>Snowy Wednesday

>today was my regular Wednesday off, where my favorite thing to do is stay in bed as long as I possibly can. So that is what I was doing, until there was a knock on my door. Tigger has sold something else and wanted me to take him to the guy who bought it to get the money. Now it wasn’t super early but it was before I wanted to get up.

So I got up, got dressed, put on my face (well sort of) and went out to the car, I started to brush snow off the door and he and Fred came running up, Tigger said, “Don’t bother because the roads are bad and just getting worse so we are going to wait.” Until when? Until the roads are worse? No until Saturday, so I went back in the house, but I was up and now I was in a bad mood. As I looked at my bed and decided that I really couldn’t go back to bed, face on and contacts in, so I decided to go get an egg sandwich for breakfast. I left through the basement so no one would see me but . . .

“Where are you going? Can we come with you?” So I ended up with company for breakfast and was buying two egg sandwiches and a bagel, one latte and one coffee (for Fred, with hazelnut syrup and milk and vanilla powder) instead of breakfast for one. The roads were clear, the road crews were keeping up with the snow after all. So instead of going home we went to Target, I still hadn’t gotten WD-40 and the boys didn’t really want to go home.

At Target they wanted to look at computer games, on the way to the games they saw the long underwear and wanted some, they were on sale so I said O.K. I said no to the game. Then I picked up a flash drive, when Tigger saw it, he said there were 4 gig at BestBuy for less, so I sent him and Fred there while I paid for the stuff at Target and put it in the car. The flash drive was actually more, but it is cuter and purple! Then we came home and as we walked in the door I realized I still hadn’t bought WD-40. **Heavy sigh**

>more on Saturday

>One of the problems posting a week later is the things I forget.

Such as, as I was walking to meet Em I stopped at a street vendor’s table, this one was selling pictures of NYC. As I was looking at the pictures I saw one of the Manhattan skyline. The old, pre-9/11 skyline and thinking, how can they sell this? Why would anyone buy it? The vendor came over telling me the prices, I am sure he thought since I was standing there looking at the pictures so intently I wanted to buy. So I did, 3 for $10, I got a picture of Central Park, (I gave it to Em), a picture of Time Square (gave to a friend) and a picture of the Chrysler Building (I’m keeping that one, no idea where I am going to hang it.

>I was so annoyed

>This morning started good, well sort of good. Had to wear my jacket because all my clean tops are too thin and small. Caught my train, was sitting nice and comfy, and what happened? I’m sure you can guess, equipment change in Croton. So I got to stand from Croton to Grand Central Terminal. Joy. I hope tomorrow the same thing doesn’t happen, from things I heard, it might.

Oh and my teapot came. I didn’t open it, I am taking it to work.

>Getting ready for Friday

>was what I did yesterday, first I went to Kingston to give them $200 for the fine privilege of speeding through their city. That done I decided to do some shopping to see if I could find a new top for Friday, I didn’t, so I bought a new pair of earrings. Shhh! Don’t tell anyone. Then I went to get my hair done, can’t go to a rock concert with gray roots. I also went to Allsport, that wasn’t for the concert, that was for my own personal health. Now I just have to decide what to wear tomorrow.

Also, I decided that I am not going to get anymore piercings, since I have 9, like the players on the baseball diamond.

>Things I love about NYC

>No not a new feature. Just my observations.

It is Christmas. For the record, I don’t celebrate Christmas. But I love to shop and this time of year is great for shopping, especially in New York. For one thing the holiday fairs. One is in Grand Central Terminal and another is in Bryant Park. At the one in Bryant Park is the booth pictured at right. I don’t know what the name means, but in this booth they are selling bags made from candy wrappers and pages from magazines. I am sure if you went on the website for them (which I haven’t done since I don’t really care) they would explain the whole process.

I bought this little bag, it is the perfect size for my camera and since I just bought a larger pocket book (so I could carry my Sony reader), it fits in there. The only thing I didn’t like, was I was here with Em and there was one in purple. I didn’t have enough money so I didn’t get one, when I came back there were no more purple ones.

There was also this place called Om Aroma & Co., Transform your skin the organic way. Em bought this hand cream that was oh, exquisite.

Another thing I like about shopping in New York at Christmas time is that for me, no parking issues! I also like the lights. They are pretty.

>Ever have a busy day that you didn’t seem to have anything to show for it?

