>Last Saturday and Sunday

>Saturday was a fun day, Gwen and I did some errands in the morning, then we went to the park, I forgot my camera so I took pictures with my phone. Funny pictures like this one, similar to one I took before with Gwen. Then she got in the spirit of things and took this picture of me. But what was I taking a picture of?

Well her, of course!

Then Sunday morning, Tigger made a long arduous trip from his bedroom to the living room. It just wore him out.

>Men are stupid

>I realize that is a very general statement and that I might have some male readers that take offense at it. However, I am actually talking about one man in particular, and I am not the one who made the statement.

Today I didn’t really have anything planned, so I just got up and got breakfast and loafed around the living room. Em went someplace with D but when she got home she asked me to take her grocery shopping. This is where stupid starts. The reason she needed me to take her to do her errands was today D was getting the piano and instead of renting a truck to transport it, he decided it would fit in Em’s mini van.

So he had the kids take the seats out and he and Nick went up to get it. After Em and I had finished getting groceries she gets a call from D asking her to get plastic, which she couldn’t do because we had stuff in the car that needed to be refrigerated. She was annoyed since she didn’t know why he needed the plastic and started thinking that maybe nobody showed up to help and now he needed to cover the seats with the plastic. She called back and asked him how much plastic did he need what was he using it for? Turns out he broke the back window of the van and needed to cover it. When we got home, the entire back window was gone. So to save $20 on a truck rental, it cost Em over $30 for the plastic and duct tape and the inconvenience of her now having to get it replaced. Also, as she said it cut into my time to get my hair done.

I later found out from Tigger how it happened. Just let me say that things on wheels roll, and when a piano hits a window . . . Tigger went with me to get my hair done, he needed a hair cut and a new wallet. Then after we had dinner the kids wanted to play Pictionary and D said he would play then he sat down at the computer, I went downstairs after about 30 minutes. Thinking, why did he say he would play when he knew he had other stuff to do. Why didn’t he just wait to say he would play until he was ready.

And I haven’t posted since Wednesday, I mean, like really posted, sat here and thought up something clever and witty to say out of my brain.

Every other Wednesday is a RDO for me, that stands for Regular Day Off, the Department is calling it a Pass Day. So what did I do Wednesday? Well, a lot of nothing really, and a lot of something. LOL. I walked with Gwen, we went to the library. Her idea, went online but didn’t have enough time to really do anything. Had lunch with Em. Got ice cream for Fred since he had come home sick from school, played Pictionary, see what I mean by nothing and something?

Thursday was a regular work day and today Em and Tigger went to Manhattan, South Street Seaport where she got a ankle chain and a top really cheap. I had my eye doctor appointment, I now need bi-focal lenses. But I got my contacts, I just have to not wear them from 6:00 a.m. to midnight. I should get to bed earlier than midnight anyway, since I get up at 5:00 a.m. Afterwards we met at Annie Moore’s, we had planned to go to Marie Belle, but Em had a blister on the bottom of her foot. This was on top of the blister she got when she and I were in Manhattan. So we just came home. See her take on the day at her blog, Marcie’s Manhattan.

090521-10321On another note, someone made a comment about my piercing post, so we sent a few e-mails back and forth, I decided to see if I could get a picture of my ear and here it is! I already got an “Awww it’s cute!” I am now thinking about getting a third hole, but I don’t know if there is room on my little ear.

>Late posts

>I have started carrying a notebook around with me and jotting down thoughts. It is for this blog, it has pluses and minuses. The pluses are I don’t have to worry about forgetting what I was going to say because I have it written down, since I just write a thought, I can embellish it and just get totally creative here instead of just retyping what I wrote, then going back to make it make sense.

The minus is: I don’t have to worry about forgetting what I was going to say because I have it written down, and therefore, sometimes I am posting about what happened three days ago and it is no longer fresh and my post ends up being huge.

For instance on Monday 18 May 2009 my notes are as such:
Fred 2 hours late
Buddy bit my finger.

Tuesday is much the same: Tuesday 19 May 2009
had to scrape ice (frost) off car windshield.
Dr’s appt.
Forgot eyedrops to buy them @ DR $12. Eyes itching now.
Test fire alarm ~ bell next to my desk. Annoying and giving me headache.
Left work early went DT got ears pierced 2nd time 2nd hole.

Now does that make any sense to you? Makes sense to me, lets see, Fred 2 hours late, Em told him to be home at 5:30 p.m. He was still not home when she picked me up at the train station after 7:00 p.m. D and Tigger were out looking for him. Worse, he was not replying to the text messages she sent him. It got to the point she was on the phone with the police to report him missing when he walked in the door. He is now not allowed to go anywhere by himself. Buddy bit my finger. I was giving him cat lax, cause he threw up, he bit my finger trying to get the cat lax off my finger. Cat is a maniac.

Tuesday’s is a little better. had to scrape ice (frost) off car windshield. I was not having a flashback, on the 19th of May, it was cold enough that I had to scrape frost off the window. Dr’s appt. Dermatologist to see how the rosacea is doing. Also to get that spot on my ankle tested. Forgot eyedrops to buy them @ DR $12. Eyes itching now. The eye doctor gave me a sample of eye drops to use until I see her again, cause my eyes have dry spots. Anyway, I remember puting them in my eyes and holding the bottle, that’s all. To buy a bottle was $12 at Duane Reade so I didn’t get them. Test fire alarm ~ bell next to my desk. Annoying and giving me headache. I do not like it when I get to work and the strobe lights are flashing. Nothing wrong, just testing the system. Between the constant, “Attention Attention, we are testing the fire alarm, please disregard.” and that thing blasting from the speaker near my desk I thought I was either going to go deaf or go crazy. Left work early went DT got ears pierced 2nd time 2nd hole. Partly because of the alarm and partly because I wanted to get my ears pierced, I left work early. When I was living in Buffalo, I got a second hole in my ears. I had since let it close over due to wanting to please someone. Not only is that person no longer around, I have decided to stop doing things for others to that extent. So I went to the Piercing place and now I have two holes in each ear. I haven’t told Em, I am waiting to see if she notices. (No I don’t have pitcures. I would have to take them myself and I don’t think I can get that close with my camera.)

