>Long day, very long day.

>Started at 5:00 a.m. when I got up to get ready to go to the zoo for the walk to save the gorillas. It was 5 kilometers which is 3.107 miles. It took me about an hour to walk it. I thought that was pathetic, but Em said it was a healthy pace.

Last night when I took my bath and washed my hair, I braided it in two braids. I left them in while I was walking, then took them out when I changed clothes. So my hair had that wavy, curly look that most people like to see my hair in. Took us a while to find the subway but we did and headed for Tribeca. We were on a local, I counted the stops, when I got to 16 stops I stopped counting. We go off at 79th Street so we could go to Cafe Frida for lunch. We went across the street where they were having a street fair but didn’t see anything we wanted. Em had a headache so she hailed a cab and we went to Tribeca for the film festival, but we couldn’t find anything going on. We did find a Marie Belle on Broome Street, New York, NY and had the most luscious iced chocolate drink(it was spicy) and dessert.

I bought a bracelet for Gwen that is made up of charms with pictures of NYC in them. She liked it.

There was more that we did, but right now I am so tired, and I took a Tylenol® PM, so I really want to go to bed. See you later.

I wanted to let you know I am not ignoring your request for a picture of my hair, there are three reasons I haven’t posted one.

(1) I didn’t get a new hairstyle, I just got the gray roots dyed red and the rest of my hair color refreshed (red is the worst for fading according to the stylist), so my hair looks pretty much the same as in my profile pic.

(2) My face is still broken out from the rosacea and I will be dipped in hot oil before I post a pic of me with red bumps on my face.

(3) I have no one to take the picture so I have to set up the camera with the timer and for the above two reasons I haven’t felt like doing it.

I will be posting a pic for the spring, I like to change my pic with the seasons, but it is still cold here!

>Em home today

>Actually, tomorrow morning, 12:30 a.m. or so. She and D just landed at Newark. So one less thing to worry about, the plane didn’t crash.

Today did not start out to good, I was running late again, I keep getting later and later, I have to stop this soon. Next month starts the compressed work week and I will have to get to work a half hour earlier!

This evening I went for my allergy shot and then to get my hair done. So now my hair is all one color and will look nice this week and next week I will get it trimmed and it will look nice for Phantom. I am so excited about Phantom!

Gwen sent me a text when I was leaving the salon to get Popsicles for Tigger cause he is sick. So tomorrow might be just me and Fred. Although Gwen said he is planning to be better tomorrow. He has a fever so probably not.

Now I am going to get ready for bed. I plan on being asleep by 11 tonight.

>Yes we did it again.

>Em and I went to Manhattan again. Gwen and Tigger went with us. Originally Em was going to get a facial at Lancôme but Leonardo is no longer there so she decided not to get a facial there. I had an appointment to get my nails done so Gwen and I went there, she got a manicure also. Em and Tigger went shopping, she wanted to get D some shirts for Puerto Rico, they are leaving Tuesday.

After Gwen and I were done we headed up Madison toward to Central Park. I forgot my sunglasses so we walked over to 5th Avenue to find a street vendor. Gwen loves street vendors, I thought we were going to have to stop at everyone we saw. We got sunglasses and watches, she got a big digital diver’s watch, I got a little black bracelet watch. Emphasis on little, it fits my wrist.

We had lunch then continued on to Central Park. Em told me they were on the West Side of the park so we went over to 6th Ave. I was getting ready to head for 7th Avenue when she asked me where we were, she said they were going to be coming out at the 5th Avenue exit. They were on the East Side of the park.

When we got to the park, we saw the carriages, Gwen was excited, she also loves horses and wanted to go on a ride, I didn’t tell her that Em and I had already discussed this and were planning on it. So after several text messages back and forth and having to find a bathroom for Tigger (Em and he did), we were waiting by the vendors and I was getting annoyed at the guy who wanted to sketch me, “Only 7 minutes!” Em calls, “Where are you?”, “Waiting by the carriages across from the big statue in front of some street vendors.” “Where are you exactly?” “Near the scary gold lady.” She starts laughing, I thought because of what I said, actually it was because she was on the other side of the scary gold lady. Tigger took a picture of her. I will have to have him send it to me.

