And I haven’t posted since Wednesday, I mean, like really posted, sat here and thought up something clever and witty to say out of my brain.

Every other Wednesday is a RDO for me, that stands for Regular Day Off, the Department is calling it a Pass Day. So what did I do Wednesday? Well, a lot of nothing really, and a lot of something. LOL. I walked with Gwen, we went to the library. Her idea, went online but didn’t have enough time to really do anything. Had lunch with Em. Got ice cream for Fred since he had come home sick from school, played Pictionary, see what I mean by nothing and something?

Thursday was a regular work day and today Em and Tigger went to Manhattan, South Street Seaport where she got a ankle chain and a top really cheap. I had my eye doctor appointment, I now need bi-focal lenses. But I got my contacts, I just have to not wear them from 6:00 a.m. to midnight. I should get to bed earlier than midnight anyway, since I get up at 5:00 a.m. Afterwards we met at Annie Moore’s, we had planned to go to Marie Belle, but Em had a blister on the bottom of her foot. This was on top of the blister she got when she and I were in Manhattan. So we just came home. See her take on the day at her blog, Marcie’s Manhattan.

090521-10321On another note, someone made a comment about my piercing post, so we sent a few e-mails back and forth, I decided to see if I could get a picture of my ear and here it is! I already got an “Awww it’s cute!” I am now thinking about getting a third hole, but I don’t know if there is room on my little ear.

>Late posts

>I have started carrying a notebook around with me and jotting down thoughts. It is for this blog, it has pluses and minuses. The pluses are I don’t have to worry about forgetting what I was going to say because I have it written down, since I just write a thought, I can embellish it and just get totally creative here instead of just retyping what I wrote, then going back to make it make sense.

The minus is: I don’t have to worry about forgetting what I was going to say because I have it written down, and therefore, sometimes I am posting about what happened three days ago and it is no longer fresh and my post ends up being huge.

For instance on Monday 18 May 2009 my notes are as such:
Fred 2 hours late
Buddy bit my finger.

Tuesday is much the same: Tuesday 19 May 2009
had to scrape ice (frost) off car windshield.
Dr’s appt.
Forgot eyedrops to buy them @ DR $12. Eyes itching now.
Test fire alarm ~ bell next to my desk. Annoying and giving me headache.
Left work early went DT got ears pierced 2nd time 2nd hole.

Now does that make any sense to you? Makes sense to me, lets see, Fred 2 hours late, Em told him to be home at 5:30 p.m. He was still not home when she picked me up at the train station after 7:00 p.m. D and Tigger were out looking for him. Worse, he was not replying to the text messages she sent him. It got to the point she was on the phone with the police to report him missing when he walked in the door. He is now not allowed to go anywhere by himself. Buddy bit my finger. I was giving him cat lax, cause he threw up, he bit my finger trying to get the cat lax off my finger. Cat is a maniac.

Tuesday’s is a little better. had to scrape ice (frost) off car windshield. I was not having a flashback, on the 19th of May, it was cold enough that I had to scrape frost off the window. Dr’s appt. Dermatologist to see how the rosacea is doing. Also to get that spot on my ankle tested. Forgot eyedrops to buy them @ DR $12. Eyes itching now. The eye doctor gave me a sample of eye drops to use until I see her again, cause my eyes have dry spots. Anyway, I remember puting them in my eyes and holding the bottle, that’s all. To buy a bottle was $12 at Duane Reade so I didn’t get them. Test fire alarm ~ bell next to my desk. Annoying and giving me headache. I do not like it when I get to work and the strobe lights are flashing. Nothing wrong, just testing the system. Between the constant, “Attention Attention, we are testing the fire alarm, please disregard.” and that thing blasting from the speaker near my desk I thought I was either going to go deaf or go crazy. Left work early went DT got ears pierced 2nd time 2nd hole. Partly because of the alarm and partly because I wanted to get my ears pierced, I left work early. When I was living in Buffalo, I got a second hole in my ears. I had since let it close over due to wanting to please someone. Not only is that person no longer around, I have decided to stop doing things for others to that extent. So I went to the Piercing place and now I have two holes in each ear. I haven’t told Em, I am waiting to see if she notices. (No I don’t have pitcures. I would have to take them myself and I don’t think I can get that close with my camera.)

>On Tuesday

>I posted about being tired and not being able to post. Part of the reason I was so tired was the children had upset Em – she was yelling at them, something they did or more likely didn’t do. She told them she would not be going to Manhattan ever again since she cannot trust them to do what they are supposed to do.

Of course she is not going to stick to that but maybe this Saturday we will stay home, I hope so, I get so tired. These is the purposed plan for 16 May 2009.

Of course I will be back to let you know how it turns out, I am voting to stay home. But I am also weak.

