>Falling behind

>Yes, I am somewhat of a pessimist so I was wondering how long it would take for me to fall behind in my writing and here it is the 10th of January and I only have 8 posts for the year. I need to do better. I think part of the problem is I start thinking about all I have to do, I have to write in this blog, I have to write a review of ‘The Flight of the Sorceress’, I have to write a review of ‘Woo Lae Oak’. When I start thinking of all those things, I get a headache and have to go lie down. Excuse me for a moment.

Saturday Gwen and I went to see Yogi Bear. I didn’t really want to, but I promised her I would. It was entertaining. My mindset was that it wasn’t going to be a great movie. So I wasn’t expecting more then it was. Gwen actually helped me with that, she asked me, “Is this like Looney Tunes? A movie that’s just funny, no real plot?” And when I said yes she nodded her head, “That’s o.k., I like Looney Tunes.” I do too, except I don’t have to pay for Looney Tunes!

Sunday I went to the city to meet Em. I had made an appointment at Halo, the salt air place.

Halo Air Salt Rooms
An Alternative Treatment for Respiratory and Skin Discomforts.

There is more information on their website, click on the name Halo and you will go there. It’s a safe link, I put it there myself. I always check links before I publish my posts.

Then we went to the Korean Restaurant, Woo Lae Oak, which I had a coupon for. Very good, but very expensive. I haven’t written my review yet, it will be up hopefully within the week. Then we came home. I went to the store and Em mopped the floor which meant I had to take my boots off when I came inside and then I forgot them so this morning I had to run upstairs to leave. I still made the train but forgot my food, so I was in a pretty bad way today. Back to last night.

Fred was downloading Beatles songs. He wanted to get the whole box set, but can’t afford it right now. So he was downloading the songs, then playing them and dancing to them. In all it made for a fun end to a day that started out pretty crappy.

>I have no idea

>Why do I procrastinate? It is never a good idea. I procrastinate at work and instead of one pile of work to do, now I have three. Three very large piles of paperwork that has to get done.

Writing here is also one of those things. I even had an idea of what I wanted to write, I had a couple of ideas. When I came downstairs, I turned on my computer and put Sims3 in. (Sims3 is the devil you know) Then I turned it off after my girl got pregnant, but I didn’t save it cause I really didn’t want her to have a baby. But I still didn’t come here, I started reading posts on other forums I am a member of, when I finally came to this blog, instead of signing in and typing my blog I scroll down to my blog roll and started reading the recent posts.

Of course by the time I got here, I had completely forgotten what I was going to say. Something about Twitter and Facebook and Sept. 11, 2001.

So you can blame my crappy writing on my procrastination, don’t blame it on the fact that I have been up since 4:45 after only getting 3 hours sleep. I need a nap. Unfortunately, that’s all I will get before I have to go back to work.

At the laundromat

If you follow me on twitter, you might think I live there. You have probably read that tweet many times. I don’t check in on Foursquare there, mainly because I haven’t been able to find it. I also joked the last time I was there that the lady told me rent was due next week.

Here’s the story, we have a washer. It is practically brand new, one of the high efficiency washers. Front load with a compartment for your soap and buttons and all kinds of fancy stuff. We love it. My mother called me the other day and she has one too, but she doesn’t like hers. However, we don’t have a dryer. D and Em just decided we didn’t need one, I agreed with them. During the summer and fall it was fine not having a dryer, now that it’s winter, and I’m wearing socks, it seems I am at the laundromat every day drying clothes. I’m not really and I am sure not having the dryer saves money, we still hang up most of our clothes to dry, but I really don’t like trudging to the laundromat when it’s cold and the ground is muddy.

When I move, I’ll probably have to wash and dry my clothes at a laundromat, so I should probably just shut up about this.

On another note, I have decided to start doing my ‘feature’, “Check Out This Blog”. There is one below you can take a quick peek at. All links that I put on my blog are checked out by me and safe.

>A New Start

>This is not a new blog I know, I have writing here for 4 years and I have made 1,160 entries. But if you look at my archives, which you don’t have to ’cause I’m going to tell you. Last year (2009) I had over 400 entries, this year I had less then 200. I don’t know why exactly. Maybe I have been spreading myself too thin with Facebook and Twitter etc.

