Rape10
It would be nice, if it was just this easy, but it’s not, because of the reasons for rape and because like it or not we live in a rape culture, just telling people to not rape is not enough.

No I’m not surprised that people believe this. There are people out there who believe men rape because they are not getting enough sex at home. Excuse me while I go bang my head against a post.

This is a rugby player (for those of you who don’t know) and I don’t know if he actually said this, of course the cynical side of me says, well of course he doesn’t have to wait for a girl to get drunk he can just hold her down, look how big he is. Sometimes I hate myself.

Now before you think I am just some fucking man-hating bitch that thinks every man is a rapist, I didn’t say he would, I said he could. That is part of the problem, men don’t realize that by their size alone they can be threatening and frightening to women, it does no good to say, “But I would never” because you’ve already caused fear and distress by just not realizing how threatening you just are. You just are.

Mark Twain is turning over in his grave

In a world where a reality star is calling herself a novelist, when I believe she didn’t even write most of it herself, someone has the unmitigated gall to think they can change Mark Twain’s work.

Have you heard this? Someone decided the Huckleberry Finn would be better off without the N-word in it.

Now I am not saying it is socially acceptable to use that word, I don’t go around saying it, but we are talking about a classic piece of literature. We are also talking about the loss of a great teaching point. How are we to teach our children not to be racist when we can no longer show them what racist is?

Excuse me while I hide under my covers. Whatever comes next is not going to be good.

Normally I don’t talk about such things

(CNN) — A controversial Kansas church says members will picket before the memorial service Wednesday evening for two Florida teenagers allegedly killed by their mother.

In a press release, Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas, said it will demonstrate outside the service in Tampa because the mother is a military wife and “the doomed American military declared war on God & His church.”

The controversial church and its pastor, Fred Phelps, have made their name picketing near funerals of people who died of AIDS, gay people and soldiers. The church plans to picket beginning at 5:15 p.m.and ending at 6 p.m., when the service is scheduled to start, according to CNN affiliate WFTS-TV in Tampa.
