I received this in an e-mail at work, I thought it was kind of cool so I posted it here.

>Postcard Friendship Friday #47

>My parents just got back from Hawaii, they have been several times and NEVER taken me. Even when they had a free ticket, my mother just made another trip. This time my mother sent me this postcard.

This is something I hate, the post office putting these white stickers on the postcard and obscuring some of the picture. I mean there is a space on the back for that! Anyway this is “World Famous” Waikiki Beach, O’ahu. I wonder if the water is really that blue.

I followed MrCachet’s advise to try removing the sticker from the postcard and this is what I got.

>New month, new start

>I kind of just gave up last month, now it is December and I have renewed my commitment to post every day. Even if its a short post, like this is a short post. I also rejoined Twitter. I don’t have a widget yet but if you search for Bella Foxx you’ll find me. In other news Em has been in Florida since last Thursday and it is driving me crazy! And the kids are losing their minds! But she comes home tomorrow and has been keeping track of us on Facebook.

Happy Blogoversary to me

Today is my Blogoversary and as promised, there is cake.

I started blogging 3 years ago today. I can’t really say I started this blog 3 years ago since it had a different name and sign in and everything. After a while things got too complicated so I started a new blog. Then I tried to make my blog 3 columns and ended up not being able to post new entries. So I started this blog and discovered that I could import my posts from the other blogs. So I did that and this blog has all my posts from the very beginning.

I also decided that I needed a separate blog for my book reviews (since people were sending me books for review, except I haven’t done any in a while, I am getting back to it though, now that November is almost gone) and for my crafts, except I haven’t done any in a while. Something else to get back to.

Anyway, its been a fun ride and a learning experience and I couldn’t have done it without you. So thanks to all my readers, there will be more fun to come, I have lots more to say!

>Turkey Fryer Safety

>Thanksgiving is just a couple of weeks away and most people are already planning their Thanksgiving feast. If your feast includes a deep fried turkey, you may want to rethink your plans.

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) discourages the use of outdoor gas-fueled turkey fryers that immerse the turkey in hot oil. The use of turkey fryers by consumers can lead to devastating burns, other injuries and the destruction of property.

For those who still cannot resist the Thanksgiving tradition; prior to using a turkey fryer, check out the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) for a list of safety tips.

>The flu is here

>Gwen has been diagnosed with swine flu. I have diagnosed myself with the same thing, or maybe something similar.

I had great plans to blog about my crappy week last week, starting with the fact that I forgot my November pass. I was ok on the way in but had to use my MetroCard for the subway, and going home I didn’t have enough money on the card and then had to run around to find a subway station that would renew my card. Then that evening the Yankees lost game 5.

Anyway, after all this time I have kind of forgot all I was going to say, about going to the parade and getting squished and seeing a fight and the fighters leaving with the NYPD, then getting the flu and feeling like crap all this week.

Hopefully my next post will be more cheerful.
