>greetings from new york

>another cold day. Hey people, its New York, it’s January deal with it, not the time of year for shorts and t-shirts.

I had a bad tummy ache this morning, felt like an ulcer. When I came upstairs to leave, after beating myself up to get ready, Stitch was still in bed! So I missed my train and had to ride the dreaded express, the dreaded, crowded express so I didn’t get my make-up on or any of my book read. I also had to drop off my prescription since I am out and have to start taking it on Wednesday. It’s $70 but I get the money back from flex spending so that makes it a little better.

Now if this bad tummy ache and headache would just go away.

Maybe I shouldn’t have made it a goal to post every day. Some days are like today, with nothing for me to say. It is no wonder there are more followers on my book blog.

Today was WI for Weight Watchers, and I forgot again. Well, with my period and my stomach feeling the way it was, probably was ok I missed it. I also forgot to do any laundry today.

Tomorrow is my allergy shot, and Saturday Em and I are going to Manhattan. We are anxiously watching hte weather report, at first it was supposed to be a high of 15ºF. Now they are saying it is going to be above 20ºF. Woo Hoo! Em has an appointment at Lancôme for a facial and make-up application, I decided that instead of sitting around waiting for her, I will find someplace to get my nails done. So I googled nail salons and now I have a list of places to try. So maybe Saturday afternoon, I will have beautiful nails.

>The Classic Dames Test

>Is another of those tests that makes the circuit of blogs, like the “What type of reader are you?” that is going around the book blogs. I have my results posted on my reading blog.

Today I actually got up on time. The only thing icky was my period started. Yuck, but not a big mess just yuk. Gwen rode with me and home with me, we stopped for soup and was going to stop for gas but I forgot, so after I dropped her off I went to go get some. We were going to do the Bible reading, but D wanted her to help him with putting plastic on the windows so I came downstairs. Did a few things on my computer, we did it, then dinner and now I am here. I was thinking about Allsport, but I did too much yesterday, after a month of not going, I should have just picked up where I stopped.

Not much else to say, I guess I will check my message boards and then play my game some more. Then I will read. And be back here tomorrow.

>Barbara Stanwyck

You scored 40% grit, 24% wit, 38% flair, and 17% class!

You’re a tough dame, a bit of a spitfire, and you can even be a little dangerous, but you do it with such flair that almost all is forgiven (and even when it’s not, you’re still the most interesting woman in the room). You can be witty and charming, all right, but you have a tough streak that keeps you focused and sometimes deadly. You’ve had quite a climb to get where you are, but you’re a hard worker and you mostly deserve all you get…and then some. You might end up destroying everything around you, but you must admit…you’ve got style. Your leading men include Henry Fonda, Fred MacMurray, and when you forget yourself, Gary Cooper.

>made it to allsport

>I had been planning to go all day. Then I went on my game, just for a few minutes, and someone started talking to me, then when I was almost ready to leave my boyfriend came online so I stayed a little longer, I finally got out the door.

The roads were icky because it has been snowing all day. As I drove up I was afraid they would be closed, they weren’t so I got my workout and showered, of course now my legs are itching because of the dry skin problem I have in winter, anyway, I got a workout in and Em didn’t. After I went to Starbucks, as is now my routine, go to Allsport, stop for a non-fat latte. As for the exercise and WW progress, I forgot to weigh myself last week, but my jeans are a wee bit looser. That is a nice feeling.

Tigger got some songs and sent them to me, he was going to put some songs Em got on my I-Pod Nano but D was on the computer. He can do that later, no rush. Maybe when I go up for dinner, which will be soon. Speaking of Tigger, he knocked on my door and asked if I could help him. When I opened my door, the cat was on his back and he was bent over, so I pushed Butterscotch off him. He and Stitch will not stand up when the cat is on their back. They are afraid he will scratch them. Silly boys.

>My post for today

>I am having trouble posting because I am trying to play my game at the same time, and I keep losing my place.

Ok, we are having a break now. Had a very cold day today. It seems to me that the winters are getting colder here. Part of the problem was I wore the wrong coat, I read the temperature wrong on the text message so I wore my blue coat and I was freezing! When I got home, all I wanted to do was curl up and go to sleep. The cold air was also making my lungs unhappy and I had that tight feeling in my chest. So after everyone had left I took a long hot shower. After that, even with a sweatshirt and a sweater on I was cold. So I had some toast and tea and then came down here to sit under my blankets.