Saturday seems like that, like I was going all day and now I can’t remember what I did. I know I did some shopping and got my hair cut, but what else? Let’s see, trying not delve into minutia of my day. I went to get coffee and apple fritter, then I went to Target, I stopped to get my hair cut after Target I went to Allsport to work out. Before I started to work out I discovered I needed a feminine care product, which I then realized I did not have. I realized this after frantically searching through my gym bag. They have dispensers in the bathroom to buy this product, I put a quarter in and didn’t get anything. So I put everything back into my gym bag and went home to get some. The creepy guy was at the front desk so I didn’t tell anyone about losing a quarter.

Traffic was slow on 52 after I got home and got my ‘personal things’ and was getting ready to leave D said, “You want to go out with 84 the way it is?” I left for two reasons, (1) I was not going on 84, (2) I had to go to Allsport, it wasn’t a choice. But the problem on 84 explains why the traffic was slow on 52, but it wasn’t bad going up to Allsport. Then I remembered I had forgotten to go to Office Depot, I wanted to get something to put my autographed picture in.

Now I know why I was busy all day and feel like I got nothing done, I kept having to backtrack and repeat trips! However I did get everything done that I wanted to get done.

>A borrowed post

>I have some blogs that show up on my iGoogle home page, ‘Brit Gal in the USA’ is one of them. Today I saw the title of her post was Cute and Practical. So I clicked on it and up came this picture of this absolutely adorable tea pot! I want one, just in purple not pink. I know this one is not pink, but the one Brit Gal got is pink, that is why I said purple not pink. Anyway, I am definitely getting one. At least one, I might decide I need two, one for home and one for work.

If you would like a closer look at it you can click on the link to Brit Gal’s post or click here.

>Bedtime

>past bedtime actually. Story of my life, I am doing good if I get to sleep before midnight. Em and I went shopping this morning. I had coupon for Victoria’s Secret that I got when I ordered some things from them. $10 dollars off anything. So she got underwear and I got some sleep tops. You are supposed to wear them with pajama bottoms, but since I never wear the bottoms anyway, well I do, but not always.

We also went to JoAnn Fabrics and I got blue thread to sew on my patch. The patch had sticky stuff on the back, but the sticky stuff is not designed to hold the patch on the clothing you want to put the patch on. It looks very sharp if I do say so myself.

Other then that not much going on today. Em roasted chicken for dinner and baked brownies with sticky chocolate icing.

Rain Rain Go Away

Em and I decided to go to the city today. Trying to make up for last week. She also had a nail appointment. After stopping at Starbucks for yogurt and a cup of tea, we started out. We were extremely early, but Em wanted to see the shops at Bryant Park. First though we stopped at Sephora because we both had coupons.

They had some pretty nice stuff at Bryant Park, this one place had this beautiful Amethyst necklace that I want. Em and I will definitely be back. I want to go when I have some money but after I get my next tattoo. I will be posting a picture when I get it. As Em said, a tattoo is forever but a necklace can get broken or lost.

These are spinners, you hang them up inside or outside and they spin. They are really neat looking. Unfortunately it was a little on the chilly side, and it started raining. D had said it was going to stop, but when I checked the weather forecast, that’s not what it said, and it didn’t. After she was done getting her nails done and we were looking for someplace to get lunch, it was so cold and nasty she asked me if I wanted to head back to GCT and get lunch at Annie Moore’s. I said yes. I was especially glad to leave after the taxi drove through the water so fast I got splashed in my face!
I really wanted pictures of Central Park with snow. It was supposed to snow, but it didn’t. Actually it did start to snow. When we were on the train headed home. **pout**

>I am so glad it is Halloween

>Yes really, cause it means it will be OVER soon. I hate Halloween. Even so it was an O.K. day. Went to Allsport with Em, did the elliptical and weights. Then she and D went out to lunch. I was bored and wanted to go out, I also wanted lunch. Tigger mentioned candy corn, and so off we went, stopped to eat and I got a lemonade, which I managed to spill all over my jacket. It seems every time I wear that jacket I get something on it.

Then we went to Target where I had the second disappointment of the day. No regular candy corn, they had the ‘harvest’ candy corn and ‘caramel’ candy corn. So Tigger picked up some Hot Tamales and I got some milk duds. While leaving Target, Tigger turned to me and said, “Halloween has changed, it is no longer about trying to get free candy, now it is, how much like a whore can a pre-teen girl look?” He went on to say he just a girl, couldn’t have been more then 10 with a skirt just covering her butt.

Since I had already planned to go to the laundromat, the lemonade on the jacket was no big deal. I got Gwen to go with me, washed the jacket and my whites and put them in the dryer, and the jacket wouldn’t dry. When I got home my clothes from the other are also still not dry. The de-humidifier is gone, so I have a fan set up, hopefully it will help them dry so I can wear something Monday.
