>NOT YOUR SISSY FRIENDSHIP PROMISE

>This is not your typical “Sissified” Friendship promise. I thought it was kinda funny, and sounds like some of my friends. So here it is and enjoy.

Are you tired of those sissy ‘friendship’ poems that always sound good, but never actually come close to reality?

Well, here is a series of promises that actually speak of True Friendship. You WON’T see cutesy little smiley faces just the stone cold truth of our great friendship.

1. When you are sad, I will jump on the person who made you sad like a spidermonkey jacked up on Mountain Dew!!!

2. When you are blue, I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.

3. When you smile, I will know you are plotting something that I must be involved in.

4. When you’re scared, we will high tail it out of here.

5. When you are worried, I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whining, ya big baby!!!!

6. When you are confused, I will use little words.

7. When you are sick, Stay away from me until you are well again. I don’t want whatever you have.

8. When you fall, I’ll pick you up and dust you off–After I laugh my butt off!!

9. This is my oath…Ipledge it to the end. ‘Why?’ you may ask;–because you are my FRIEND!***********************

Friendship is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it, but only YOU can feel the true warmth.

Kinda brings a tear to your eye doesn’t it?

>Men are stupid

>I realize that is a very general statement and that I might have some male readers that take offense at it. However, I am actually talking about one man in particular, and I am not the one who made the statement.

Today I didn’t really have anything planned, so I just got up and got breakfast and loafed around the living room. Em went someplace with D but when she got home she asked me to take her grocery shopping. This is where stupid starts. The reason she needed me to take her to do her errands was today D was getting the piano and instead of renting a truck to transport it, he decided it would fit in Em’s mini van.

So he had the kids take the seats out and he and Nick went up to get it. After Em and I had finished getting groceries she gets a call from D asking her to get plastic, which she couldn’t do because we had stuff in the car that needed to be refrigerated. She was annoyed since she didn’t know why he needed the plastic and started thinking that maybe nobody showed up to help and now he needed to cover the seats with the plastic. She called back and asked him how much plastic did he need what was he using it for? Turns out he broke the back window of the van and needed to cover it. When we got home, the entire back window was gone. So to save $20 on a truck rental, it cost Em over $30 for the plastic and duct tape and the inconvenience of her now having to get it replaced. Also, as she said it cut into my time to get my hair done.

I later found out from Tigger how it happened. Just let me say that things on wheels roll, and when a piano hits a window . . . Tigger went with me to get my hair done, he needed a hair cut and a new wallet. Then after we had dinner the kids wanted to play Pictionary and D said he would play then he sat down at the computer, I went downstairs after about 30 minutes. Thinking, why did he say he would play when he knew he had other stuff to do. Why didn’t he just wait to say he would play until he was ready.

>We went to Manhattan yesterday

>And Em has written about it in her new blog, that I helped her set up, but am not allowed to read. That’s O.K. she doesn’t read my blog, fair is fair. Anyway, the name of her blog is Marcie’s Manhattan. So check it out, she is new to blogging, but not to writing.

I had an appointment to get my nails done, no picture, but I didn’t get them polished just new gel put on the old stuff was starting to come off. My fingertips are a little sore now, they always are after that much stuff is done to them. Em and Fred (Tigger was supposed to come but he was sick) went to lunch and I was going to join them after.

When done with my manicure I went to Starbucks for tea and I learned that I shouldn’t carry a paper cup of hot tea while checking my e-mail (ouchie!) Then I texted Em and she said to meet her at Madison Square Park(MSP). In case you don’t know, MSP is next to the Flat Iron Building and in MSP is the ‘Shake Shack‘ where Em was in line to get Fred a malted and agreed to get me a hamburger. Em had taken my camera because the Ethiopian restaurant they were going to was recommended to them by one of Fred’s teachers so she wanted to take a picture of him there and that morning she couldn’t find her camera.

Fred was off taking pictures. When I downloaded the pictures to my computer, they were mostly of squirrels. You can see that on the slideshow, if you have time to sit through it. I abbreviated the name for MSP on the pictures and started laughing, what I used could also stand for Mad Squirrel Park. With their eyes shining, they look kind of mad.

We next headed for Alphabet City so Em could get a baby gift for one of the teacher’s wife. After we headed toward Marie Belle for Lava Cake, stopping along the way at an Art Store, then Starbucks so I could use the bathroom but the line was not moving. We left and went to Marie Belle, where the bathroom had been vandalized and we couldn’t use it. We still had the Lava Cake, it is so good, Em says one person can’t eat a whole one. I think I could. Really, I do. We found a Subway where they let us use the employee bathroom, barely enough room to turn around. Em wanted a cab, she had a blister on her feet. I never complain if she wants to get a cab. Besides her blister it was getting kind of late, something I don’t realize when it stays light so long. Dinner at Annie Moore’s and then home.

