>Two things of note from yesterday

>I went to my first Weight Watchers meeting. I have finally realized that I can’t do it on my own or do it online. So I have taken the plunge and paid for the monthly pass and I will lose these 25 pounds. So that’s it. And since I write everything about my life on here, I will of course keep you updated.

After the meeting Em and I went to the Yankee game, they won and then we went to Manhattan, walked through Central Park and Madison to GCT. Stopped at Bolton’s and Sephora, I bought eye shadow and didn’t check the color so I got the wrong color. Don’t know if I can return it, but I’m going to try. Then Annie Moore’s for dinner and then home.

A very good day.

>Manhattan

>Em had her nail appointment and I made a appointment for a pedicure, the color is off, it is more lavender then that. Getting a pedicure meant I wore my sandals which means my feet were hurting. I wanted to get some different ones from Crocs. I knew they would rub my feet but I had bandaids with me and I figured it would be easier to put them on the top of my feet then on the bottom, which is where they have to go with my red sandals, not only they, they clashed with the nail polish I picked out.

We had lunch, I don’t remember the name, which is unfortunate, since I don’t want to eat there again and not knowing the name, it could happen. Then Em started feeling ill and wanted to come home. We walked through the park a couple times. Then came home, on the way back to GCT we stopped at a store (again I can’t remember the name) where she found clothes she has been looking for at a good price.

We got home in time to watch the game, but my feet really hurt now.

>I am so tired

>and need my sleep. I have been having some late nights and really need to sleep now. But first I have to eat, but have nothing down here to eat. SIGH

>Time for bed

>Sitting here trying to think of something to say while I stuff myself with Milk Duds®. I can’t even of what I wanted to post earlier. Here’s the thing, on the train in the morning, I always am thinking of what I want to post, normally I get my phone out and send an e-mail here to post. This morning I was just so tired I didn’t. I kept thinking about all day and never did, and now I don’t remember.

The shower is leaking, D can’t do anything to fix it right now because he is still recovering from his surgery. I did my hair last night so I needed to wash it tonight, I figured the best thing to do would be to go to the gym. Then I decided since I was going to the gym I should work out and now my legs are sore.

Well, I am just rambling here so I will say goodnight.

>Tomorrow in Manhattan

>

I have a meeting to go to tomorrow, my former boss Gary (not his real name), will be there. I am NOT coming back to the office.

The only potential snag is my current boss may tell me I have to come back, pfft is what I say to that, and to him. Unfortunately, someone from my office is coming with me. He will be told, I have some things to take care of, what I won’t tell him is what it is I am taking care of.

D should be home tomorrow, which shouldn’t affect my ‘business’ in Manhattan. I hope to scan my postcard tomorrow for Friday’s post. See you later.

>Tigger and Em

>Were in the city today. They had an appointment at John Jay College. Tigger really liked it and would like to go there. He really loves the city as you can see from his Facebook update:

Then afterwards they walked around. Went to Shake Shack and got shakes, went to see the Dragon movie in 3D. I met up with them after work for dinner. Em and I split a hamburger at Annie Moore’s. Tigger had chicken fingers, since we were at Annie Moore’s we had to get Fred chicken too. They cook the chicken just right there.

>New Weather Report

>Now it is supposed to be sunny on Sunday, and raining next Saturday when Em and I come down to the city. We cannot seem to catch a break.

Now for my big news, I am finally someone. Really, I am not kidding, yesterday I got a gold Starbucks card, and for every 15 stars, I get a free drink, and I get 2 hours of free wi-fi a day. Of course, some might say that it means I spend too much money at Starbucks. It is not my fault that Starbucks is right around the corner from my gym and a skinny cinnamon dolce is only 90 calories, and it is the only place to get a latte after my workout? I like to reward myself for sweating. I really hate sweating.

That is not the only thing, I also received a platinum American Express Card. It has been a while since I have had a credit card and I plan on this being the only one and I am only using it for emergencies and concert and baseball tickets. You know the very important stuff.

Today I had to go out in the field with MVACW and the intern to collect mercury samples. Well, water samples that are going to be sampled for mercury. Anyway, I went to change into my work boots and didn’t have any socks. I normally keep them in my desk drawer. So I ran out to buy some, and all I could find were knee-hi’s so I bought a pack and wore two on each foot. That worked out so well I might wear them every time I have to wear my boots. Then after we were done sampling we got something to eat in Chinatown. Not a very exciting time, but I always like getting out of the office, especially on such a nice day.

Just another rainy day in NYC

Em had her nail appointment so we went. I overslept so I caught a later train. While she was getting her nails done I went to the crocs store, my old crocs needed replacing, and while they didn’t have the same style this style will do. The colored strip on the shoe is sort of a magenta. I don’t really like it, but it seems to be popular right now. My sketchers are black with magenta accent. It was cold and it was raining, maybe it felt so cold because of the rain, I took 20 pictures of ‘Broken Umbrellas’. Hopefully they will be up on ‘Better off soaked‘. At least some of them, I don’t expect all 20 of them to be up. I took them with my phone, since I am getting a new one next month. Cell phones don’t like the rain and eventually it quit on me. By then Em had met me for lunch at Connolly’s Pub and Restaurant on 45th and 6th. They had TV’s on in the pub, 4 on a basketball game, or different games, and one on a hockey game. WTF? I want to see baseball!

