>No church today.

>Canceled, probably because of the snow. I don’t know for a fact because I have not been upstairs yet.

Last night when I plugged in my I-pod to add the song Tigger bought, I-tunes said it had an update, so I downloaded it, then the computer said it need to restart so I said O.K., well the computer froze on the restart. I had to unplug the laptop and wait for it to shutdown, I turned it back on so and it was still frozen! So I unplugged it again, it turned off, I waited an hour, still frozen. So I unplugged it and left it over night. As you can see, it is working now but when I woke up this morning I was a little unsure about turning it on, when I did, I got the frozen screen said Oh No, then it went off and the computer finished the start up. I should remember from now on, to shut down the computer, this has happened before.

So now I am just sitting here blogging and listening to the radio, I just combined Tigger’s station with mine. OK, I don’t really like this song, but its not horrible. I clicked ‘I don’t like this song’ once before and I got this cute message, “We’re sorry! We’ll never play it again.”

Anyway, I forgot to check back in with Weight Watchers message boards so I need to do that now.

>I love my cell phone

>Well, not really, not this one. I have a Glyde and the touch screen is temperamental. Some days I wish I had gotten the eNV II, but I am stuck with it. I should have said I love having a cell phone. However, I would not be buried with it, mainly because I don’t plan on being buried.

>Yesterday

>Em, Tigger and I went to Manhattan yesterday, Tigger wanted to go to some camera stores and Em looked up the addresses but she forgot the paper with the address on it so we didn’t do that.

We went to our favorite breakfast place, except that it was more of a brunch cause it was around 11:00 a.m. Then we walked toward Central Park, we stopped at the Library and I bought a card for Cookie and a pill case with a picture of the Brooklyn Bridge on it. Then Em asked if I was uncomfortable in my coat, she noticed I had trouble snapping it at the restaurant. I kept saying it’s fine when I stand up. She asked if I wanted to get a coat to replace it. I replied that if we saw a Daffy’s I would look for a coat there, but then we went by Esprit and she suggested we go in. So I saw a down coat, it was a little more than I wanted to pay and longer then I wanted, then Em pointed out some jackets a little shorter, about the same length as my red one, they were on sale so I got a nice gray one, has a hood, knit cuffs and collar, zips. So I bought it to replace my red down jacket which I gave to Em for the coat drive the high school is having.

Em also got a down vest for Tigger, I forgot where, not at Esprit because everything for men was just too expensive. Then we went to Central Park and walked around, then Tigger convinced Em to cab it to Macy’s. Tigger wanted to look for clothes. He got a nice shirt, then noticed they had jeans on sale so he got a pair of jeans too. He looks great in them. There was a Daffy’s there which I still wanted to go in, and Em wanted to go in Victoria’s Secret, but she didn’t want to take Tigger in with her, so she went to VS and we went to Daffy’s. Except when we walked inside, there was a line for the elevator to go up to Daffy’s, so we went to Staples instead. I told Tigger he was more fun in Staples then in clothing stores. He explained it this way, “When I go in a clothing store, I only want clothing for me, when I go to a store like Staples, I want everything.”

As you might expect, it was an absolute madhouse. Macy’s has their Christmas display in the window and people were just crowding around looking for, it was worse than Time Square, but not worse than Time Square on New Year’s Day.

We went to Annie Moore’s for dinner, then to Grand Central Terminal to walk around a bit. We went to Douglas Cosmetics, I was looking for a sharpener for my lip pencil, they didn’t have any, Tigger convinced Em to buy him some more cologne, it was less there than at Macy’s. Then we went to Posman Books and she got an appointment book. I saw a book about a pickpocket in Manhattan in the 19th century. I almost got it. I might still.

>Made a mistake.

>

I have to correct a prior post, this information is from the NY Times website, section On This Day.

On This Day in History Monday, December 08th

1980 Rock musician John Lennon was shot to death outside his New York City apartment building by Mark David Chapman. The former Beatle was 40.

They’re going to kick me out of the fan club for this.

>Wall of Shave

>

Tigger filmed this, so he is not in it. But he did a good job! And so did all the kids that collected the money. One small error, she said 5 lunch periods, there are only 4, but the kids dug deep and gave all their spare change. I posted about this previously. Click here to read it.

>Lazy day

>I woke with a tummy ache. Not bad, but I didn’t feel like getting up, so I stayed home and I am posting this from my bed. Since I haven’t been up, I don’t have much to say, but I have to get up and do some cleaning, maybe some laundry and run an errand. Tigger ate all my Skittles® and SweeTarts®, so I am thinking maybe I will go up to Target. I have limited funds since I don’t get paid until tomorrow, but since I didn’t go to work today, I can spend the $10 I have left on candy.

As I type this I am listening to the radio, on my computer! I put in a band I listen to, so they played a song by them, then the next song, by a different band, that I also have the album! I thought that was kind of neat. So far I have liked every song they have played. You can rate the songs so it ‘customizes’ the songs played.

Anyway, I should get moving since I have to pick up some books from the library, except I changed my mind about reading them. I should also enter the books I got from Pam and Aggie in Shelfari(they are still in boxes in my closet) before I get the next shipment from her. I probably should do that now.

