>but I just wanted to post some more. Problem is, I can’t remember what I had to say. I need to type my review of Dancing with Ana, so I can then post my review of The White Queen, tomorrow the contest ends. So if you haven’t entered, get over there and enter!

After work Nick and I went to Kohl’s (yes I know I was supposed to go to Allsport, I was too tired) and I got another pair of shorts. I also tried on this really cute skirt. It fit but it was too short. Tomorrow is the Loggins & Messina concert. I am not going, Em and Gwen are going and maybe D. Gwen wants me to use her real name in here but I am so used to Gwen, and besides you already know her as Gwen and that would just confuse everything.

I am now caught up with the number of posts for this month, I just have to post twice a day until the end of the month. With nothing going on, expect short posts.

More about Blogger and the Yankees

It is weird but I can post on this blog, but not my book blog. I hope the problem is fixed by Friday, that is when I have to do the drawing for one of my giveaways. Every time I try to do something on that blog or go to my dashboard, I get an error message.

Yesterday we(by me I mean Em, D, Fred and I) went to the Yankees vs. Blue Jays game. D and Fred sat together, Em and I sat together (we got the tickets separately so we weren’t all sitting together, plus D had a problem with the tickets he bought) I took this photo with my phone, I don’t know why, since I had my camera with me(No matter, now I have a new wallpaper for my phone). The Yankees scored early, then the Jays got one ahead. Then nothing till the 8th inning. Em and I both thought Joba Chamberlain was not all we had heard him to be and were less then impressed with Hideki Matsui, so much so that when he came up to bat I went on Facebook and was about to type, ‘I am less then impressed with Hideki Matsui’ when the crowd makes the sound it makes when something is happening and I looked up to see the ball making a perfect arc into the stands. I almost dropped my phone, the guy across the aisle was high-fiving people and I think he injured my wrist. Then Jorge Posada was up, and he hit a home run too! Then they said the play was under review. The crowd booed. The umps decided it was a home run after all. Then the Yankees scored another run. It was Yankees 7, Blue Jays 5, the Yankees sent in Mariano Rivera and they won the ball game. It was also announced that it was Melky Cabrera 25th birthday. So our men (Derek and Mark) didn’t hit any home runs, but Derek scored the first run of the game and they got a lot of Blue Jays out. Since Joba wasn’t striking them out.

>I was trying to get to my dashboard, and I keep getting an error message. Grrr! That is so frustrating. Yes, Blogger is definitely having problems. I am watching the bottom and it keeps telling me ‘Autosave failed.’ Which makes me wonder why I am even typing this since I probably won’t be able to post it! I was going to post about yesterdays game and I should have done before now. So now it won’t work and in a little while I have to get ready for church and I will fall further behind in my post numbers for the month.

>Week late

>I am behind on my blogging yet again. Summer seems to be a time when everything slows down, except giveaways. I have been getting e-mails for giveaways and it seems that I have no time for this blog. Not true.

First the giveaway, if you have never been to Bella is reading, and you like Philippa Gregory, make sure you stop by. I am running a giveaway for her new book, The White Queen.

Back to last Sunday, D and the kids went to a Star Trek convention in New Jersey. They were very excited because Leonard Nimoy was scheduled to be there and taking pictures with fans. Anyway, Em and I thought that since they were blowing off church to go to see Spock, we could blow off church to go to Manhattan. A while back, while I was reading Daryl’s blog and she mentioned the High Line (click here), I told Em I wanted to go there. She had heard about it also, but from another source (more about that later). So we went to the city and started the trek down to 20th Street and 10th Avenue. While walking along 10th Ave she mentions, “There’s Chelsea Piers.” We get to the High Line. It was threatening rain so not many people were there. There were a couple of nice men that welcomed us. There was much to take photos of.

(Yes, I am having fun with Picasa collage maker.)

Lots of indigenous plants and cool places to sit pretty neat over all.

It was then that I noticed that Em wasn’t taking pictures of the High Line. She was taking pictures off the High Line, toward the river. I asked her, “Are you taking pictures of Chelsea Piers?” One look at her face told me she was. Then when I caught up to her she asks, “What was that line Logan said to Barack?” Huh? “In ‘The Wee Small Hours’, when Logan and Barack come up here and Barack says the city is turning this into a park, what did Logan say?” Then I realized where she had heard of the High Line. From LOCI! These pictures are also in my slide show down on the right, along with pictures from the Today Show.
Then we walked uptown, thinking we would go to Central Park, but the weather had other ideas. It started to rain, and I do mean rain. We ended up taking a cab to Cafe Frida, where I discovered this wonderful Mexican Anisette Liqueur and Em had Flan. Then we went home. Cause we were soaked.

>to blog. Especially from my phone. No spell check, and no way to make paragraphs. I also live in fear of pushing the wrong button and losing a big long post that has taken me forever to type. However it is also the best way to blog from work. This way I will have to post about our trip to the High Line and how wet we got Sunday when I come back to clean up and make it pretty. I also will have to put my pictures on the web.