>On Satuday the 16th of May 2009

>Em and I went to Manhattan. We had no specific plans, Em wanted to walk around the north end of Central Park, she mentioned the Museum of the City of New York. I love this city. Not only does it have its own museum, the department stores and library have tours!

When we got home, my legs were aching, so I took a bath, as I soaked in the tub, I tried to think of how I would describe this wonderful feeling of the hot water on the sore muscles. I couldn’t come up with the words, all I could think of was ahhh. I had already written some things down to type in here and after my bath I came downstairs to type my blog post, I picked up my note book and this is what I wrote:

I am stopping now to go to bed at 10:38! Can you believe it? I am so beat and I feel like crap. Good night.

When we got to Grand Central Terminal on Saturday we made our usual trek to Central Park, its about a mile*. Its a pretty normal walk for us now. Central Park covers 843 acres, which is 6% of Manhattan. The Park stretches from Central Park South (59th St.) to 110th St. at the northern end (2.6 miles/4.19 km) and from 5th Ave. on the East Side to Central Park West (8th Ave.) on the West Side (0.5 miles/0.8 km).

The museum is at 1220 Fifth Avenue which is between 103rd St and 104th St. It is in a part of 5th Ave called Museum Mile. There is where the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is (at 89th Street) and The Jewish Museum (at 92nd Street), neither museum is high on my list of museums to see. We had lunch at a place called Paola’s on Madison. Then we went to the museum. Camera’s were allowed, but not flashes. My camera has a museum setting but some of the exhibits were dark and didn’t turn out well. This is a model of the Half Moon, and cases were glass with black shelves, so if the item being displayed was dark, you can’t really see it in the picture. Some displays however, showed up beautifully. I didn’t make a note of this artist’s name, but he has done a wonderful job combining art and history.

We left the museum and headed to the West side so we could go to the crocs store. We had seen these tables set up before and decided they must be for a charity walk of some sort. We were right, there was an Aids Walk on Sunday between 8:30 and 10:00 am. We walked past the American Museum of Natural History located at 79th Street and Central Park West. We didn’t go in, not on my list of museums I want to see, but I took pictures of the outside, and a statue of Theodore Roosevelt. I also took pictures of lots of flowers in Central Park, Ballfields, Statues and the reservoir, where some of the scenes from Marathon Man were filmed. They are all in the side show. I took out the other pictures so the only pictures there are from Saturday. I also sniffled my way across the park. Stuff is blooming! Next time I will have to remember my Flonase.

>Just got in from watching the New Star Trek movie, but it is about the old Star Trek, as in it goes back to the beginning of Kirk, before he was Captain Kirk. Anyway, I saw this picture, and so I copied it to put here, enjoy!

course I really have a crush on Spock.

>This is why you should carry your camera with you, because you might find a broken umbrella and you can take a picture of it and send it to Better off Soaked like I did when I saw this umbrella in the subway station on my way home from work. It had poured that day, nasty thunderstorm. I took the picture and e-mailed it, the words are all hers.

>Migraine

>Today was going to be a great day, a day I didn’t have to do anything, until I woke up with a headache, so I took Tigger and we went out, first I stopped at Starbucks to get a coffee, hoping the caffeine would knock out the headache, then we went up to the mall, I wanted to get a new flash drive, for a little bit more I got this.

It has a ton more storage space and is more what I wanted. I got that at Best Buy and looked at the net books while I was there. I saw one I really want. Then went to Target and got the other stuff I wanted then stopped at the gas station for gas and more caffeine, it didn’t help, I took a Maxalt when I got home and laid down, then got up, thinking I needed something to eat, I made some toast, couldn’t eat it, went back to bed, got up again and had some Star Trek cereal dry, that worked and the headache was finally gone.

So not that it is time to go to bed I am feeling good!

>Long day, very long day.

>Started at 5:00 a.m. when I got up to get ready to go to the zoo for the walk to save the gorillas. It was 5 kilometers which is 3.107 miles. It took me about an hour to walk it. I thought that was pathetic, but Em said it was a healthy pace.

Last night when I took my bath and washed my hair, I braided it in two braids. I left them in while I was walking, then took them out when I changed clothes. So my hair had that wavy, curly look that most people like to see my hair in. Took us a while to find the subway but we did and headed for Tribeca. We were on a local, I counted the stops, when I got to 16 stops I stopped counting. We go off at 79th Street so we could go to Cafe Frida for lunch. We went across the street where they were having a street fair but didn’t see anything we wanted. Em had a headache so she hailed a cab and we went to Tribeca for the film festival, but we couldn’t find anything going on. We did find a Marie Belle on Broome Street, New York, NY and had the most luscious iced chocolate drink(it was spicy) and dessert.

I bought a bracelet for Gwen that is made up of charms with pictures of NYC in them. She liked it.

There was more that we did, but right now I am so tired, and I took a Tylenol® PM, so I really want to go to bed. See you later.