Next week, Em wants to get the gel manicure, like I get. I’ll let you know what happens.

>Em home today

>Actually, tomorrow morning, 12:30 a.m. or so. She and D just landed at Newark. So one less thing to worry about, the plane didn’t crash.

Today did not start out to good, I was running late again, I keep getting later and later, I have to stop this soon. Next month starts the compressed work week and I will have to get to work a half hour earlier!

This evening I went for my allergy shot and then to get my hair done. So now my hair is all one color and will look nice this week and next week I will get it trimmed and it will look nice for Phantom. I am so excited about Phantom!

Gwen sent me a text when I was leaving the salon to get Popsicles for Tigger cause he is sick. So tomorrow might be just me and Fred. Although Gwen said he is planning to be better tomorrow. He has a fever so probably not.

Now I am going to get ready for bed. I plan on being asleep by 11 tonight.

>Forgot something

>I forgot something that happened at the spa that shows why I get nervous about new experiences. As we (Em and I) were walking to where they do the massages, and I was following her cause I had never been there and the woman who’s doing her massage takes her back and this guy asks are you R___. I was distracted by the fact that Em was disappearing down the hallway and getting a little panicked that she was leaving me and who is R___? I kind of gave him a blank look and he said, “You’re not R___?” It was then I remembered I had made the appointment in my middle name. So I said yes and he said he was Ron, and I totally missed that this was Ron, who Daryl recommends.

When I told Em, she laughed and called me stupid, guess I deserved that!

>One more thing

>Before I go to bed, I just saw this on You-Tube and wanted to share.

>Taking a break

>From my game and everything else. Em is happy, she found out the date for the first new episode of Law & Order:CI.

I left work early, my back is still hurting me. I need to do my exercises but I can’t work up the energy too. As soon as I finish here I am going to take a bath and do other grooming stuff, then I will be back to check my e-mail and see if anyone else has been reading. Oh and I have to read all the blogs I follow, haven’t done that in a while.

Well, talk to everyone later.

>Bedtime for me

>I have much of today doing nothing. But then, that is all I had planned for today. Stayed in bed late, then a few errands then playing on my computer. I did get a card and gift card for my niece who is having a baby soon. I don’t know when exactly. I got a card for Em to make her laugh. It worked. I also got an envelope and got it addressed for my taxes.

So now I just have to address the card for my niece and write something in it. And I have to take them to the post office tomorrow. That won’t be hard.

Tigger’s back is still bothering him. I bought him some candy and some drumsticks. I got myself some M&M ice cream cones since the grocery store didn’t have any of the nut free drumsticks. Now I have to go.

>Light day on the train

>this morning, funny though, there was a long line at Starbucks. A lot of schools were off today for President’s weekend.

Last night Em and I were talking about Vincent movies to watch while D is in Toronto. I said there is one but I didn’t want to say the name, wasn’t sure how she would react, but when she looked at me and said ‘Go ahead.’ I was pretty sure she was thinking the same, so I said, ‘Full Metal Jacket‘ and of course that was the same one she wanted to see. He has done a lot of movies, it is going to be hard to pick just a few. But that is one we both want to see.

Tonight I went up to Macy’s to get some make-up. Lancôme was having a give-away, I got some eye cream and it was enough for two gifts.

I was trying to find something that would show how many comments and names of commentors for my blog but couldn’t and I really should be getting to bed. I have a busy day planned for tomorrow.

>I don’t know how this happened

>But I have more visitors and more followers. When I go to their blogs, I always think they are so much better and more interesting then mine!

I also have another page in my guestbook, happy days! I get so excited over this little expressions of kindness.

Tomorrow I am going to Albany for three days, I was supposed to pack tonight, but my clothes are not dry. I probably should put them in the dryer, but I hate putting my sweaters in the dryer, I am always afraid they will shrink and look horrible. I guess I will have to put them in for a little bit, if I get most of the wetness out, they will dry by morning and I can throw them in the suitcase.

The other thing of concern is the weather. It was snowing when I got home and as you know, Albany is north of here! I made sure to get a snow brush this time, and they gave me a Ford Escape 4×4, my GPS is working and I got a car power thingy so I can plug in my phone and use Verizon Navigator if I have to.

Now I am going to pack. No sense putting it off.
