>Manhattan again

>Taking up space at the library while Em gets her nails done. The last time we were here, well no not the last time, the last time it rained like a bitch and we didn’t do anything. The time before that we talked about how music moved us. That is really all we do, we just walk and talk, we mix up some shopping and eating among that, but mainly, we talk and we walk. Reliving our teenage years, this time doing it right and having fun. It may sound boring, but I can’t think of a better way to spend a day then with your best friend in a place you both love to be.

Today we are going to get our piercings checked. Mine because its been a month, hers because it hasn’t been healing properly. I think about telling her, welcome to the club, I have two that refuse to heal. Both are almost a year old.

Blogger has come up with some new templates and features. I tried them out on my craft blog … problem is, I have customized all my blogs and I reallty don’t want to lose those custimazations (I have no idea if that is really a word). I just went to the craft blog on this computer and it is PINK! not the nice shaded kind of lavenderish color it was at home. I don’t have the old template here (duh) so I will have to wait to get home to change it back.

I have a few more things to do on this computer then it will be time to meet Em and go see Ashley. Speaking of Ashley, I have to go tweet now.

Just another rainy day in NYC

Em had her nail appointment so we went. I overslept so I caught a later train. While she was getting her nails done I went to the crocs store, my old crocs needed replacing, and while they didn’t have the same style this style will do. The colored strip on the shoe is sort of a magenta. I don’t really like it, but it seems to be popular right now. My sketchers are black with magenta accent. It was cold and it was raining, maybe it felt so cold because of the rain, I took 20 pictures of ‘Broken Umbrellas’. Hopefully they will be up on ‘Better off soaked‘. At least some of them, I don’t expect all 20 of them to be up. I took them with my phone, since I am getting a new one next month. Cell phones don’t like the rain and eventually it quit on me. By then Em had met me for lunch at Connolly’s Pub and Restaurant on 45th and 6th. They had TV’s on in the pub, 4 on a basketball game, or different games, and one on a hockey game. WTF? I want to see baseball!

We had planned to go to Maria Tash since my ear is hurting, but decided it was too wet and left the pub, made a brief stop at Sephora and caught the early train home. So much for exploring, my jeans were soaked up to my thighs, my heavy outer jacket was soaked, my thin denim jacket was wet in spots, and my top had some wet spots on it. As soon as I got home, all the wet things came off and got hung up to dry.

When my Dad sent my this laptop he installed Skype on it. I decided to try it out this evening and call him. As we were talking a thing popped up that I could click to take a picture, so I did. No this is not my Dad, this is my Mom, HI MOM! The elbow next to her head is my dad’s elbow. What you don’t see is a little picture of me, in the video screen in the corner there is a little picture of me, so I can see what they are seeing. Gwen came in while we were talking and said hi, for a little bit. Then we hung up. Technology can be great sometimes. When it gets waterlogged, not so good. But my phone did dry out, and my ear is not hurting so bad, I think it was just a little irritated. Nothing to really worry about.

>I am typing another blog post. I also upgraded my setting and want to see how they work.

First of all, I thought I had told you about my last piercing. It was on our last trip to the city. The one we made when we had no power at home. I was going to title it, ‘Getting the HELL out of Dodge’. By the number of people at the train station it appeared we were not the only ones with that thought. The snow was very pretty, but heavy, the trees branches were bending under the weight. While Em was getting her nails done I went to the library, the big one this time and used their computer to go on-line. I even typed a blog post. I wanted to stay there all day, it was warm and the rooms are filled with books. I also learned something. People don’t go to this library to get books. They go to do research, to go online, take tours and take pictures. Isn’t that interesting?

When Em was done with her nails I had to leave. I had planned and saved for my cartilage piercing. So we trekked down to Maria Tash to get it done. Ashley and I had been tweeting each other so she was expecting me. This is the not spot I wanted to have pierced, but I decided to go with her suggestion, she is the professional, I was actually thinking about getting my Tash Rook pierced, but I decided to go with the cartilage. Blue diamond for the Yankees.

Well, now that I have talked about the concert and Manhattan, I will take a break.

>Post 1,031

>One day I looked at my dashboard and was amazed, I was over 1,000 post for just this blog. I wish I had noticed it when I made 1,000, I would have had a party. Not a contest. My last contest died a quiet death and I don’t believe anyone misses it.

What I really came on here to blog about was another e-mail I received. “Chase Utley News is now following you on Twitter!” Hey wait a minute, isn’t Chase Utley a Phillies player? Didn’t he score like 4 runs off of CC in game one of the 2009 World Series? So why does he want to follow me? When I go to check out his profile I see that he is also following “yankeesgame” Maybe he’s trying to keep track of the competition.