The ride was nice, the driver was chatty and funny. Then we went to the zoo, but didn’t go in, decided the price wasn’t worth it. So we went in the gift shop and spent a bunch of money there. I got Em a stained glass box with 3 votive holders in it, she got a snow leopard for Stitch and I got a Tamarin for Tigger. A stuffed one, not a real one.

We had dinner at our regular spot, then rushed to get home cause Gwen was tired and grumpy. After she had a nap on the train, she was in a much better mood. Tigger fell asleep too, right on my arm. We stopped at Ron’s, it is open now, unfortunately Ron is still not able to walk. Maybe by summer. When we got home, Em realized that they hadn’t got anything for Fred, so she gave him the squirrel she bought while she and Tigger were in the park. They had named him Beauregard.

I took pictures, but I am too tired now to put them in a side show.

>N. Y. C.

>They sang that song in Annie. Then the day after, yesterday, Em, Fred and I went to Manhattan. Got a late start since we both had some things to do before. She had to get the oil changed in her car and I had to take Gwen to the library and get gas for my car and get coffee. Gwen got a snack when I was getting coffee. Coffee is important right? I took my green bag so I could take my book The All-True Travels and Adventures of Lidie Newton by Jane Smiley. I read it on the train down to the city and back home. Since it was a little warmer then past trips, I was looking for a lighter jacket to wear and found my black quilted one with the pretty silver pin.

Em is trying to plan one thing to do each time we go down. She wanted to take Fred to the FDNY museum, I wanted to get my nails done. One of them came off, I didn’t have any glue so I tried sticking it back on with clear nail polish, that didn’t work, and I didn’t get around to getting gel on it until before the nail split and I had 9 long and one short. HATE THAT!

We walked to SoHo(that’s where the museum was). Em figured we could find a salon there and they would go to the museum and I would go get my nails done. Well, that didn’t work out. So after we went through the museum (which was kind of lame compared to the NYPD museum) we started back toward GCT, keeping our eyes open for a nail salon. On the way we stopped at Banana Republic, Em was looking at dresses, I pulled out this orange dress (according to the website it’s Leon Coral) as I did that Em walked from the back of the store and said, “You would look so freakin’ hot in that!” I didn’t try it on, there was a line for the dressing room and we didn’t want to leave Fred alone in the store and she was the one looking for a dress, I just happened to find one. Anyway, I wasn’t going to spend that much for a dress without trying it on so I didn’t get it.

We found a nail place on Madison, Em and Fred kept walking and I went in, the plan was to meet them at Annie Moore’s. We ended up meeting at GCT and I got a pasta dish from one of the little take away places downstairs and eating it on the train. I didn’t get the nails polished, decided to do that at home, then when I got home I couldn’t decide what color!

So I lined up my bottles of polish to try to decide.Should I go dark, it’s not spring yet, but it is going to be spring next week, so what color, the lavender or blue or maybe that grass green polish? Or should I be traditional, rose or red or mauve, this is so difficult!

I eventually decided on the lavender, but it took me until just now!

>Sorry Sorry

>I went to my iGoogle home page and saw those headlines. I don’t know why I posted them here, they make me sad. I am sorry if I upset anyone.

On a lighter note, I have decided I am never using soap on my face again. I didn’t wash my face last night, yes I know, disgusting! Really, I used my cold cream ’cause the soap I bought, that is supposed to be designed for faces and make-up, wasn’t taking the make-up off. Today, I really liked the way my face looked, so from now on, no more soap on my face.

And I used part of my tax return to buy a Sony Reader. I ordered it from one store, then I noticed that if I ordered it from the Sony website I wouldn’t have to pay shipping. I called the store and canceled my order. Then I went on the Sony website where I found out it comes in 3 colors, so I ordered it in Sangria Red, and then I noticed, free engraving, so I had it engraved with Bella is reading . . . which is the name of my book blog. I can’t wait for it to come.

>Nice day today

>I woke up with a headache, and a voice mail message from someone I was supposed to meet at a friends house 30 minutes earlier, I will have to apologize tomorrow. I also had a stomach ache. Both were related to the fact that I am a girl. Enough said about that.

Last night I went up to JoAnn’s to get fabric. Saw Alex and Doreen there, so I didn’t get to the rest of the places I wanted to go. I did get fabric for my new bag, that I am now going to make myself since Em is working on clothes for Puerto Rico. When I showed her the fabric today, she thought it was very nice and pretty and would make a good bag. She also thanked me for the rings I gave her, she said, “I like these cheap rings.” Then I showed her the choker I got, silver heart with black cords tied to it. Gwen looked at me and said, “You do realize you’re not a teenager anymore?” to Gwen!