It has got to stop, I like writing and the more I write the more I have to say. I always thought that if I wrote down everything I thought about, eventually I would run out of things to say. The exact opposite happens, as I write, more thoughts come to me. So I have come to the decision to get back to writing here. My goal is to try at least a post a day. I am trying to start today, because if I start tomorrow, that would make it a New Year’s Resolution and I don’t do those.

>Wednesday off

>Yes this is my regular every other Wednesday off. And I really accomplished nothing. So I figured I should write a blog post and here I am.

I did pick the four winners for my blog contest. They have been contacted and will be receiving their gifts soon.

There is a site called blogger.com where you can register your blog. You can see the button in my right sidebar. To verify your blog, they ask you to put this button on your blog with the link. Well my blogs are still saying need verification. I am trying to exercise patience with this.

The reason I registered was because of the disappointing number of responses to my blog contest. Not just this one. I had one earlier and had one person enter. So I sit here trying to get inspiration to write, and it doesn’t come. Why should I write when I don’t have anyone reading?

So I tell myself, you didn’t start this blog to get readers, you started it to put your thoughts down, like you’ve been doing since you were 10 and bought your first diary. This way you are not using up tons of notepaper on stuff that just gets filed away. Along the way people have come and become interested. Then I got greedy, I wanted more people to listen to my.

Anyway, on another blog someone wrote that the way to get more followers was to register with some sites and then participate. I think that is where I have the most problems. Yes I joined bookblogs.com and get joined discussion groups and get e-mails, which I delete. I think I know the problem now.

Anyway, the blog I read it on is Nurse’s Notes, go check it out and read for yourself. I wrote a guest post for her, she hasn’t posted it, I guess she’s afraid her blog will end up as popular as mine!

>Two days late

>Oh I am two days late with the prize giving. But I have an excuse. I am a girl and I was having ‘girl problems’. Enough said, if you’re a girl, you know. So I will be sending out e-mails for the winners, and I changed my mind and I am going to keep letting the world know the state of affairs (or lack there-of) in my life.

>If you want to win one of the 4 $25 gift cards (generic, can be used anywhere) send an e-mail to: bellabfoxx @ aol . com (you know how e-mail address are, remove the spaces) telling me how you found my blog and what you like about it.

The gift card will either be a physical gift card or an e-gift card. Your choice.

This is important, I need an address to send you anything. Your address will not be published, I won’t even keep it after the giveaway is over.

Happy e-mailing!

After this giveaway is over, this blog will be shut down.

>Making things easy

>Someone tweeted me saying they wanted to enter my giveaway but couldn’t comment on my blog. What can I say, I put restrictions on comments because I got spammed. So I’m changing the rules.

>Blogoversary

>My Blogoversary is coming up. I have been doing this for four years now. I can’t believe I am still coming up with fascinating stuff to write. (QuiET! My blog my delusions.)

This year instead of just cake I am giving away 4 gift cards. Each will be for $25. (Hey I’m a poor civil servant, who might be unemployed come January) There are two rules and only one way to enter. 1) Comments must be left on this blog (not Facebook, not Twitter, this blog post) 2) You must leave your e-mail so I can contact you. (If you don’t want your e-mail posted on my blog, let me know in your comment and I will not post your comment).

The way to enter is to post a comment about this blog (you know feed my ego) either something you like about it, how you found it etc.

I will pick 4 winners and notify them by e-mail.

>Yesterday & Today

>Yesterday Em had planned to go to the Today show to see Chris Daughtrey. Since I was going with her, I scheduled my nail appointment for today instead of Friday. Actually, the reason was they were thinking about going to the game last night. Which they didn’t. Anyway, we didn’t go to the Today show either. Em, Jellybean and I did go to the city, we went on the Shark, a speedboat tour of the sites around NY Harbor. It was a blast.

We did some other walking around but Jellybean was acting bored so we came home early.

Long and short of it is, I could have gotten my nails done last night anyway and not come down here. So now I have to spend time in Manhattan all on my own. What a hardship. **innocent face**

So I am doing what I always do when I need to kill time, going online at the library. Today I am at the Mid-Manhattan Library instead of the big one with the lions. There is a crazy man here, he was yelling at me a while ago. Some lady came by and told him to be quiet or he couldn’t keep using the computers.

If I get to the Apple store, I will probably check in here again.