We had planned to go to Maria Tash since my ear is hurting, but decided it was too wet and left the pub, made a brief stop at Sephora and caught the early train home. So much for exploring, my jeans were soaked up to my thighs, my heavy outer jacket was soaked, my thin denim jacket was wet in spots, and my top had some wet spots on it. As soon as I got home, all the wet things came off and got hung up to dry.

When my Dad sent my this laptop he installed Skype on it. I decided to try it out this evening and call him. As we were talking a thing popped up that I could click to take a picture, so I did. No this is not my Dad, this is my Mom, HI MOM! The elbow next to her head is my dad’s elbow. What you don’t see is a little picture of me, in the video screen in the corner there is a little picture of me, so I can see what they are seeing. Gwen came in while we were talking and said hi, for a little bit. Then we hung up. Technology can be great sometimes. When it gets waterlogged, not so good. But my phone did dry out, and my ear is not hurting so bad, I think it was just a little irritated. Nothing to really worry about.

>Adventures in Commuting

>Yes, sometimes commuting is an adventure especially if you don’t know if you will make make it home without being arrested.

The adventure begins when I check my facebook status, what? No of course I wasn’t using my work computer. One of the kids had posted,
Oh bother. Then I got a text message from another child with the same message along with the suggestion to come home, nothing to do about it. Of course then I’m wondering if I get to Beacon if I’ll be able to get home from the train station. Without walking that is. So after opening the mail and putting the new toner in the storeroom I re-suited up to go outside.

In the two block walk, my coat got soaked, bottom two inches of my jeans got soaked, the back of my calves got soaked … but I did get a shot of a broken umbrella!

Then it was to Dishes for a grilled cheese sandwich because, I was hungry. Then to find a seat with a table, reason being the last time I ate a Dishes grilled cheese sandwich without a table I lost half of my sandwich to the floor. ‘Excuse me Miss, does your umbrella need its own seat? Thought so.’ “Side Car Dining Area” (should have taken a picture of that) usually has empty tables and chairs. I dumped my heavy bags on a chair and sat across from them and ate my sandwich. I like Dishes grilled cheese sandwich, except when they burn it.

My story has to end now, or at least pause, I am on the train and looking out the window at the snow covered earth. The next stage begins in Beacon.

>I always do this

>Everytime Em and I go to Manhattan, I say, to myself usually, that I am going to blog about it Sunday. Everytime. And here I am again, a week later and nothing is written about it. Not to mention all the other things I have floating around in my head waiting to be blogged about. I have these wonderfully written posts written in my head and that is exactly where they stay, in my head until they disappear and then I sit here thinking, Now what was I going to say?

The last time we went to the city, which was a week ago yesterday, don’t want anyone to get their Saturdays confused here, we took Tigger and Fred. It had snowed and they wanted to see Central Park covered in snow, they also wanted to go to the Apple Store. When we got to GCT, Em was leaving for her nail appointment, leaving the boys with me, and they wanted to leave. I told them, I have to have my tea and yogurt from Starbucks, they wanted to know if they could start off and I catch up, Em and I both said, “NO”. So they waited. We left GCT and as we were walking down 42nd Street to 5th Avenue, one of them says, “I need a bathroom.” HUH? Weren’t we just at GCT, where there are bathrooms and why didn’t you say something then? ‘I didn’t have to go then.’ So So SO aggravating. The only place I could think of to take them was the library, and then I walked the wrong way on 5th Ave. Then I told them not to lose sight of me, and they said they didn’t, but I couldn’t see them. I was a little annoyed. Then in the park they started kicked a snow clot around. It got smaller and smaller until it was no more, no problem, they just got another. I was annoyed, as Em said later, she would have just ignored them. But since I’m not their mother, I don’t have that luxury. I tried to ignore them, watching the seals swim around and around, don’t they know how cold it is? Then Tigger gave me the camera, because he didn’t want anything to happen to it in his quest for revenge. Then Fred came back to stand between me and the fence, away from Tigger and when I looked at Tigger he had ice on his face and he was bleeding. When I told him that, he announced that Fred was now dead. This video was taken with my cell phone.

The cuts on his face from the ice weren’t that bad, and his eye didn’t swell up too bad, and he did eventually forgive his brother. Em met up with us in the park, pretty steamed up because she had a hard time finding us. Partially my fault, I told her we were near Wollman Rink. I said that because there was a sign with an arrow, guess we weren’t really that close to it. We took a carriage ride through the park (Em had promised Fred), with a smelly rug that was supposed to keep our legs warm. The driver pointing out where all the celebrities owned apartments. None of them were celebrities we cared about.

We finished up the day meeting a friend of the boys at Annie Moore’s for dinner. Em was proud of herself for not getting a scotch. Next up I will tell you about yesterday. Not nearly as exciting.
