~ ON THIS DAY ~

On June 6, 1944, the D-Day invasion of Europe took place during World War II as Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy, France.

>I was posting on this forum I like, I post there a lot, and I said something and got the response, “You do know what *** is slang for, don’t you Foxx?” Well, of course I didn’t, and it felt like high school all over again, when the kids would tell jokes and I had no idea what they were talking about, I would have to go to my friend Angel and ask her, “Why is ‘because the British were coming’ funny?” And she would explain it to me, and she never laughed at me, not to my face and I am sure not behind my back either, she wasn’t like that. I knew the kids in class would laugh, in my face, I knew this from experience, for me high school was torture, dealing with other kids was hard for me.

So when I read that, I didn’t have Angel to ask, so I went to the Urban Dictionary, and the feeling I had was the same feeling I got in high school, that I was the stupidest kid in the class, not in the lessons, but in life knowledge. I was upset, and perplexed that I was upset by the opinion of people I don’t even know, just communicate with on a public forum. Just like the kids in high school didn’t really matter, a few years out of high school, I didn’t even remember their names, a few more years and I was far away, in a better place, making a new life for myself.
And this too will pass, although I am kicking myself for being a stupid kid, not stupid cause I didn’t know what they were saying, stupid for letting it get to me.

345,000 U.S. Jobs Lost in May; Unemployment Rate Jumps to 9.4%

The economy shed 345,000 jobs in May, a sharp reduction in the pace of job losses, the government reported on Friday in its monthly employment report.

The unemployment rate climbed to 9.4 percent, its highest point in a quarter-century, and economists said the job losses were likely to pile up through the rest of the year. But the letup in the pace of losses fanned hopes that the plummeting job market was showing sustained signs of stabilizing.

>Something that bothers me

>Have you received this e-mail? Maybe you’ve received one like it.

TOO Busy for a Friend?

One day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room On two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name.

Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of Their classmates and write it down.

It took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as The students left the room, each one handed in the papers.

That Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name of each student on a separate Sheet of paper, and listed what everyone else had said about that individual..

There is more to the e-mail, but if you have received it you know the rest, the end of the e-mail has a plea to forward the e-mail on, with a tug . . .

If
You’ve received this, it is because someone cares for you and it means there Is probably at least someone for whom you care.

If
You’re ‘too busy’ to take those few minutes right now to forward this Message on, would this be the VERY first time you didn’t do that little Thing that would make a difference in your relationships?

The More people that you send this to, the better you’ll be at reaching out to Those you care about.

Remember, you reap what you sow.. What you put into the lives of others comes back into your own.

May Your Day Be Blessed As Special As You are

Emotional blackmail is what I call it, but that is not what bothers me, (I mean my mother has been doing that to me for years) what bothers me is I don’t always pass them on. Especially if I have received it before, if it has statements in it that I don’t agree with, so on and so forth. Sometimes I will just return it to the person that sent it to me. I don’t think that makes me a bad person to not do this, the fact is, it isn’t just a few minutes or a minor inconvenience, I don’t just have friends in my e-mail address book, I get newsletters and offers for books to read for review, I have to go through my address book and pick out who I want to send this to, who I think won’t be bothered by getting something like this.

I know posting this will not stop these e-mails from coming, I just wanted to voice my opinion about it.

>Last Saturday and Sunday

>Saturday was a fun day, Gwen and I did some errands in the morning, then we went to the park, I forgot my camera so I took pictures with my phone. Funny pictures like this one, similar to one I took before with Gwen. Then she got in the spirit of things and took this picture of me. But what was I taking a picture of?

Well her, of course!

Then Sunday morning, Tigger made a long arduous trip from his bedroom to the living room. It just wore him out.

>NOT YOUR SISSY FRIENDSHIP PROMISE

>This is not your typical “Sissified” Friendship promise. I thought it was kinda funny, and sounds like some of my friends. So here it is and enjoy.

Are you tired of those sissy ‘friendship’ poems that always sound good, but never actually come close to reality?

Well, here is a series of promises that actually speak of True Friendship. You WON’T see cutesy little smiley faces just the stone cold truth of our great friendship.

1. When you are sad, I will jump on the person who made you sad like a spidermonkey jacked up on Mountain Dew!!!

2. When you are blue, I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.

3. When you smile, I will know you are plotting something that I must be involved in.

4. When you’re scared, we will high tail it out of here.

5. When you are worried, I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whining, ya big baby!!!!

6. When you are confused, I will use little words.

7. When you are sick, Stay away from me until you are well again. I don’t want whatever you have.

8. When you fall, I’ll pick you up and dust you off–After I laugh my butt off!!

9. This is my oath…Ipledge it to the end. ‘Why?’ you may ask;–because you are my FRIEND!***********************

Friendship is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it, but only YOU can feel the true warmth.

Kinda brings a tear to your eye doesn’t it?

>Sugar scrub

>8 oz demera sugar turbindo sugar
1 oz vegetable glycerin
1 oz liquid castile soap
1 oz cold pressed oil (jojoba or coconut)
1/2 tsp vitamin E
1/4 tsp essential oil

All these supplies were available at my local natural foods store. The castile soap was already infused with essential oil, so I was able to skip that ingredient. All the ingredients came to under $30. It’s enough to make $120 worth of sugar scrub if I bought it from a store. This is made fresh and will last about a month. If you’re not going to use it in a month or less either make a smaller batch or refrigerate it. If its cold though it will separate and the cold pressed oil will solidify so you’ll have to warm it to room temperature before using it.

Basically mix all the oils and soap into the sugar. It will separate slightly so you’ll need to stir it when you use it.

The raw sugar is brown so the color isn’t pretty, but it works as well exfoliating all over the body. You can use it on your face as well.