I didn’t post the plans for this Saturday because they have already changed. D has convinced Em she should go for the day without children. Today she told me, he had to get the serpentine belt replaced on his van(he’s in Canada on business, that was an unexpected expense). But she still wants me to get a ticket for her, which I did. (Told you I was weak)

On another note, one of my weird things I used to post, I was on the subway reading the ads encouraging people to take the bus and the train. Isn’t that kind of like preaching to the choir as the saying goes? Shouldn’t they put them up at, oh, maybe the DMV?

Today, I saw a man with a weird beard. His face was shaven down to his chin line, then below that he had a beard. So the beard was under his chin and down his neck. If people do things like that, they should expect people to look at them funny. This is just my opinion. Don’t shoot me for it.

I told someone I was having a personal crisis and wouldn’t be posting for a while, then I realized I can’t do that. Even if I don’t talk about my crisis(and I’m not going to), typing in my blog is kind of a release for me. It allows me to let go of things so I can really obsess about what is bothering me. LOL!

Last night I sat with my computer and was too tired to post. I started thinking how my blog has gotten better, evolved you could say, but recently it has seemed to devolved. It has changed from a place to record my WW progress and personal thoughts to a quote and history blog. Don’t get me wrong, I like sharing little tidbits from the New York Times here and I am not going to stop. I am just going to try to get back to doing more personal posts. That means more drivel about my commute and the weather and the kids and life. Like for instance . . .

This morning, I woke up with a bad taste in my mouth, couldn’t figure what it was or where it came from, I tried to remember the last thing I put in my mouth, lets see, oh, I brushed my teeth. But this didn’t taste like toothpaste. It so distracted me I forgot to take my Oracea, I think I remember to put on my cream, but I am not sure, I remembered to bring my makeup, but not my foundation and I haven’t gotten around to putting it on yet, and looks like I won’t get to, my boss just walked in, so gotta run!

New Best Friend

Today was a regular work day, nothing special, I do have a few things to blog about however. When Gwen and I went to see Phantom, I wore a dress and the Crocs pictured at left (the blue ones). It is a bad habit of mine to wear new shoes when I have to do a lot of walking. I guess I thought that since they were Crocs and they weren’t heels like my Cyprus Crocs I would be alright. Well, I was wrong, by the time we got to Central Park my feet were starting to develop blisters.

My dermatologist is near Central Park and on Tuesday when I got the prescription I dropped it off at the Duane Reade. They had to order it, which I was ok with since I knew we were going to be in Manhattan on Wednesday. So we went in to get my medicine and look for bandages. Gwen had some but I wanted the special kind for blisters.

It was there that I found my new best friend (relatively speaking). Band-Aid® Friction Block™. Claims to prevent blisters and it does! It looks like a little tiny deodorant stick and you just rub in on your foot where your shoes rub. You are not supposed to use it on already formed blisters (I did, and it kept it from getting worse). At the end of Wednesday, the only blister on my foot was the one that I had before I put this stuff on.

So today I decided to put it to the test, I took it to work and wore my Cyprus Crocs, all day with no tape on my toes, just the Band-Aid® Friction Block™. No blisters, not even any red spots, and no tape residue on my feet. I am definitely taking it with me tomorrow.

For those of you who are expecting pictures from tomorrow, I have some bad news, I lost my camera today.

>This morning was my follow up with the Dermatologist, she was not happy about the bumps still on face, she wasn’t the only one. She gave me script for Oracea. Since her office is near Central Park and I had some time before I had to go to work, I walked around Columbus Circle for a while where I took this picture. Before I took the picture I was standing looking at it and eating fritos out of a bag, I looked down at the step in front of me and there was this bold little sparrow, as I watched it hopped off the step towards me, I think it was waiting for me to drop a chip. So, shhh, don’t tell the parks department that I was feeding the sparrows, dropping my chips.

At one time I was posting weird things I saw in New York, I stopped not because I stopped seeing them, I guess they started to not seem weird to me. Here are some random things I saw this morning.

Walking to GCT I saw a man with his pug, he stops and the dog sits and looks up at him with that, ‘You’re sharing your lunch with me right?’ face,

I got a sandwich for my lunch and resisted the urge to take all the Splenda packets. (I steal Splenda packets from restaurants, I don’t use them, I just can’t resist the yellow packets for some reason) It was hard but I did it.

I saw a girl smelling her hair, it made me want to smell mine.

I saw a woman holding an ice pack to her jaw. I resisted the urge to ask her ‘Dentist or husband?’

Brain freeze I think

I was over at Daryl’s and was going to leave a really great comment on Monochrome Monday, then I saw the link for Elizabeth Wix of About New York… so I went there, then I saw the link for Buster’s blog (he types really well for someone without thumbs and fingers) then I accidently shut down my browser and, when I reopened it I couldn’t remember what I was going to say to Daryl. So I went and just started, hoping it would just come to me, but it hasn’t. So I quit and came here, and I still don’t remember, but check out these blogs, they are kind of cool.