>Facebook is the DEVIL!!!

>O.K. Not really. But whenever I come on my computer with every intention of blogging and getting everyone caught up on my life or writing a review(that I promised someone, that I am now behind on), I go to check my Facebook account. Then 3 hours later, I am too tired to do anything else. It is not really Facebook’s fault, I need more hours in the day. It’s the sun’s fault!

I promised you a post on Pershing Square, however before I do that I have to tell you about the hair. It started with the hair, blond hair on the sidewalk in front of our house(probably, I mean I certainly hope so, a wig), then it was on the street in front of our house. Now it is in the street but down at the corner, it is starting to look really sad. For those of you who are thinking, “Why all this fuss?” or “Why doesn’t she just go pick it up and toss it in the trash?”, I will tell you a little secret. Hair creeps me out. Yes really, when I take my blankets out of the dryer and my hair is all tied up in little clumps and falls out, it looks like a bug or spider and I jump, then I realize it is just my hair that came out and was in my blankets and I get all creeped out.

So why is Pershing Square the best place to have breakfast? Is it because they seat you really fast? no, but they do. Is it because the food comes out really fast? no, but it does. Is it because my order(so far) is always right? no, but it has been. Is it because the food is really good and cooked exactly to order? no, but it is(except today, they didn’t burn my bacon which I asked them too but the chef probably thought that was illegal). Is it because the busboys run around clearing tables super fast and never break a dish? no, but I have never heard a dish break and they are super fast. Is it because I’ve seen the wait staff running with food and never drop even a piece of potato? no, but I have. Is it because the food is super cheap? No, hey its in Manhattan across from GCT, its not cheap. Pershing Square is the best place to have breakfast in NYC because of all those things. It is worth the price.

>Now everyone knows that . . .

>Bella is an insecure whiney little thing. LOL! But it sometimes helps to whine a little. See, J. Kaye from J. Kaye’s Book Blog took pity on me and tweeted about my giveaway, and now people have entered! It is actually going to be a contest now! I am so happy. Yes really, now off to find a life.

In other news, Em got a new car, a blue Hyundai Elantra. They got a rebate from Hyundai and cash from the government for D’s old van so everyone is happy.

My mother called, she is home and feeling alright. She doesn’t know yet if she’ll have to have additional treatment. Test results are not in yet.

Lastly, my belly is healing and still looks oh so cute!

>I’m Sad

>Sometimes it’s better not to know things. Like I used to not have a site meter. I just assumed that if no one was commenting, then no one was reading and I was happy. Then I got a site meter, and the numbers showed that people were reading my blog, how exciting! As the numbers went up, my mood went up. I was happy, then this morning I got my weekly report that said I have an average of 1 person reading my blog. That made me sad. Now I want a pity party, on the count of three everybody go ‘Ahhh, poor Bella, she has no life!” Er, I mean, well you know what I mean. Pity party over.

Adding to the site meter report is the fact that so far on my book giveaway I have one person entered. ONE PERSON! And supposedly I have more readers on that blog. Sigh. I am going to have to take drastic measures to get more entries. The giveaway is only for another week. For a while I was afraid I was going to
(a) tell the publishers that I had no entries; or
(b) lie and make up some entries (you know, give them the addresses of friends and family).

Well now I have one entry. Hopefully I’ll get at least one more before the end of the week.

Sometimes I am stupid
When I made my nail appointment I didn’t check my work schedule so here I am in a bar (Yes! a bar! Don’t judge me, it’s a nice place attached to a restaurant and in GCT, how much nicer can you get?) waiting until its time to head to the nail salon.

What made me pick up my pen was the thought or question, how do other people see things? Is that a valid question or is it the Negra Modela talking? Here’s how the scene played out if I was were writing a book.

The bartender watched as she moved from one barstool to the other, as she placed her pocketbook on the bar and carefully arranged her ball cap, with her sunglasses and cellphone inside it, her water, beer, basket of chips in a precise semi-circle around her napkin. She picked up her cell phone, smiling at the text message she received and he wondered.

Does anyone else think like that?

>So anyway

>after all that posting about not posting and how I was getting back to it . . .

Wednesday Em and I came to the city. She took the day off, and it was my RDO. She had an appointment to get her nails done, I wanted to look for shorts. Been looking for a new pair for a while. The main problem is I don’t want to pay $30 for shorts.

After Em got her nails done we walked down Broadway, there was a store I wanted to go to. We stopped for lunch at another chocolate place we found. The food was great, Em got a burger and I got a vege-burger which was pretty good. Then we shared dessert, it was a monster sundae, so big we couldn’t eat it all.

We then continued our trek down Broadway to our destination, Maria Tash where I got another piercing. I took a picture but it didn’t turn out, I will have to take another one, except I don’t know if I want my not quite flat abs displayed. That should tell you what I got pierced. Em had to get another pair of shoes, her feet are now horribly blistered.

Thursday I got my nails done, but I will have to post about that later. I took notes though, I will just have to type up what I wrote in my journal.
