plan and to be put on hold because of a mess up with the IRS.

Today I noticed a spot on my ear next to my blue diamond, looked like the skin had come off. I mentioned to Em that I wanted her to look at my ear and I was thinking of getting a different earring at Maria Tash, she asked me to pick out her earring when I went, so I decided to leave work a little early and go down to the store and do that, I didn’t mean I was going that day, but it worked out. I ordered Em’s earring, platinum with a black diamond, and the piercer checked my ear and then put my new earring in, its a fixed bead ring with an opal. She told me it is harder to get in and out but since I don’t plan on changing it I am not worried. It would look really pretty if I didn’t have this red spot on my ear. When it clears up I will post a picture.

>Manhattan again

>Taking up space at the library while Em gets her nails done. The last time we were here, well no not the last time, the last time it rained like a bitch and we didn’t do anything. The time before that we talked about how music moved us. That is really all we do, we just walk and talk, we mix up some shopping and eating among that, but mainly, we talk and we walk. Reliving our teenage years, this time doing it right and having fun. It may sound boring, but I can’t think of a better way to spend a day then with your best friend in a place you both love to be.

Today we are going to get our piercings checked. Mine because its been a month, hers because it hasn’t been healing properly. I think about telling her, welcome to the club, I have two that refuse to heal. Both are almost a year old.

Blogger has come up with some new templates and features. I tried them out on my craft blog … problem is, I have customized all my blogs and I reallty don’t want to lose those custimazations (I have no idea if that is really a word). I just went to the craft blog on this computer and it is PINK! not the nice shaded kind of lavenderish color it was at home. I don’t have the old template here (duh) so I will have to wait to get home to change it back.

I have a few more things to do on this computer then it will be time to meet Em and go see Ashley. Speaking of Ashley, I have to go tweet now.

>Wednesday

>My regular Wednesday off. I had planned to do a lot, and I did, just not exactly what I had planned. I got my taxes done, I got my reimbursement request sent, I bought tickets from Stubhub. I went through my books and sent a list to trade. I like my books and I really don’t want to part with them. However, sending them to someone who also likes to read doesn’t feel bad.

The things I wanted to do but didn’t were going to exercise and do laundry. The laundry didn’t get done because the washing machine was occupied, exercise was just, I got there and didn’t feel like going in. I can’t go tomorrow because for some reason I have to take Tigger to the Verizon store which I really don’t want to do, I want to go exercise and take a nice shower. I don’t see how I can do both. It always takes so long at the Verizon store. For some reason I am the only one who can take him. I want to post about the concert but I need to scan the tickets so you can understand what happened and when I was connected to my scanner I forgot all about them.

It seems kind of lame to end a post like this, but I don’t really have much else to say.

>Inhalers and Epipen

>I got a new purse today. Since I buy purses a lot I don’t bother with expensive so it is a cheap Target bag. It is a little smaller then my old one which is a problem, I like to carry my wallet, my appointment book, my notebook and my camera with me. I can’t fit all that in the new purse, reason being I have to carry an inhaler and two epipens. I don’t know if that is the correct way to write that work, my computer keeps giving me the red squiggly line. Well, I am sure you know what I mean.

It means I hate having allergies and asthma. I have never had to use an epipen and I rarely use my inhaler, however, I don’t want to be without either if I should need them.

Later today we are going to Daughtry/Lifehouse concert. I was going to be watching the game, but it is cancelled due to rain.

>Short post

>I had a great post in mind, it is gone, I am so tired just a few updates.

The Governor might not make it to the end of his term. We are taking bets on him leaving office in a box or handcuffs.

I updated the picture in my sidebar to show off my new piercing.

I got my replacement shoes and they are the same color as the shoes I returned.

My new computer came, the boy tested it out, installed iTunes and set up the wifi. And all he asks in return is some Skittles …. and an iTunes card …. and a new bluetooth. Well I guess since I didn’t have to pay for the computer

I can’t think what else. Good-night.

>We got another little storm

>I came home from work early yesterday. Em called and said it was sleeting at home, so even though it was just rain in NYC, I came home. It was kind of nasty, not so nasty that I couldn’t take Gwen up to the DCC South Campus to pick something up for the disabilities office. Not that it did any good, since when she and Stitch left this morning, they couldn’t get out of the development. The problem with living in a private development is one has to wait for the landlord (or his maintenance guy, who he doesn’t pay just gives him a place to live) to come clear the roads; on the plus side, he plows out the driveway so we don’t have to.

So here is what the road in front of our house looked like this morning. It has since been sort of cleaned up. I’m glad since I have to go out in a little bit. We are supposed to get more snow, which means the possibility of a snow day (except today wasn’t my day off, it was my regular Wednesday off) and if we are having a snow day I have to have chips, and hot cocoa, and cinnamon sugar oatmeal. You get the idea. I am also sure that Amy needs gas, so I will need to put some in her.

Even though I didn’t go out I had a productive day. My order came from VSD, two pairs of shoes, but one was the wrong color. So I called them and the lady was ever so nice, she is shipping out the correct color by Express Mail (I never use Express Mail) and I have 30 days to ship the other shoes back (I am sure they will be going back in a lot less time) with no charge to me.

Then since I got new shoes, I had to clean out my closet. I had a bunch of boxes (don’t know what I was saving them for) and a few pairs of shoes that I never wear, a couple of them I tried to put on and they were too tight, I think my feet have grown.

Last thing I did was go to church, which they rushed through so everyone could get home early. After that I put gas in Amy and went to the grocery store, to get the above mentioned chips and hot cocoa in case we have a snow day tomorrow.

What was I saying?

I have this thing where I feel I need to write things in sequential order. For example, I don’t want to blog about Monday before I blog about the weekend. Not that anything exciting happened either time. Just that my thoughts about Monday have to come after my thoughts about the weekend. Which is kind of stupid, I think, but I still have a problem with it. I could always blog about my weekend now in this e-mail post, but I had pictures to go with it. Not special pictures, just of the mountain and the clouds.

Last night I was going to post the pictures and everything, but I won an award on my other blog so I had to take care of that. Acceptance speech, where to send the money, who to invite to the ceremony, I kid. After I did all that is involved in a blog award it was late and I had to check my messages and then had to reply. There are some people I drop everything to reply to. There are others … well you know. It’ll be a cold day in ….
On Saturday Em and I ordered tires for Amy. Stitch has been having to put air in one of the tires every other day, or every third day, I forget. So the tires are ordered and when they come in he can take the car and get the tires put on. Then we went to Danbury since she wanted to go to Sephora. Of course that is a dangerous place to go for me, I now want some glitter eyeshadow from Urban Decay. I put some on and it looked so cool. OK I now have my happenings out of order, I will just have to deal.
On the way to Danbury she told me D has decided on surgery rather then radiation treatments. Actually she told me Friday, in a text message, in her text message she said, “If momma ain’t happy, nobody’s happy”. Saturday she told me, ‘D told the kids last night he was having surgery.’ It is scheduled for May 4 which coincidentally is the day before their anniversary. I’m guessing, (and this is just a guess, based on previous conversations with her) that when she told him that if he got his parts irradiated, there would be no sex until the radiation was out of his system, he started leaning toward surgery. Sometimes, men are so easy. When they are not being freakin’ idiots that is.
There was more I was going to say, it has departed the brain. Yesterday morning I was 135.8, so I am happy happy. 20 pounds to go to my goal goal, .8 to my first goal. With a little bit to lose, I celebrate every 5 pounds.