We went to the library, I wanted to get out of the house, but I still wanted to go online. So I did stuff online and Gwen looked for DVD’s. She got three, after finding out there was NO LIMIT to the number she could get. This was after she told me there was a limit of 3 books and I told her, that’s funny cause right now I have 6 books out. Then we were going to come home but Em wasn’t home, so we got lunch.

It was a very nice day so we got hamburgers from this restaurant with a chalkboard menu and grass-fed beef from cattle that were treated nice (or something weird like that, Gwen read it on the menu) then went to the park to read. Had a bit of shock when we discovered that some of the picnic tables have been removed. There used to be some at the top of the hill and the back of park near the Junior High School, they were gone, there were only picnic tables in the covered area near the playground. What I thought was weird was the grills were still there, so you could come cook your hamburgers, but couldn’t sit and eat them.

Then Gwen wanted chips to eat while we watched the movies. So we went up to Hannaford’s, I also took the opportunity to go to Sally’s to get nail stuff, which included some blue nail polish (did I mention a nail came off yesterday? I have to repaint my nails now since I wasn’t able to glue it back on. I tried using clear nail polish, didn’t work.) and to take Gwen to the bank.

It was a bad idea, I forgot about the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Am I the only one who finds it odd to have a St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 7th? Gwen was wondering why since St. Patrick’s Day is an Irish holiday we celebrate it here. Sometimes I wonder what she did in school, cause I don’t think she was listening to her teachers.

We finally made it home, after a 40 minute drive that normally takes 20. Em was sleeping, she went to a S** L** party at Pam’s and Tim was pouring, enough said about that too! So we watched one of the DVD’s, and which one did we watch? Stitch insisted on Anne of Green Gables.

It was such a nice day, it was hard to believe we got this on Monday.

>Tigger found my earrings

>What day was it? I think it was yesterday. Yes it was I just found the text message from Tigger: i found earings in the wash that are urs, and i put them in ur room (exactly as he typed it). Yay! I am so happy, so now I have two pairs of purple dangly earrings. You (well I at least) can never have too many purple things.

I also found out that Butterscotch is a water snob. He sneaks into the upstairs to drink Abigail’s water. I could never figure out why, then I see Gwen putting water in her dish, from the water cooler. He likes the bottle water! I just put tap in his dish.

Em asked me if I would go to the Tempest with Gwen, she needs to go to another play for one of her classes, so on the way home I stopped at the bookstore and got a copy so I could read it before we went. when I got home I showed the book to Em, she then told me that Gwen refuses to go see the Tempest. So I asked her, “So what am I going to do with this?” She says, “Read it?” When Stitch got home I was upstairs and I told him about Gwen not going to see the Tempest and he said, of course she won’t, then I told him I bought a copy of the Tempest, what am I going to do with it? He smiles, “Read it.”

It is a nice copy, it has a glossary so I will actually will be able to understand the language.

>New York NY

>Yes, Em and I went to the city again. Daryl came through for me and recommended a place to get a manicure and pedicure and it was fabulous! One problem, I got a leg massage and now my calves feel like someone was kicking me.

So my nails are blue, they match the sweater I was wearing. I got earrings to replace the earrings I lost. I will probably find them now. And Em found the perfect red sandals. I wanted to get another pair of shoes that I saw there, but Em said I wasn’t allowed to get the same red as she had. Piffle! Didn’t need shoes anyway. I was going to tell you more but I am too tired.

>Bedtime

>Just a quick HI! before I head off to bed. I got offered a book for review today and I accepted it. Told the person, I can’t promise I will like it, I will only promise to be nice if I don’t like it. He accepted that. So now I have two books to read for review. And four library books to finish. Then after that I have to get back to my challenge books.

In the month of February I only read two books. Mainly cause one was dud. The other one wasn’t as bad as the first, but it also didn’t grab me.

Tomorrow Em and I are going to Manhattan, this time I am taking a book. I think it will be ‘Love in the Time of Cholera’. It is one of my challenge books and I have the train ride to read, maybe while we are getting our nails done too. I will stick it in the pink crocheted bag I have. Em is taking her new camera and so I don’t have to take mine.
