>oscar is a loner

>we have a tank in our office. Well actually we have several, but this one is in my immediate area, with a big black and red fish Oscar. Every so often someone decides Oscar needs a tank mate and it usually does not end well. Last week someone put a fish in with Oscar and this morning it is belly up on the bottom of the tank. Maybe Oscar just got hungry over the weekend.

>On to other things.

>I did get some things accomplished. I ordered the supplies to make Em’s anklet, another one for me and a bracelet. I need to start up a website to sell these things. I know the place I want to use, I just have to do it.

I also listed more books for Tigger to sell. He really wants his I-Pod. Right now he has nothing to play his music on.

I finally installed the software from my new phone so I can sync songs to it. So I put some songs on my phone and listened to them. Of course to get the best sound I need to get earphones, I think they have to be specially designed. I don’t think you can use just any.

One thing I didn’t do is watch the movies I got from the library. They have to go back tomorrow, because they were due today and the library charges a dollar a day. I also owe the Queens library $2.50.

Today Em told me that she and D might buy my car from me so I can get out of debt faster so I can move sooner. Besides needing money for rent, I will have to have first and last month and a security deposit I am sure. After the car is taken care of, I have two loans to pay off. That will take less time if I am no longer paying for the car. Since I will not be taking the car with me, and Stitch needs a car, it makes sense. She is talking about paying it off, since they can probably get a better interest rate then what I am paying.

>And this is what happens, I miss some important news. Follow this link. Here’s another one. Follow this link.

O.K. For those of you who don’t like following links, the news is that Paul Newman died Friday. At first I thought I was really out of touch, then realized that Friday was yesterday. Thinking about it, I can’t decide which is my favorite movie of his. So I am going to one of those news articles and copy a picture to post here.

I chose this picture cause you can really see his blue eyes. I don’t think he looks as handsome in this picture as in some others, but his handsomeness is enhanced by his character and you can’t see that in a picture. That being said, he was really handsome and I was in love with him, even though he was married and older than my father!

>Broad Channel marina owner guilty of dumping sewage, faces jail, score one point for the good guys.

>I decided

>I started reading Sleep No More by Greg Iles. It is not the type of book that I would normally read, and after Mortal Fear, I wasn’t sure I would like it. So far I do and I will continue to read it, but I am not sure if I will finish it. I might even get more books by him. Not buy, but borrow from the library.

That reminds me, I need to check the Queens library to see if my other book is in. They haven’t fixed my e-mail address so I am not getting notifications from them when my books come in.

I was just reading one of the blogs I follow and she had a story about a dead snake in a classroom and the teacher told the student to put it in the outside trash can. Someone commented she was getting Americanized because she should have said dust bin. It reminded me of when I made a carrot cake for Tom and it didn’t turn out. I told someone about the cake and she asked me, was any of it salvageable, I remember I said, “No, it went straight into the dust bin.” She looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. I have no idea why I said that since I’m not British, maybe I had been watching BBC America the night before.

One more thing before I go, I think a skunk has taken refuge under our back deck, I heard some noises earlier, it is raining now and there is a terrible smell coming in my window, smell like wet skunk.

>Here’s an easy challenge!

>Check out this challenge! It’s at MyFriendAmy’ blog and it challenges us to get a nonreader to read and us already readers to read more! Here are Amy’s ROE!

It’s called the Read One Book Challenge.

Here are the rules.

1) Read one book you have never read before by December 31st, 2008.

2) This book must not be a children’s book that you are reading to your kids. It must be a book for you.

3) This book may not be part of work related research. This book is for you.

4) It can be fiction or nonfiction.

5) Please leave a comment telling me you’re joining in and write a post linking back to this post to invite others to join in as well (if you have a blog, if not just leave a comment!).

6) For bonus points, spend an evening at a Barnes and Noble, Borders, or local independent bookshop browsing through books. (apparently there’s a huge percentage of people who don’t go to bookstores, either)

7) When you’ve completed your book write a post about it and I’ll link to it here!

If you are like Amy and read 2-4 books a week, please still join in though you’ll probably complete the challenge a lot faster than others. One ten dollar Amazon gift card will be awarded through random drawing to a person who signs up and completes the challenge on time.

So get thee over and sign up!!

>Helter Skelter

>I don’t remember what that refers to but I just bought the book at B&N. I find it very interesting that a book written in 1974 is still sought after today. Several people recommended it, and I thought, I should read it since I love Charlie Manson, wait, that didn’t come out right. I am fascinated by him. His control over others. He was a little guy, same height as me, talk about a Napoleon complex!

It is the #1 True Crime Bestseller of All Time (according to the cover) and “One of the best crime stories ever written.” — Chicago Sun – Times Showcase. So I am reading it, well I read a little in it, I have some other books to read first. A library book and some other TC books I bought and I also have some DVD’s I got from the library that I need to watch. But since I now own it, I can read it at my leisure. Or all at once as I sometimes do.

I want to thank Brit Gal’ in the USA (see link below) for her black box, it is really fun. It is this box on her blog, that you click on your choices and it magically transports you all over the blog world. Well, that’s my explanation for it. Last night I went to a blog called “Random Chick” (I think), the first post I read mentioned TA DA “Brit Gal’ in the USA”, anyway, she had a link to a site where you could make your own seal, that is where I got my princess seal, click on it to go to the site and make your own seal. The next time I went to a blog by a man who calls himself, Ziggy, or Zaggy, maybe Jazzy(?) hmm, Jaggy! That’s it! (see blog list below, silly me). He is in Scotland, very interesting. So now I am following two blogs by British people and one by a Scotsman. And I owe it all to Sarah, the Brit Gal’. I limit myself to two times on the black box because I was warned it is very addictive. I already spend too much time on the computer.

Oh, and how did I find Sarah, through Bonnie or Sherri I forget, but you can find her through my link.

>Headache is back

>I didn’t get up today until 10:45. My head is pounding right now, I either need some caffeine or some food.

The dress I got fits, sort of, it is a little tight around the arms, and I wore the wrong bra, the straps were showing in the back. My green sweater matches so I wore it over the dress. It is the straight one with the graduated flower print. I just checked my mail and the WW website so I am going now to get some food. I may be back later.

I watched the first DVD of Law & Order: Criminal Intent and the movie ‘Lemony Snicket’s – A Series of Unfortunate Events. It was kind of cute. Three orphans, a clueless banker and policeman, and a villain played by Jim Carey. I think I will watch another episode of Criminal Intent then go to bed. Maybe that will get rid of my headache.