>Have you ever …

>Gotten an e-mail like this?

As a kind note We have featured your blog at _____. We would be grateful if you could add the following details to your blogroll.

Looking forward for your confirmation.

If so what do you do?

My first impulse is to delete them, obviously I didn’t. In fact I even put a button from one site on my book blog. BizyMom’s or something, which kind of bothers me since I’m not a mom, but then, they didn’t ask me if I was.

Back to this question, my second impulse was to click on the link, which the little voice in my head said, “Don’t! Viruses!” I clicked on it, my computer hasn’t exploded yet. Maybe it will later, maybe its on of those dormant viruses. My blog is their featured blog, but I don’t know why, it also has the lowest rating of all the blogs listed there.

This is like when you get those address labels in the mail, and then the sender asks you to send them money. At the risk of revealing to the whole world, or at least 35 followers, that I am a bitch horrible person, I never send money. Legally I don’t have to, and personally I don’t the feeling like I am being coerced. Maybe its my history with abusive relationships, but it just sets my teeth on edge to get that feeling. I also don’t use address labels, if I mail something, I have an address stamp. Besides, I don’t send letters, I don’t even mail my bills, I do it all online.

Bottom line is as soon as I post this I am deleting this e-mail and I am not putting the link up on my blog roll. Just stubborn is me.

>Short post

>I had a great post in mind, it is gone, I am so tired just a few updates.

The Governor might not make it to the end of his term. We are taking bets on him leaving office in a box or handcuffs.

I updated the picture in my sidebar to show off my new piercing.

I got my replacement shoes and they are the same color as the shoes I returned.

My new computer came, the boy tested it out, installed iTunes and set up the wifi. And all he asks in return is some Skittles …. and an iTunes card …. and a new bluetooth. Well I guess since I didn’t have to pay for the computer

I can’t think what else. Good-night.

>How did this all get started?

>Iota Manhattan of Not wrong, just different recently posted about when she first started blogging, she was reminiscing about bloggers she knew from long ago.

It got me started thinking about my blog, how long its been around and why I started it, and why I keep going.

I created this blog (with a different name) on November 27, 2006 and my first post was titled; “First Post” (you can go back and check for yourself, but I would prefer if you didn’t). I was a member of Weight Watchers back then and wanted to keep track of my progress and my thoughts, on the WW website, you can track your weight and interact with others, but I wanted to just talk about what I was experiencing and thought a blog would work. Also, I have kept a diary since I was about 10, rather sporadically, but I kept going back, that was another reason for starting a blog.

Putting my thoughts on the internet seemed safe, after all, who would want to read what I wrote? Then on December 21, 2006, someone commented. I had been going happily along writing whatever the fuck I wanted, now I was scared, people were reading! Then after that comment, nothing and I mean absolutely nothing, until the fall of 2008. Even then, I have never had a ton of comments. The most was when I joined a meme, Postcard Friday Friendship (which I can’t keep steadily at due to my ADD), and sometimes I get a wee bit jealous of some bloggers who get a ton of comments on their blog. But that’s how it goes, I have regular readers and some who comment of Facebook. I feel like I have a little circle of friends, kind of like my life, a small circle of people who know me and love me anyway.

Over the years this blog has changed, as have I. The name has changed and the content, I’ve joined Twitter and Facebook and linked my blogs to them. I learned simple html commands so I can manipulate a few things. And blogger has added things to make blogging better. I created other blogs, one for book reviews, one for crafts and one devoted to the New York Yankees. Some people wonder how I manage 4 blogs, well it’s like this, I try to post in this blog everyday, the others are more event specific and when something happens (I read a book, I make something, I go to a game) then I blog in them. One new thing is pages, I am considering adding a page to this blog and linking to the posts where my poetry is. I might even write more poetry who knows, inspiration comes and goes.

>Still no internet

>and I have no clue why since the rest of the house can get online.

Tigger played around with it but couldn’t get it to work either. It’s not even facebook that I care about, it’s not being able to blog, sending blog posts by e-mail from my phone just isn’t the same. Even if I could get online at the library that would not be the same since I can’t post any pictures. I am leaving angry-town and heading for depressedville.

>I have my reasons

>for changing the title of my blog. Yes I do, really. A while back, some of you may remember, I ran a poll, to see what name my reader’s would prefer. The results were it should stay the same. But I still wanted to change it. Bella Foxx’s Life seemed blah and unimagitive.

A commenter on my post about commuting suggested the current title. The content will stay the same, only the title has changed. It will still be about my life since I am the commuter in question. So for those of you who may have thought (dreaded) the posts were going to be filled with schedules and train facts and MetroNorth trivia can rest easy. It is not a commuting journal, it is a commuter’s journal, which is me, so it is still my life.