My awards are all handed out now. I checked some people’s blogs and there were no awards on them so I hope they are not upset I gave them one. If they want to ignore it that is perfectly all right with me.

Anyway, I need to get back to my game. I will write more tomorrow.

>Weather today

>Yes this post is not about my commute. Is that cheering I hear?

It is going to be about the weather! There was snow at home when I went out to my car, and the snow was hard frozen so I kind of slid to my car. The roads were O.K., the commute by train was as usual, when I got off the subway, the roads in the city were dry, yes no snow, rain or any other precipitation! You may think that is kind of weird, but that is winter in New York!

Then when I was leaving, I posted a Twitter update, that is was cold and windy, how cold and windy? Let me tell you, I had a hard time walking the wind was so strong, and my hands were so cold by the time I got to the Subway they hurt. Why didn’t I have my gloves on? Well, I can’t send text messages with my gloves on!

Check out my reading blog, Bella is reading . . ., some very lovely people gave me two awards! Well two people and they each gave me an award. So now I am off to pass on the honor!

>Time for Tea

>Rob at Inukshuk Adventure wrote a post about tea consumption. Then he asked if anyone else had their favorite mug for tea. I think someone else posed the question first, but that was where I read it.

Anyway, yes I do have a favorite mug for tea. Here is a picture. As you can see I took this picture after an evening of tea drinking and before I washed the cup. However this isn’t the only cup I use for drinking tea. I have travel cups that I use if I am ‘traveling’ (duh!) and I have a cup I use at work. That picture is to follow.

This is the cup I use at work, notice the two nice ladies. If you turn the cup you see what they are saying. Now, some people who know me will say that is not something I would say, however, my BFF (Em) would say that is exactly me!

I know you are probably tired of hearing of the weather and how it is effecting my commute but that is all I really have to talk about. Since this is a blog I know you can just go elswhwre if you are bored.

If I got to bed at a reasonable time I would be able to get up and get dressed and clean the ice and snow off my car and make my train. I keep hoping that if I keep saying it I will eventially do it. I was not late, but I really don't like the express although I did get to sit in a two-seater and face forward. On the message boards I refered to the weather as the three evil sisters. Snow, ice, and freezing rain. By the time I got to work I was chilled, I did remember to get some lunch so I wouldn't have to go out in the  freezing rain, a frozen thing that didn't nuke well. That is the problem when you share a microwave, sometimes you can't put something back in if it is not heated all the way through like this was. Other than that, I kind of liked it. It was 6 points, which is more than I usually have for lunch but I really should eat more at lunch time. It must have had a lot of sodium in it, I am really thirsty now.

Well, I am off to drink some water and do some work.

>stupid wifi

>yes, I know it is not the wifi that is stupid, but I don’t like saying it is garbage, as Tigger is fond of saying. I can’t get online right now, for some reason the wifi in the house isn’t working (although I did get on briefly) and the other internet connection I use is not connecting to the web. It tells me it is but when I try to go online I get that message that Firefox can’t find the server at . . .

So I am having to blog by e-mail from my phone and can’t check any of my website and invisibo friends. Not only that, but this is the only blog I can post to by e-mail, not that I have a review to post, I haven’t finished Nine Days Queen, still! Well I need to go, if I ever get online I will edit this post.

I made it on, it was simple really. I had my computer ‘repair’ the internet connection.

The weather is supposed to be really nasty tomorrow. I might not be going to work. If I don’t I will be here doing all my online stuff!

>today’s commute

>Was back to the normal crowds and was not as bad as Friday’s. First I didn’t miss my train. Second nothing broke. However it wasn’t smooth as silk, not that it ever is that nice, but we normally don’t have to change trains and this morning we did.

Of course when the conductor said we had to change equipment in Croton I didn’t really know what that meant so I asked the guy sitting with me, who looked like he would know if that meant we were getting off this train. Yes, thats what it means. Since we were back to normal, it meant all the seats were taken by the people who normally crowd on in Croton.