>Had a busy day

>even though I didn’t go to work. First thing, I took Stitch up to school. Then I got the packages ready to mail, which included sending an e-mail to one of the recipients so she knows it is coming. Then I went to the post office to mail them, right before my Doctor’s appointment, and I would have made it on time, if I hadn’t forgotten my checkbook! Well, I had also forgotten the slip that said I got a flu shot so that gave me an excuse to go back and get it. The doctor gave me a scrip for an antibiotic and some Allegra-d for the congestion. We’ll see how I do with that. I dropped the scrip off at the pharmacy then came home, they said it would be about 1-½ hours so I wasn’t waiting around. Then I picked up Gwen and we went to lunch and the mall just to kill some time, Em asked us to get her something at Penney’s so we did that. Then home, then to get the prescription. Oh boy, I’m tired now and I still have to go to the meeting!

When I got home I saw a printout of the page from the Dutchess County Health Department about the “shave-off”. Tigger’s picture is on it! Click on his name to see it. He is so cute.

I got some new nail polish at the mall. Not at trade secret, at the cheap store, I don’t remember the name but I got OPI for less than $6. All I can see for a color is OPI Ink. It is dark purple with a shimmer to it. I really like it, Gwen picked it out.

Now I need to get ready for the meeting. I have to wash my face and brush my teeth. My armpit is, well not really hurting, kind of irritated feeling, I put witch hazel on it after I removed the hair last night, but it still feels sore.

>First Day

>of the last month of 2008.

I think I am allergic to lamb. We had lamb chops last night, and I didn’t like them. OK that’s fine, but I got a really bad stomach ache from them, not a normal stomach ache a hurting needles in the stomach, stomach pain. Since I am allergic to wool, I guess it isn’t too much of a stretch to be allergic to the meat of the animal too.

Last night I was bored and so I went to Barnes & Noble, fatal mistake. Fatal to my budget that is! I bought three books. Two were on my list so that is ok, the other one, well, it was interesting looking. For the titles, check out my blog: Bella is reading.

Em sent me a text to tell me there was a bomb scare/threat at the H.S. and the MTA puppies were there. Nice puppies! Big teeth. I asked her if they bit anybody and she said no, they just sniffed the lockers while everyone waited outside. Dogs have the best jobs. I bought the oil for her friend and sent her a picture of the bottle. This is what my day consists of!

Cookie sent me an e-mail saying she likes drivel, keeps her mind off sad thoughts. I should have told her, if you want drivel, read my blog!

>I ♥ NY

>Yes, Em and I went to Manhattan again. This was another spur of the moment, unplanned trip. D had been saying no, then he decided to take the children flying. Some place where they can fly gliders or something like that. So he said Em could go to the city.

Gwen went with me to my book study this morning and P announced that it was our book study’s turn to help with cleaning our place of meeting. So as I was driving home I was telling Gwen this meant that her mom and I wouldn’t be going to the city, not that we had planned it anyway, then as we started to pull in the yard, Em was out there doing the Snoopy dance.

First thing we did when we got to GCT was go to Douglas Cosmetics. I mean the first thing after we stood in line at the ladies room. So many people there! I bought some perfume, and the sales person gave me five or six samples of perfume and a coupon for 10% off, don’t know why. Em knocked this big thing off the table and I was giving her a hard time about it, maybe he(I think it was a him) thought I was embarrassed.

Then we went to a couple jewelry stores, then we started walking down 42nd Street toward the library, Em wanted to go to the library and Bryant Park. As we were walking along past GCT there was this homeless man with a sign and he was saying, ‘If you could spare a dollar.’ I said, to myself mainly, but loud enough for Em to hear, ‘No I can’t spare a dollar, I just spent 90 dollars on perfume!’ She started laughing, ‘It is all about you isn’t it!’ Yes indeed, I am tired of doing everything the way other people think I should. I am a competent adult and can make my own decisions!

There were so many people (tourists) there. They were very annoying and I almost put a descriptive word before tourists. Well, its not really a descriptive word, I think it would be considered a verb! Another thing of note that happened was as we were walking down the sidewalk, in front of this hotel a man was just standing there, we had to walk around him and as we walked on I heard a voice, “DAD!” then a pause, then “GET OUT OF THE WAY!” Em says, well as least the son knows what is going on!

We had no plans, we just walked to Central Park, I got another headache, I have realized that the headaches I have been getting when we go to the city are directly related to the problem I am having with my sinuses. We walked back to GCT and then we went to Annie Moore’s. Em got a cheesecake from Junior’s to bring home. We got in about 7:15 p.m. and Fred was all excited about flying today.

I finished the necklace I was crocheting, I am not real happy with it, but I think it will do for the girl I am sending it to. I hope she likes it. After I send it and she gets it, I will post a picture on my craft blog, I am not doing now because I don’t want to ruin the surprise. Now I am sick, I don’t think from the city or Annie Moore’s, I think from the hot sausage I ate.

>Good night.

>I am just making a quick post before I hit the sack. I spent a lot of time online today. Mostly on my book sites updating my libraries. Of course they are virtual libraries. List of books I want to read I have 395 on Shelfari and 385 on LibraryThing. Only 212 are to be read.

I requested a couple of books from the library one is for a Shelfari discussion group and I don’t remember the other.

Other than that, Gwen and I had a good time at the meeting. We got to talk to friends we rarely see and after we went to Panera for lunch. We each got one of the two things, right now I can’t remember what they are called, soup and half sandwich, different soup and different sandwich. We were thinking we could continue our fun at home, but D was home. So we just went to our rooms. I have only been back upstairs to have dinner, I was going to watch L&O:CI but D wanted the news on. So I have been watching TV in the basement and working on my computer.
